I drink alone all the time, some times by choice! Oh all funds would be donated to chairty of course, but really how hard would it be for any one to figure out 1-800-sky-pixy is your home number? (now, how many will actually call that number just to see?) An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

If a team puts a 50+ pointer on the board it will probaly be a permanent world record or at least the altimers will take hold of me before it is broken. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

As I posted in the numerous other eye surgery threads, I had Lasik (all laser) and was jumping (cleared buy the Doc) in 30 days. A week after returning to theair Iwas at a T-I/E course and then a month later in the desert. I went from 20/450 L eye, 20/500 R eye to 20/15 in each eye. Of course nearing 40 my wife is getting a kick out of my slowly starting to show the signs for needing reading glasses. She did warn me though, she is a Licensed Dispensing Optician with 15 + years in the field. To any one thinking about getting any of the proceedures. Don't rush into it and get the full and proper treatment with recovery. For us average folk we only have these two eyes, so lets be careful with em. (yep I know I added no new info only confirmed what most have said

Plus with you wild outfits, we would be at a loss if you happened to stay behind the lens! An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -
do yo umean the "Ranger" goggles that have a frame but no temples they are all elastic? I laugh when we are up in the C-130 or C-17 and a Jumpmaster is wearing those. If he is doing his job right (and does have those things super tight) they will stretch out from his face 6 to 8 inches during the check to the rear (it is 150mph + out there) and whe nhe brings his head back in POW!! I have seen many a tough Paratrooper cry in the door at 800'. The model from "Scipt" called "Micro" works well. Most of the Cadre here use them on thier issued GatorZ Convertors. It is very simular to flaking, but when the canopy is being a bit rotten and giving some "flack" you start to "Flack" back and that act is called "flacking". An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Glad to hear he is home with you, must be why you left at near "Noon" each day. Yep got the shirts, it is the exclusive DZ wear these days. Cool about the rigs I got canopies ready for them! Glad Colon will ge this knee fixed up, wish him well from me if I can't do it personnal like. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Is going from a WL of 1.1 to 1.4 too much too soon?
matthewcline replied to Newbie's topic in Safety and Training
Kind of like Ron's situation, I did a dramatic down size (70 feet dropped in one step), I had the "I am tough and not stupid so no worries" attitude. About 5 or 6 jumps later I was doing multiple PLF's across about 150 yards of dirt, cross wind and rapidly approaching a hanger. I got into a situation I had handled before but with a 170 not a 100. I got VERY VERY VERY LUCKY and only had to re-inflate my ego, dust off my pride and the borrowed rig. Did I mention I was lucky? Very Lucky? Don't skip any steps, I am gonna need you to coach me in better canopy skills in a year or two I will be looking for a refresher, it is some thing I do from time to time, even though I am "qualified" to fly the canopy I have. Jumping through clouds
matthewcline replied to lisamariewillbe's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
"MAY NOT" It means NO. Doesn't look to me like it is optional, just becuase it is done "normally" because of the weather pattern doesn't make it legal (as an association can't be a legal rep but a Gov Organization can, I do not know what the UK version of the FAA is called). I could use the whole friends jumping off a bridge analogy but it was made up pre-BASE. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -

What is funnier is it IS true. The pilot still flies there and we still jump there. Now there is abunch of placards that say "no farting in the plane" all over the DZ. Some time it is cool to influence change, or is that in-flatulance change? An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Ahh, now I got it! A seeing eye plane! Damn what will they think of next? An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

A few years ago the team mates and I happened to be in a 182 climbing to 10K (that was the goal at least). Well at around 4K (dead of winter mind you so 35ish degrees F) a god awefull smell fills the plane. The pilot starts gagging and we start weaving all over the sky. The pilot opens the window and starts to yell at us that who ever did it better get out now! We aren't going another foot higher till then. No one is moving or taking any credit and all of us are looking a bit sheepish. The pilot opens the door and says "he who delt it, better get out, NOW!". It is cold, noisy and we all are trying to avoid jumping and landing out (we happened to be a bit off the DZ). We orbit a little and the smell doesn't seem to be going away, it maybe even getting stronger! The pilot tells us again his ultimatum and finally a few heads fill the door "for Air". The pilot says "last time or I am quiting for the day and your not jumping". One of the Team says "hey dudes take one for the team and get out". The pilot states "no! the one who did get out". I tell him ok make a pass close enough he can at least land on the airport then he will get out. So I step in as the Team Leader and tell the other three I would jump with the person who did it, but he will jump, final. I climb out as we aproach the DZ and look back to see all three of the others packed along the strut and step, grinning from ear to ear, one of them yells "it was nickle night and free nachos at the lodge last night, we all went". OK, ready, set, go! I missed the exit count and left last and saw the face of the most pissed off Pilot I have ever seen in my life! Buy the time we walked in the other half of the team had made 3 loads and the pilot had complained to the DZO so much he pulled us aside to "admonish" us for a few minutes. I didn't feel so guilty about farting after the other three admitted it too. An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

AIR: a combination of components used by all living breathing entities? No? Assemble, Inspect and Repack? No? Asshole In Rear? No? Airborne Infantry Ranger? No? I give up!
