    Tdog is a dork

I've gotta go in to work tomorrow to do some firmware writing. I actually don't mind working weekends (even If I don't get paid ) because a) nobody bothers you with stupid shit when you're trying to concentrate - so you actually get things done! b) I can leave the phone off the hook. (or set to DND) c) I can bank some hours for skydiving road trips - since 2 weeks vacation a year sucks.
  7. ordered new gear this week
  8. are there outlets where you park (for block heaters and such)? A $15 timer from home depot could work for you in that case.
  9. Ever lived in Winnipeg? a few weeks of -30 to -40 will show you the benefit of remote starters
  10. could you elaborate on why? (sorry I don't mean to hijack this thread - but it is still deployment related)
  11. as long as the bag stays closed until line stretch, (hence the locking stows being tight), and the lines are neat so they don't hitch around the container flaps, I'm happy. once the lines are free of the container, I wouldn't care if they all came out at once. (again, as long as the locking stows held on, keeping the bag closed until linestretch) Think of how the lines are stowed on your reserve.
  12. I am of the opinion that quartering the slider is for jerks. I've never done it, and have always been happy with my openings. with flaking the insides of the canopy, not quartering the slider, only doing 2-3 loose tail rolls, and making all non-locking stows really loose (if you hold the bag up for more than a few seconds, they just fall out) I've always had my Pilot (and now my Samurai) open within 500 feet or less. YMMV
  13. I had this problem on my Samura once. I believe the problem was my chest strap was too tight, bowing the canopy. (I had forgotten to loosen it on that jump) Try loosening your chest strap after opening, so it's nice and loose, and your canopy can expand. That may not be it, but its an easy thing to check. have fun
  14. I love how the download links to IE-7

    Farm Bus

hey, allright. Now we can ride the short-bus in style I may have to come back down and visit again. Now, if only the bus ride was safer than the skydive itself....... Cheers from Winnipeg, Brant
  16. you don't edited to add: I agree. Only only do 2-3 loose rolls.
  17. any rigger shoudl be able to set you up easily. (provided they have some misc. crap hanging around )
  18. one thing I found on my 188, is that the openings sped up a little bit if you flake the inside of the canopy as you're PRO packing it. (as opposed to just clearing the stabs, and wrapping the tail)
  19. Hey, don't knock the Stratus. The Stratus I had as a rental car in Phoenix 2 weeks ago shure kicked the shit out of the shitty Charger I had in Atlanta the week after. Fucking Dodge Charger "Rental Car Edition"
  20. Those are pretty loud! We've got 2 of those based at our DZ's airport. (along with a couple DC-3's. Used to fly cargo up north). I dont' think I've ever seen a plane flying at that low an airspeed than those c-46's. I don't think i've seen a plane leak more oil than those either. Pretty neat airplanes though. We've been trying to get a jump out of them for a few years - no luck yet unfortunatly
  21. so, why does it not work as well wtih regular coke?
  22. or crash-land a 767 on the decommissioned-runway-turned-racetrack at our dropzone's airport. (mind you, that was a wee bit before my time) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gimli_Glider http://www.silhouet.com/motorsport/tracks/gimliair.jpg
