I'll second that. I got stung by a bluebottle in Australia, the little sucker marks didn't go away for 2 months. Wrapped around my left arm and waist, I thought I was on fire. Very traumatic for a 10 year old, let me tell you. 2. The anaerobic part comes in when you don't get enough oxygen to your muscles. It's called anaerobic respiration, one byproduct of which is lactic acid. So you can have anaerobic respiration while doing aerobic activity. Anaerobic activity is like weightlifting, in which you are using your muscles but not raising your heart and respiration (breathing) rate. You're right though, stretching is one of the best ways to squeeze lactic acid out of your muscles, as well as enhance the ability of blood, and therefore oxygen, to get to all the muscle tissue. The reason we're sore after jumping is because skydiving is a very physical sport. We're trying to fly our bodies through 120+ mph winds, and then stuff a big piece of nylon into a little bag to do it again. That doesn't include extra-curricular activity after the beer light goes on. So stretch regularly throughout the day. And drink dihydrogen monoxide. And then stretch again. 6. All the way through AFP, every time I was riding to altitude, I'd think, "This is the LAST time I ever do this. It's just not worth going through the fear every time." Look at me now, three months later, I'm jumping whenever I can and have bought my own gear. Don't worry, it really does get better. If you're not afraid, you're insane. A big part of what I love about this sport is that you MUST conquer your fear, or you'll just stand there and watch everyone else have all the fun. Get in the air again, you'll remember why you jumped in the first place.

  20. Yeah, I just ruined my project that I've been working on for 2.5 years. I had only a few more steps and I'd be done, but now I essentially have to start over. 24. You're going to be jumping alone a lot at first, just absorbing the feeling and getting comfortable in the sky. Jump, do whatever you want. Practice your sit. Practice your track (perpendicular to flight line!). Just play around and see what you can do. With ~75 jumps, I've done maybe 20 with others, and learned a ton on every jump I've done. You gotta get in the sky though.
