To appease the skydiving nut inside of me I have been using my Mirage Mini-bag as a purse. Every time I put it on I throw my pilot chute, cut away and pull my reserve. I look goofy, but it takes me to the sky, if only for a brief moment!

So... My dad and I were reading Playboy together....(not as sick as it sounds) and I really liked one of the Halloween jokes: A man was headed to a costume party and did not have a get-up. He thought and thought and finally decided on what to be. He took off his jacket, tie, shirt, undershirt, socks and shoes. He went to the party. The hostess answered the door and asked, "What are you supposed to be?" The man replied, " I am a premature ejaculation..... I just came in my pants." (Ok, I paraphrased, but I still think it is damn funny!!!)

Justin, I'm with you... only one slam so far (knock on wood) That one was after I had some trouble packing it ( after I folded it it kept sliding and scooting away from me as I tried to get it in the bag.) I should have stopped and refolded it, but I was too lazy and paid the price!!! I have a ZP normal size slider, roll the nose, flat pack. It opens pretty every time....(except that one)

It was passing time between my first block class and study hall. Two of the other teachers came in and told me. I, too, was waiting for the punch line until I looked up and saw their faces. The worst was not being able to get any information. My computer at work is useless in terms of getting on the internet. I have no access to tv or radio in my room. It wasn't until 1.5 hours later that I had a chance to get to a tv and hear and see some details. Not knowing lead to lots of rumors flying around the high school......

Hey Marc, I don't know anything about planes (except how to throw myself out of them) How much extra fuel does it take to get up to 30 grand or more versus how much fuel do they save cruising at a higher altitude??

My guess as to the altitude is that since there is little other air traffic, there is no need to go all the way up to 30 or 35 grand. Does that make sense?

How come I have never heard of this before? I give blood every three months and jump every weekend. No one has ever mentioned a possible problem, not the Red Cross or my DZ. Nor has it been mentioned in anything skydiving related that I have read.

Congrats! I think it is important that we do celebrate any and all good that happens, especially in the face of all this horror. One of my friends had a healthy baby girl yesterday! Mom and baby are both doing great. -
I have to say my reaction to the weather today is different than yours. It kinda creeps me out and seems wrong that this is such a beautiful day with such clear blue skies. Seems like today should be clouldy and rainy to match the mood.

I, too, had a scary lack of track moment a few weeks ago. I was doing a spider formation with four really experienced jumpers, and I was the center. At breakoff, the plan was that I would pull immediately, and they would track, then pull. I did just that and watched someone track for like half of a second and pull right in front of me. We ended up on just about the same level. Thankfully that jumper had an onheading opening and was facing away from me!!! The other three were well below and far away from me. I guess I know who to be aware of the next time!!! Blue skies and good separation! Anne

First of all, what a run-on sentence!!! Second, don't beat yourself up about the jump, dude!! Picture yourself doing what you want to do, instead of reliving any mistakes you've made. Third, at least you get to jump this weekend. I'll be in DC meeting my nephew. No jumps til CASA weekend for me!! Have fun on that new rig (BEER)

I wear contact under my goggles every jump. never had a problem. I made sure that my goggles sealed pretty tightly around my eyes, though!
