She collects animals

My wife makes mine. I've been wearing it for about two years now. Never take it off. She sells 'em on eBay. Mine is a braided leather one, but she also makes beaded ones. The cool thing is that she makes the beads herself (lampworked beads).

What is the weirdest thing your cat/dog does?
ChangoLanzao replied to flyinghonu's topic in The Bonfire
We have three dogs. PeeWee is a toy Manchester Terrier he has trained us to let him out whenever he "twangs" the doorstop in our bedroom (The doorstop is one of those metal springs with a rubber bumper on the end. He twangs the doorstop and then sits there and looks at us for about ten seconds and then repeats, until we get the message. He must think we're really stupid. Buster aka Mr. "B" is a pointer and loves to eat the "good" parts out of our dirty underwear. That's the only reason we pick up dirty clothes off the floor. Nilla is our Jack Russel/Beagle mix. She scares us sometimes ... she opens her crate from the outside and gets in it to take a nap ... when she's bored, she likes to tip the trash can in our office over just to sit there and watch us set it up again. Nilla prances around the house with her bowl in her mouth when she's hungry. They have their own web page. -
Load it full of piss and you'll see that it is working fine.

It's a DNS resolution problem. It should be easy to fix, but the method of fixing it depends specifically on how your networking is configured. Start by calling your ISP. Of course, I'm assuming that you have rebooted the machine and that didn't fix the issue.

Sky dive in Lake Havasu City AZ.
ChangoLanzao replied to mrpilotman's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Yeah whoo boy ! What a great place 125 degrees in the summer....dustdevils....windier than shit and COLD in the wintertime. This aint a new idea...anybody remember Skydive Mels at Bullhead City ? Good luck. bozo Yeah ... here in Illinois it's cold in the winter, humid as hell in the summer, rains WAY too much, and is windy as hell in the spring and fall. We have "dust devils" here too, but at least in the desert you can see 'em! I am way more comfortable in 125 degrees with 10% humidity than 95 degrees and 95% humidity which is what we have here in Illinois often during the summer. Lake Havasu City COLD in the winter?? Compared to what?? -
Cajones are drawers, which perhaps are known to speak in South Carolina. The spanish word for balls is cojones. Edit: CLICKY

Hey Zeppo! The WFFC has HUGE landing areas and lots of safe places to land. Don't believe the myths you hear about it being more dangerous for low-time jumpers. All DZ's are dangerous; this is a dangerous sport. You minimize the risks for yourself by paying attention and by making and following good plans, wherever you are. If you have the time, you should come to Rantoul a week early and get to know the staff and the local jumpers by volunteering to help out with the set up. The local DZ is now only 5 miles from Rantoul, so you could also do a bunch of jumps with us BEFORE The Convention begins and get to know the skies over Rantoul ahead of time The best thing about the WFFC is that it is a giant REUNION. As you spend more time in the sport, you'll realize that Skydiving is a social sport. Those of us who attend WFFC for the social aspects ALWAYS have a great time, even when we end up doing fewer jumps than we planned.

Dayum! That would be a great place to jump I don't live anywhere near there, but would definitely spend several weeks there during the winters. I have a friend who lives in L. Havasu City so I already have a great place to stay. I'd guess you'd be able to easily afford the King Air because of the number of tandems you could do when the snowbirds flock. That place is one gigantic swoop pond! London Bridge Skydiving Center? -
Weird stuff. Thanks for the reminder! I had forgotten they were there, taking up space
-
[replyGeez fall rates among those jumpers must be that of a damn flying squirrel... No kidding! ... I'd bet they could launch an eight-way out of a 182

I guess it's been about six years since I switched to cell-only.

I wonder what they mean by "Mejicano" though. My guess is that they are speaking "Chicano" or "Spanglish" Or perhaps they are annoyed when you use some conjugations that are almost never used in Mexico. Mexican Spanish is my native language, but I've grown up (since I was two), in Brooklyn, and Chicago ... I've lived in East Central Illinois for most of my life. Chicagoans think we speak like hillbillies here! :-D I think that the most generally acceptable dialects of Spanish (and English) are radio and TV news people. Usually the accents that you'll hear in soap operas are pretty clean and can be understood by Mexicans, Chicanos, Cubans, Pochos, Puerto Ricans and most of the Spanish-speaking South Americans - just like the midwestern form of American English is the one that is most universally understood, even in places like Texas, New Jersey, or New Orleans. -
I'll be there, of course I have the DZ.COM tent supplies that Sunny turned over to me last year ... lights, extension cords and decorations. 2 fans, 3 coolers, the kiddie pool, the neon palm tree, packing tarps a few mini garbage cans, and some various other stuff

Get a used sportie; it'll be affordable and he'll dig it. Then he'll be able to "upgrade" to a Softail, if that's what he eventually desires...and you'll ride the bike you picked out By getting him a bad-ass sportie now, you'll save the difference so he can go for the Softail later. I'd start by shopping locally. Take a biker along along who knows what to look/listen for.

Something with Acrobat and IE is freezing my computer
ChangoLanzao replied to lewmonst's topic in Photography and Video
Even if you uninstalled Acrobat, your system could have thousands of .tmp files left over on it. Search your filesystem for all of the acr*.tmp files and delete them. When you say that it doesn't download the new version, I'm assuming that you are attempting the install off the web page and it just seems to stop responding...if so, you might need to press Alt-Tab to make the "accept or decline" window appear. This screen is sometimes hidden behind other windows during the setup. Also, check C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\7.0\Cache and delete all the files in there if there are any. It also doesn't hurt to run disk cleanup occassionally to delete all temporary files from your machine. Just some things to try.
