  1. I just wish the ReMax Team would stop dragging the colors and at least try and catch them. I know, I know, it is only "symbolic" but at least try. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  2. For the FSU and TN Titans football games the camera was placed at the 15 yard line and the wires went back to the spools, so we had from side line to side line and from the 15 yard line to the opposite end zone. Plenty of space. At one of the 1.5 mile speedways we had the front grass from pit entrance to just past half way down the pit lane and from the grand stand to the pit wall, huge by even some DZ's regular landing zones. It (the camera we worked with) only had "2" wires and moved back and forth on them to get into its various positions. The operator freaked me out during a practice jump by trying to keep the camera right in front of me, did you know they have a microphone too?, oops. At least it wasn't live. 3. I have done several Demo's (NASCAR and NFL) with the Camera set up in place. We just coordinate for it to be "Cornered" so we still have 75% of the Landing area. That space is still bigger than the PRO minimums. I think it is a good gimick for the NFL coverage, but not any thing of substance for NASCAR. An Instructors first concern is student safety. 4. Ted Strong makes the "Tridom" for Tandem I candidates. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  5. Max, Awesome! You have the numbers so feel free any time to give me a buzz, I am gonna break my own rule and carry the cell on the FTX next week. Keep your progress steady, with your positive attitude and drive, I think you'll find it hard not to over do it. but as others said don't over do it so you'll be good to go for your return to the air. And again to your wife, your an outstanding person and Max should take ya on a nice trip to a beach resort and let a cabana boy pamper ya! As an old fuddy duddy it is nice to see such support for a fellow "Screaming Eagle". An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  6. Looks like the World Meet will be even more exciting to watch from near and afar! An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  7. No offense was intended. Just a little home country pride is all, and maybe a little soldierly bantering
  8. I would not suggest you roll in to try outs with your own rig, it ain't no "boogy". All the Army's Demo Teams shoot for the same accuracy standards. The GK Team gets the soldiers who have jumps already (min 150) and most of the smaller Teams have to run a First Jump Course Program for their candidates and get them up to 500 to do a complete season. On a Demo Team you'll land in a lot of Stadiums. You need to be spot on it. Imagine missing Cinergy Field, The Colisium, Three Rivers, or any other stadium on a river edge, fuck the embarassment factor, you could die. Not only do you need to be able to land your demo canopy there, but your reserve too. Got to the GK web page and get the try out packet from there. Maybe Greg will post (if he hasn't already) and he can explien more to you. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

  10. Ah, the military mind at work. They always seem to give those of us who are most offensive the PC jobs. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  11. We have 4 here on our team for student training. They are set up to do either SL or AFF (ripcord or throw out). We have about 200 jumps on all containers and they have worked fine. No issues at all. I think we made a good decision when we replaced the older student rigs and went with the Wings model. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  12. Tell John (please) that morgan is buring up the tape of their flights together showing all her friends. She still talks very excitedly about it. Now My wife gets pissed at 2 of us for tying up the TV to watch Tunnel videos! I am not sure when we wil get out there again, but she will be playing hooky from school as soon as I know! 17. If your not using it for acanopy Hancock Fabrics usually carries some. But I do not know where they are in relation to you. Dupont used to have a web page that showed the products they make and used to have several camo patterns. but I have not had a reason to look it up in a few years. Call PD, PA, FCI etc. etc. and talk to them and see where the yall get their fabrics. They may even have some. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  18. Riding front can be a lot of fun. I have done it over 100 times now and still get a bit "nervy" though. But it has its advantages, being the I/E, I can work the new guys hard and be selective in my Students. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  19. I did about 6 hours over a weekend 3 weeks ago. Drop 'em a line and you'll enjoy the scenery, I know my Daughter did! An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

  21. Good deal Max. Keep up the good attitude and know we are all waiting for ya here at the PDT. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  22. Good point. I just figured that the amount of dust would be in the "parts per trillion", if not less, if evenly spread across the sands. In the contact areas it would be more of course. Oh, hey, thanks for the electronic work you do. It's helped me out of a jam or two. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  23. This would probably be an issue for the Tankers and the Infantry doing the BDA. The rest of the soldiers probably wont walk through the dust to much. Makes me wonder though, I was pretty close to some DU hits on various raids, we all got a good coating of debri dust on all of 'em. An Instructors first concern is student safety. 24. That is the nice thing about the USPA ISP and the Various Programs some DZ's have used for years, flexability. To a later post; Every jump counts, as there is a skill set that can be worked on each jump. i.e. on a SL jump why not look into using the risers and practicing the braked and not braked manuevers on the "A" license card? 25. Good for you Dan. Demoing and asking advice is smart. So far you have gotte npretty good advice and not much else needs to be added. So have fun with your NEW Sabre II 170. (Ooops that slipped out.) An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
