Spence, Those that have been to your boogies and shaken your hand know the real deal. I may have only met you in passing a long while back but i know that the net atacks are just childish come backs for a lack of brain matter on thier part. Good will triumph over evil evry time. The 101st just started its return home from OIF 5. So you will ge tthe dubius pleasure of unloading stuff at the CROF. The club is closed, but we do have 2 DZ's less than an hour away, and if you go see the Division Freefall Safety Officer he can help you finish your students training and maybe get you set up with loaner Team gear, your training could damn near be for free. Hell he may even be able to get you on the Team if you wanted (or at least get you on some of the C-130/C-17 or UH-60/CH-47 jumps). Plus we have a pretty good relationship with several DZ's, all within 6 hours and with varied A/C types. Campbell is like any other big post, you have to put a little effort into your morale activities but once you do you'll never be bored. You'll go to Air Assault School (if not already qualified) guaranteed. Plus they run a Pathfinder Class that is expanding to 56 seats a month in August (2 more classes this FY and 13 classes for FY-07). The Division has ABN School and Ranger School slots it can never find enough volunteers to fill. You can advance pretty quick here, it is all up to you. The Pathfinder Course Cadre is also the ABN Dept. here and the Parachute Team (for now) that is where you can find me as soon as you get here. (207)798-4267 Learn the Division Song, you'll sing it a bunch

You are an Insperation for all! Keep up the good work! (Still waiting on WWP to get back to me about the idea we had discussed, no answer yet. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -
It is a military reference. In the military movement, personnel and equipment is referenced to a clock, your ass is 6 o'clock and your front is 12 o'clock. So "checkin' your six" is watching your ass. For example; I tend to check the six on the hot DZ mamas. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Thanks for the info Chris! Tell Larry to get well quickly. He might need a lttle less wing for filming now that he is lighter, aye? An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

I just figured some one from ops hada line there. I remember a few years ago you thought "swoopers" where crazy, now you is one! Have fun with it, it is sure impressive to watch. I am pretty conservative on my cross braced 107, as skydiving is soon to become my source for income. 21 years done and the boots is bein' hung up!! An Instructors first concern is student safety. Comfort? They are out of thier "comfort Zone". They learned "at Altitude" and now are "low". For us SL folks (or even Military where 800' is normal) this is in our "comfort zone" , so to us no big deal. Just My opinion. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

I have no dog in the fight but this is from the league; "Did you know that: Meet 3 of the MESL almost didn't happen? Skydive Wayne County was the scheduled host DZ for this weekend's meet. However, the aircraft arrived an hour and a half late and was a Beech-99 instead of the promised Caravan. The door on the 99 is not suitable for 4way competition. This could have proved embarrassing for the DZ, but all of the competitors recognized that this was not the fault of Skydive Wayne County, but rather the fault of Skydive Greensburg, who sent the wrong bird. The competitors extended their apologies to the Wayne County DZO then hopped in their cars and made the drive to Skydive Greene County in Xenia, OH. And the show went on despite a late start and only two teams competing. But the competitors didn't care about the low turnout. They enjoyed a more relaxed pace and still finished the meet with plenty of daylight left. Mystic Rhythmns scored a solid 9.7 average, moving them up to number seven on the NSL leader board. If not for four infringements and some glitches in round 6, a 10-point average was well within their grasp. Vortex struggled with exits and posted a 4.3 average despite an improvement in block work since the previous meet. They continue to hit their own goals. We look forward to another relaxed meet in August. Mystic Rhythmns and Vortex will be there." An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Tandems - What do you do up there behind your student?
matthewcline replied to Fast's topic in Instructors
It is not uncommon, it is a comfort and time issue. If your comfortable with you experience level and use an RW suit, cool. If your comfortable naked, cool. Some times an instructor may go from one type of jump to another and in order to save time just use one suit all day. And then again it may be the only suit a person has too.
