I would love to hear another woman's response to that pic. I know how you guys are gonna respond.... My only thought is OUCH Blue skies, Anne

I think you should go with the red-black-grey Three responses, three different opinions. Did you really think we were going to be helpful?? Blue skies (and the red rig) Anne

I always feel better when I am not the only one.....

How do I add people to my address book. The only way I have found is to send them a PM and check the box next to their name that I typed. Can I do it without PMing them? Am I just being stupid? (entirely possible) Thanks, Anne

That is so scary! Is that really what boobs look like in freefall??? OUCH!!!!

i am sure you can tell...I would have chopped for damn sure. I don't land well under a perfect canopy. I cannot imagine landing something crooked!! Thankfully everything turned out ok

If it matters, the slider was caught halfway up in some tension knots. That is why it wasn't flying straight.

Saturday I watched a jumper leave the C-182, pull quickly, canopy open. So far so good. Then I noticed that he seemed to be turning quite a bit. He did a canopy control check, and apparently decided to keep the canopy. To fly straight, he had to have one toggle well below his shoulder and the other all the way up. Getting back to the landing area was fine, but I was terrified of his flare, there is no way it was gonna be even!!! He landed, ok, just a bit of a tumble, everything fine. Would you keep a canopy that you had to have one toggle half way down to fly straight? Blue skies (and straight-flying canopies) Anne

Cool pics, jumpman!

i can't seem to find the link to send a private message. Am I being stupid?? I keep checking to see that I am loggged in, but I never seem to get the choice to send a private message unless I go through my mailbox like any web address. Can you steer me in the right direction?? Blue skies, Anne

So...my new Mirage came in today. So sweet. So pretty. I did not get a name put on it. People asked me, "Why not?" I replied, "I didn't know what to put on there. Anne, Strie, Striebs, AJ, what???" My DZO quips, "How about Bif?" Like I need THAT nickname. Sure I have 70+ jumps and rarely land on my feet. I sure hope that doesn't stick!!!! Yeah, he's clever, but I think he sucks. Blue skies (and stand up landings???) Anne

Isn't that better than someone else taking out your 100th?? Did ya have fun, cuz that is all that matters!!! Congrats on #100 Blue skies and 100s more Anne

I used to get bruises on my left upper arm when jumping student gear. One of my JMs finally figured out that when I was reaching for the ripcord, I was dropping my left shoulder, causing the harness to drop down my arm a bit. As soon as I focus on keeping both shoulders back on deployment, the bruises stopped!!! I also used to hold on when the door opened. I used to grab the pilot's seat in the C-182. Now I just laugh at that. Today I rode to altitude sitting right in the door of the King Air (door open) and loved every minute. I think it take a little getting used to!!!! Sounds like you are doing great, Fred! Keep it up!! I t only gets better! Blue skies, Anne

I am used to jumping a Skymaster 230 (Z-p/F-111) I have been jumping the PD210 in transition to my own gear. Is the PD more likely to open hard? Is there a difference in how the two should be packed?? I got SLAMMED today on opening. I could not have been more stable on deployment. I was just wondering if there is a drifference in how the two should be packed that I need to know about. Thanks! Blue skies and SOFT openings, Anne

I know that sometimes I annoy people with all of my question. Especially since I sometime need the same question answered several times. I don't care if they think I am a pain in the ass. I will keep asking my questions. Most people are super patient with me most of the time, so I don't worry about the few times that I may have annoyed someone!!!

The schools may be out there to teach this stuff, but I think it should be more of a requirement. I feel like I am getting a pretty good canopy control education still because I am a pain in the ass to the DZO who is always out watching people under canopy. I ask a million questions and if I don't like or understand the answers, I ask the question again to three other people. I have had to take a very active/aggressive role to get canopy control lessons beyond the s/l progression. Blue skies, Anne

C-182 (s/l training...) King Air Porter (none of us knew how to load it...we barely fit 8 . They said it would hold 10. I don't believe it!! And the ride to altitude...I think I had two birthdays during that trip! SuperOtter I am eagerly awaiting the CASA in Sept. Very excited about that. Last year I was still a student so I could only watch... Blue skies, Anne

Where are you playing and can I come see you???

I was just looking at mountainman's pics from freefall. My first thought was, "What a crazy mother f****r." Then I realized that I have done just that thing 70+ times. Does it ever just amaze you what it is that we do?? We voluntarily leave an airplane, speeding towards the earth at 120mph, and trust that one or the other chute will save us. I think we are all crazy. Of course, I cannot wait to jump again on Saturday. just random thoughts, Anne

I try to keep a lot of things in my life. I tap dance, lift weights, play piano, root for the Cardinals, go to bars with whuffo friends, and try a variety of wines. The wine thing is my favorite....(besides skydiving, obviously.) Blue skies, Anne
-
I gotta say, I never want my entire life to be skydiving. I know I think about it just about 24/7, but I never want it to be all that I do or all that I am. I want to be (and am) a skydiver, a Cardinal fan, a piano player, the chick who loves happy hours, a winery trip fan, etc. I love my skydiving friends. In some ways I am closer to them than anyone, but I do not want them to be all that I have. Just my 0.02. Blue skies, Anne

I now have a grand total of........ 72 jumps. I am inching along... It has been over a year. I have trouble paying $33 per jump. My rig and all the components should be in this week. Then my jumps will be $17 each. I suspect my jump numbers will start to rise!!! Blue skies, Anne
