Viking.. If you are planning on getting a lisence, you will automatically get the mag as part of your USPA membership. I am surprised you are not already a member!
-
Skreamer!! You are killing me! Students walking by my classroom keep looking at me like i am nuts. VERY FUNNY!!
-
Two words... STOMACH MUSCLES tighten them abs and pull your lower body to the same plane as your chest. A track should be FLAT!!!! Blue skies, Anne

Here's what I would recommend 1. tracking 2. barrel rolls at the end of a track so you check the airspace above you before you deploy 3. finding other groups while in freefall. I never did see other groups while I was a student, and I am glad that I now have the awareness to look for them. 4. paying close attention to each of your limbs. What is your right arm doing. what happens if you change its position? 5. having fun, cuz that it was it is all about!!! Blue skies, Anne

This doesn't mean that you are going to stop writing, does it?? If so, I am writing to USPA and telling them to refuse your application!!! ;)
-
Congrats, Joe!! Sorry I missed it! I can't wait to jump with you CASA weekend!!! Blue skies, Anne
-
and yes, you definately owe for the first four-way...
-
Great tale, as usual, Michele!! Congrats....now you have a whole new group of people to jump with!!! Get to it!!! Blue skies, Anne

No worries, we BOTH lost the formation when we broke...you high, me low.... Tons of fun anyway!!!!
-
1. pre-second surfed landing 2. pre-second stand-up on my own gear (remember, I NEVER stand-up!) 3. pre-second two-way from 4000' 4. pre-second kiss in freefall (it was a peck on the helmet from a retired US Marshall) 5. pre-second jump with a dz.commer I had an AWESOME day!!!!!
-
fred, I had wrist-mount reading troubles, also. On jump #nine, I went toread it and would turn, so I would stop the turn and try to read it again, and turn again. I never did see that damn thing that jump. I finally pulled becuase I was freaked out about not knowing where I was. Turned out it was exactly 15 sec. After that I read only my chest mount for the next 15-20 jumps. By then I was comfortable enough in freefall that reading the wirst was easy. Just believe in yourself and picture everything going well!!! It will click...I promise....The landing thing may have clicked a bit for me toady (after 75 jumps!!!) Blue skies, Anne

Ok, not a forums question, but my mailbox on DZ.com has inbox, sentbox, and trash. I can't figure out how to empty that trash. Any ideas? Is it worth me worrying about? Thank you (I am not very computer literate....) Anne

Clay, Get your priorities straight...It isn't about how I look or how much money I make... It is about how good I am in the air and how good I am in bed..... -
I dare you to do a naked jump... I wanna see the DZOs face when you do...... Happy B-day!! See you Sunday!

Just to let you guys know...there are skydiving chicks who are single....don't settle for a whuffo before you consider a chick who wants to spend her weekends at the Dz, go on vacation to other DZs and loves to watch skidiving videos.... We do exist..... -
I just asked someone if he is "coming out this weekend" I don't think he is gay, but the question seems to be leading in that direction.....
-
Am I the only skydiver who 1. Doesn't have a tattoo AND 2. Doesn't want one??? Anyone else??? PLEASE?????
-
Joe- Check your private messages...about this weekend....
-
YEA, SIS!!! We could spend all day/night bashing a few shitty DZs, but isn't it interesting how many of us feel loved/safe in our home DZ or DZs??? It seems like there are quite a few places that foster the kind of environment in which we all thrive. GO SKYDIVERS!!!!!
-
OK, I've only jumped at two DZs, but I have to vote for ARCHWAY SKYDIVING CENTER in Vandalia, IL, just outside of St. Louis. Why?? The owners will call you if you haven't been out in a while to make sure you are ok. The landing area is huge and if you miss it, it is surrounded by fields of corn (ouch) and beans. Super nice people. Experienced people always inviting low-timers on jumps. BBQ and bonfire every Saturday night. It is my santuary. I leave my problems in St. Louis, drive to the DZ, and smile all day. I suck, can't land on my feet, always go low in formations, have been known to screw up exits, but people (including Lew Sanborn) continually invite me to jump with them.
-
Dove, I am sorry this happened to you...I am glad that you are going to be OK!!! The fact that you posting this story has made one person (Zclubber) consider jumping with an AAD makes it worth it. I feel so blessed to be a part of this community where we share our experiences so that others may avoid them or learn something from them. Thank you!!! Blue skies and a speedy recovery, Anne

you know..... sometimes I just wonder what the HELL you people are talking about.
-
Of course it is a big deal!!! Congrats. I look forward to hearing about your level two!!!!
-
Thank you spectre...I needed that....I know I am cute, but not that cute.....

I only have 74 jumps, never land on my feet, and still feel like I don't know a thing. SO...... I was riding up in the King air yesterday sitting on the bench opposite the door. A student doing his first King Air jump (Static line progression) was seated on the floor right by the door. At 1500ft we opened the door. The student turned a bit white in the face and was looking around for something to hold on to. The only thing he could find was my ankle. So from about 2000 up to 14,500 he gripped my ankle tight. I am not ready to be "experienced"!!! I can't quite comprehend that to some people I really do know a ton about this sport!!! (It certainly took me back to my days in the C-182. Every time the door was opened I gripped the pilot's seat-hanging on for dear life. How things change!!!) I just thought it was so cute that he needed something to hold on to!!!!
