Wingsuit Landings on Comcast's "Fan"
Dougiefresh replied to FlyinNover's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It's a tabloid. They just make stuff up. Usual headlines involve space aliens and bigfoot. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams -

So this article is from the Weekly World News... You realize that it's bullshit, right? Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams -
I always thought they were called that cuz they were made of nylon, not cuz skydivers wore them... maybe I'm wrong tho. Wouldn't be the first time. A facility involved with any and all aspects of the sport of skydiving, which can include but is not limited to manifest, airplane storage and repair, runway, instruction, rigging (care of parachute equipment), gear shop, and parachute landing area. Does that work? oh, forgot bar/party area. It's not really a dropzone unless there's a place for people to get hammered. How many students do not continue to jump?
Dougiefresh replied to mazevedo's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yes, this is the patented "train yourself" program. You tie the corners of a bedsheet together and jump off the roof. Bedsheet: $15 Hospital bill: $485 The USPA recommends AFF. More expensive but less painful. http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,1282,65772,00.html Internet pornography is the new crack cocaine, leading to addiction, misogyny, pedophilia, boob jobs and erectile dysfunction, according to clinicians and researchers testifying before a Senate committee Thursday. narth.com These guys are scary. Highly educated people with a preconceived set of ideas trying to "fix" homosexuals. If I can hold the canopy stable, I'm gonna try my flare a few times, then land the sucker. If I can't control it easily, see ya. I accepted that a long time ago. My dad wandering into my room and saying, "Hey, that's OUR music" didn't even dissuade me, I just cranked the Jimi louder. Nothing holds a candle to anything from '68-'69. That tracking pic is sweet. Nice shot, it's going as my background.

Yes, but if you're not real into jazz, J.C. can be hard to get an ear around. I'd start with "A Love Supreme" or "My Favorite Things" (the entire albums, you can't just listen to one song with this guy). Also check out: Ella Fitzgerald (one of the most amazing stunning expressive voices ever) Louis Armstrong (likewise) Miles Davis (best trumpet player of all time) that should get you barely scratching the surface of jazz. Blues: Howlin' Wolf Muddy Waters John Lee Hooker B.B. King Robert Johnson start there. Let me know if you want more.

Ah, damage to the PILOT. I'm sure he's flying a desk now... I understand they're not nearly as much fun, and "I fly a Harrier" is a pretty sure bet for a pick up line. Poor bastard. Man, there's more flaming going on in that thread than in SC! How do you figure? You don't drop a jet in the drink and have no damage. Did you mean before the pilot screwed up there's no damage? Do NOT get a bird for a pet, especially a cockatiel. I lived with some for a year... Damn things never shut up. Chirping in the morning, chirping at night, and when they see you they go apeshit on the chirping. Lived with a parrot for a year too (same roommate, different bird ) and that thing would never shut up either. Except it squaked and yelled. It could talk a little so it would keep yelling "Hello birdy" and shit like that. Get a dog.
