I suppose that's probably why it's attached to the helmet with Velcro. Although that could get very expensive if you're prone to 'interesting' openings, but better your new toy, than your old head. With the unit being mostly in front of your face, it would be interesting to find out just how many would be lost. I've been hit in the back of the head, and once in the chin (bag-dump ), but never on the top of my head, or on the face above the nose. I'm really looking forward to when these hit the market, its an awesome concept! I'm sure there will be initial issues to overcome (as with any brand new idea-turned-product), but imagine having your altitude right in front of your face at ALL times, without having to move a single limb to see an altimeter, or break eye-contact with your group to check altitude. plus, it looks like a really sweet toy .

just a quick note, there are 2 main factors in being a cautious canopy pilot. The first is the actual canopy flying, and the second is canopy CHOICE. You cannot consider yourself a conservative flyer without meeting BOTH of those criteria. Note: I am not criticizing your W/L (I am in no position to do that), just pointing out the above. Edit: This is just my opinion of course, I am not a coach of any sort

wow, that's awesome. I had a Triathlon 220 as my first canopy. it was a great into canopy, and that is a GREAT price! I have since gone to a smaller 9-cell, but the tri was awesome for a first canopy. (as it's been said, its not quite as zippy as a spectre, but they're still fun to fly, and easy to land - you can even get some nice surfs out of them if you want). Mine opened nice and soft. Does anybody know if the Hybrid Tri's are on sale too? (At this price, i'm thinking if i can come up with the cash it will probably be a great CRW/future WS canopy)

hehe, actually, it was a purple helmet. (the VCR i used to transfer the vhs to computer was pretty fucked up). I actually took it on my own accord (as a joke). I was the only student from my FJC to actually wait around to jump - so I had my choice of any color gear (FJC ended at about 3pm, I didnt' jump until 9:30 pm. Gotta love those long June days) came back the next morning, and did the second oh, that reminds me of another funny story. I had just landed from jump number 2. (been in the sport about 12 hours at that point), and witnessed my first reserve ride. I watched this guy deploy, and start spinning. after a few revolutions, I heard people around me muttering "That's enough dave, stop spinning now. stop spinnnig. stop spinning". That's when he { fell out of his harness, and is about to FUCKING DIE! HOLY FUCKING SHIT!! }. Then, the round reserve came out, and I felt like a complete moron (as I should - hehe) I forgot these skydiver-types always have 2 canopies with them

Would the Skyhook RSL prevent a bag lock?
MrBrant replied to Hawkins121's topic in Safety and Training
I don't think that statment is correct..... (link from the RWS website): How the Skyhook handles malfunctions edited to fix link -
bah, from 6k you've got a good 25 seconds to 2300. Lots of time to do some quick RW 25sec - 7sec (tracking) gives you 18 seconds of working time! (more if your balls are bigger than mine ) edited: grammar & spel'in

where's the option for "I do it myself not because I don't trust anybody else, but because i'm too cheap"? or "What's a packer?"

Would the Skyhook RSL prevent a bag lock?
MrBrant replied to Hawkins121's topic in Safety and Training
(Although I am relativly new to the sport) I'm not so sure about this. If you had a reserve bag-lock, with a skyhook, would you not be towing your entire malfunciton'd main (assuming a cutaway from a partial) down with you. (This is a guess on my part, based upon the info that I have interpreted on the skyhook. Somebody feel free to correct this, if this would not be the case) I would think that would add up to a tremendous ammount of drag, and *might* be enough to break a baglock free. on a side note: would it not be extremely hard to pack a baglock with a freebag free-stows (is that what it's called? - the 2 locking stows, and the rest in a pocket, correct?) I guess where there's a will, there's a way there's a way, there's somebody stupid enough to do it. -
if/when you do call, post their answer here. I'm curious about this (as, I'm sure, many other people are)

i think you can find it on the RWS website. go to the micron page, then click on the link that says 'embroidery options' or something like that.
