Hey folks! Just an update on a subject that I know is close to everyone's heart ... Liannimal and I dropped in to the new WFFC Rantoul field office and we found the staff hard at work gearing up for the final stretch. Anticipation is in the air!!! There's less than three weeks to go ... woohoo. Anyway, the big news is that the showers are just about ready...and, believe me, they are HUGE! The pipes are in and the shower heads are about to be installed. B1, Jeran, Liannimal, The Jello Guy, and I took a preview tour (and a symbolic shower :shock: ) in the men's shower room!! There's also this really cool mural painted on the wall in the men's shower room that the painters almost whiped out, so we started a petition to SAVE the Mural :roll: . So if you happen to be in the neighborhood, and want to stop by to say hello or to help out, don't forget to pick up a sharpie and sign the petition in the men's shower room! Join us at Illinois Skydiving Center, located just 10 miles N. of Rantoul, IL at the Paxton municipal airport (1 mi. W of the intersection of I-57 and Illinois 9). A Beech-18 Turbine will be here for the weekend before WFFC, July 31-Aug 1 and will stay for the week. So if you want to warm up with us before the WFFC or maybe you're just arriving early - we'd love to pump you up!!

I live five miles from the Champaign airport and have done the Ohare, Midway, Bloomington, and Champaign things many times over the years. I've had my connecting flights to/from Champaign cancelled/delayed so many times that I never use that airport anymore. That's not to say that it isn't ok most of the time, but I prefer Bloomington or Midway. Ohare is a major hassle. Bloomington has free parking. All things considered, my choice is usually Midway. Midway has lots of direct flights, is smaller than Ohare, so it's much easier to get around. I'd much rather spend an hour driving from Midway to Rantoul than to spend an hour wondering if my connecting flight to Champaign is going to go - it's happened to me too many times. Anyway, have a good trip, and remember to stop by and visit us in Paxton, IL - Illinois Skydiving Center - we're only ten minutes north of Rantoul on Illinois 9 and I-57. We'll have a Beech-18 Turbine there from July 31 through the start of the WFFC, so if you happen to get here a coupla days early come do some jumps!

Yeah ... I heard there's gonna be a lot of Pathetic Losers there this year.
