  1. wow, I had completly forgotten about this thing. All the code, etc. from this was stolen along with my laptop last christmas. And, since i don't have my webserver thing anymore, its gone. It was written in about an hour-and-a-half, and was full of bugs anyway the Rigminder.net thing has worked well for me though.
  2. ah yogurt. if you've got diarrhea already, why not? Ate a litre (i was hungry) of that for breakfast last month. Ended up doing a little "spring cleaning"
  3. something you may also want to bring up with somebody more knowledgeable than me: Bigger is better - but only to a certain point. a reserve >> than your main could cause you troubles also. (a 2-out for example). For instance, my reserve is 60 sqft larger than my main. (main is a 188, reserve is a 248). Although I really like having the big reserve, it could cause problems for me if I were to ever have a 2-out. Usually container sizes wont let you do something like the above, but might be something worth giving thought to. Again, talk about this to somebody knowledgeable that you trust. (a real-life somebody )
  4. I was thinking of this a little while ago. Why would you want to do a delay, even with a high-alt h&p? I would, personally, take a sub-terminal reserve deployment, and a LOOOOONG canopy ride down, rather than an (unnecessary) terminal opening on a reserve. The reserve is my last chance to live, and I want to do everything I can to make sure that canopy opens undamaged. Sure, you might lose the $80 freebag, but you just left your $2000 main up at 10k anyway...
  5. for any students out there, I had very good luck with student universe
  6. "look ma! i'm eating with one hand, and posting with the other!"
  7. yes, this was an bit of an issue with an older firmware version. It has been fixed.
  8. get your mom to change her name to Anna. then tell people you did it for your mom.
  9. I'm not sure if any skydiving AAD's would work they way you have described. I dont' believe any aad on the market would activate solely based on speed. (this would be very bad for freefall). However, you might want to look at one called an FXC. there a little bit older, and purely mechanical. they "scare" alot easier than the newer versions, and the activation height is adjustable. (i'm not sure what happens when you crank one all the way up - it *might* just work - depending on what your activation speed needs to be) Just don't make it descend too quickly Edited to ask: What is your required activation speed? you may want to look into the "student" versions of the AAD's you mentioned above (cypres, vigil, etc). They tend to have lower activation speeds, and their "firing" height is generally set higher - typically about 1100 feet (i believe).
  10. It was designed specifically to do just that. Caters to the military market, where 30 000 feet, is 3 almost 4 times around the dial. This gives an approximation to where you are at all times (without having it watch it wind around-and-around-and-around, perhaps getting lost), while still giving the accuracy down low where you really need it. One man's idea of a design flaw, is another man's key feature
  11. You can get that on an analog. psssst. That's not analog

    who likes ups

absolutly hate 'em. Never received anything on time, they overcharge for "brokerage" fees, and they're a pain in the ass if you want to do your own paperwork. ' And i've never gotten anything from them undamaged. ever.
  13. That page has some cool stuff!. I gotta get me one of These!
  14. eek. I've never tried to re-stow a brake line on-the-fly. i don't think i'd want to. I would probably just wrap the unstowed one around my hand a few times, then practice rear-riser flares all the way to the ground - lol. (that's what I did when i broke a steering line on my Tri - it payed off) oh, and congrats on living there, Hydro
