I've got one, but it's ALL MINE! woo ha ha ha Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams

It's true, all they ask is 10 minutes of hauling ass, then they sleep the rest of the day. Some people think they have a bad reputation, but they're really sweet dogs, very calm. I'm lazy, always have been. Somehow I manage to pull off what I need to at the last minute. I'm like the kid who eats dessert before the veggies, I give myself the reward before I do the work. Anyone have strategies for getting done what needs to get done when it needs to get done? 1. Stop posting on dz.com and get to work, dumbass. I'm a grad student, make almost nothing, and am quickly going into debt paying for my new addiction. No, not the coke, the other addiction. No, not the alcohol, the other other addiction. I got a ticket last Wed. getting down to SDC. 20 over in a 65. Only a $75 ticket in IL, in WI it'd be like $175. Yes, I speed. Always. At least 15 over, otherwise it feels like I'm crawling. C'mon, c'mon, places to go, people to do! I'm in a similar situation, and I bought a 170. Better to have something big over your head at first, is my thought. As newbies, we're more likely to get ourselves into a corner, and it's better to have lots of fabric over your head if you do. My W/L is ~1:1. That's just fine until I can really fly my canopy and put it down wherever I want it safely under a variety of conditions. Have you read Billvon's list? Do so. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/safety/detail_page.cgi?ID=47 Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams

That's what I said. Then I tried it. You'll see. There's nothing boring about planning and launching a 12-way. Course, I've only done it once, but it's in no way dull. And when you get several points on a 4 way it feels like you're just whipping through them, everybody falling and moving as one... oh man, try yerself some rw! Yeah, right. And you can't apply all [activity partakers] are hot to any activity, because it only works for skydiving. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams

All skydivers ARE hot. It's an attitude towards the world that makes them hot... of course, most of them are physically above par too, which never hurts. Good luck with the chick, if she's a skydiver you're gonna need it. I have a pair of peerser goggles, they're on the same site already linked. Good for starting out, more comfortable than the cheapo ones they give you for student status, but they tend to cut off your peripheral vision. Just make sure you get something clear, the instructors need to be able to make eye contact to communicate with you. I can see FOX doing that, but CNN? I'm disappointed. I'm getting really tired of the dumb people in the media, it's like they're intentionally aiming at the lowest common denominator... oh wait, they are. Love the expression! Mind if I use that? I've got a trick I use when I've got a song stuck in my head, I just think of "Satan is my Motor" by Cake. It seems to just be a eraser for my brain. No other song works for me though. Wierd, eh? How to Start Your Day With a Positive Attitude

The greenies work in mysterious ways, my friend. You know there's gonna be someone who makes this into a debate, sometimes it seems like they're 3 deep on this board. Blue man group is awesome! I got to see them free when I was a student in boston. The theater where they were playing had a deal for students, if you bring 10 or more people to help set up and clean up you see the show free. Pretty kickass, I must say. We had fun finding glow-in-the-dark paint on us later.
