of Hans eating fortune cookies?
-
fine then Mr. Choosey. How about the friday before
-
If you're willing to wait at the airport until Friday afternoon - I'll give you a lift
-
did anybody at the DZ see it? Those would be the people to ask - it's hard to guess causes over the internet. That being said - where is the stall point of your canopy in the toggle stroke? It almost sounds to me like you might have stalled half the canopy. That can cause funky stuff to happen like line slack, and easily cause spinning line twists.
-
moisture will help your canopy pack smaller. Enjoy it!

all right, I'll play She's a Border Collie. About 12 years old now. These pics are about 2 years old. The last one's my favourite

somebody correct me if I'm wrong: if the cypres was made in '00, and hasn't had it's 4 year, it will need the 4 year check to be jumped this year, but then need it's 8 year before you can jump it next season. (legally in the US) This is depending of course on the actual month of manufacture. You might get 2 seasons out of it (before 8 year) if it was manufactured late in the year. If I recall correctly, the checks are based solely on the DOM (+ 3 months), not the time between checks. You might want to consider this additional expense of 2 service "check-ups" possibly within a year

There was only one pen in my entire home, wanna guess where?
MrBrant replied to grue's topic in The Bonfire
why, was the pen up YOUR ass? -
First cutaway - not paying the beer fine
MrBrant replied to RandomLemming's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
dude - it's not a fine I think in the the US you're only allowed 22.5 (ish) pounds for carry-on. Sometimes you sneak though - sometimes you don't. -
I wouldn't be so sure of that.

Alti-2 has recently come out with a new version of their Armor. This one has an additional glass plate bonded to the silicon. If you have a damaged LCD screen, find your nearest field service rep, and have them send it in for repairs!

ah - there we go. I was having trouble imagining how one could possibly remove the RSL in an emergency situation. Now I'm on the trolley. thanks!

Have you ever forgot your goggles?
MrBrant replied to PilotLevi's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
yup - I would think that most people have done that at least once in their "career". Mine was a H&P that turned into a full altitude load halfway up. I jumped anyway, and squinted We also keep a pair of goggles in the plane's glovebox in case somebody does forget theirs (or they let them get sucked out the door while a student is being dispatched ) -
This seems to mean that the user is not even "permitted" to un-shackle the RSL from the main riser. Am I interpreting this wrong? I hope so - If not that's absolutely ridiculous!

Interesting! I did not know that. Is it the silicon coating the prevents it from adhering or something? In another thread, somebody mentioned using Dry Erase markers (http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=78056#78056). I imagine this would have the same problem of rubbing off (if not worse), but I wonder if it would make less of a mess...

Actually, I would be very surprised if it HASN'T been done. whether or not that person/people read this forum is the question in my mind. I'm not looking for a "This will reduce the tensile strength by 26.42573%", more along the lines of "I tried it, they lasted as long as the rest of the lineset", or "I tried it, the lines snapped after 3 months", or "sharpie markers do/do not damage lines"
-
Granted - you're right - "CRW friendly" was the wrong term I would still like to color the lines though. I'm sure it's been done (or at least though of) for canopies like Spectre's and such.
-
Hello my funky CRW brothers and sisters, I've started a thread Here about using permanent marker to color spectra. I thought you guys might have some better insights (making your non-CRW canopies more CRW friendly) to add to that thread. Thanks!!

I believe it's only Dacron that's avaliable in red. The lines on my canopy are good, i just want a few of them red. I don't mind just using marker to do it - providing it will not damage/degrade the line, or cause other unforseen consequences. That's what I'm asking. Edit: Expanding my question to include Vectran as well!!

I don't know if I'd want to load a baffed-out F-111 canopy much over 0.9:1
-
I want to color my centre and outboard A-lines Red to make in-air identification easier.
-
um, wasn't the Raider only a 220 sq. ft? I know Glide Path (Flight Concepts?) used to call the same canopy different names depending on its size (Raider, Clipper, Manta, wildfire?, etc.) - i thought the Raider was the 220 version of thier 9-cell F-111 line. Hopefully somebody can confirm, or correct me if I'm wrong.

unfortunatly, I'm going to have to say Winblows. 90% of the software I need is only available for PC.....
