October is equally bad here weatherwise; the weather is very unpredictable then and it can get quite cold and/or windy. The days are shorter too.

It could've been much worse I can still see the jet siitting over there, so at least the pilot remembered to take the keys with him!

You betcha!! Although it's extremely unlikely that it'll get as cold as it did last year, the temperatures do fluctuate here in August. So far, the long range forecasts are indicating that the end of next week, it'll be dry and upper eightees/middle sixties. The absolutely best weather forecasting you'll get for this area is from the REAL meteorologists (Ed and Mike) here at the University of Illinois. As a matter of fact, you can speak with him personally, on the air tomorrow morning during the weekly, Firday morning, "Talk to ED/Talk to Mike" show ... there's a toll free number. Tell him yer a WFFC conventioneer and that you want to know what the weather's gonna be like the next couple of weeks. I will be at the WFFC Thursday night; I'm staying in the Illinois Skydiving Center DZ row tent, which was located next door to the DZ.COM tent last year - should be again this year. One more thing ... do you think you could get my logbook from Sparky's locker at SDC and bring it with you when you come down next week? Thanks!

The mail service would work just fine! But hold on, my friend, freeflight, is thinking of going up to SDC tomorrow ... if he does, then he should be able to pick it up then if Heather will be there, otherwise mailing it would be the best solution.

Why? Because eating the larger ones can dangerously increase wing-loading!

Oh man! Thanks Beth ... that would be ideal, since Debbie just reminded me that we have to go to a wedding July 30th , so I won't be going to SDC then.
