By wrong place, do you mean Wyoming?

Well, since many people still feel that women who are raped somehow deserved it for dressing provacatively or "leading the guy on", it may be a while before some people accept this very simple fact. For what its worth, I respect you for trying.

Hey now- check with the mods! That's just the forum rules as I understand them! I'm not sure what the group size limitation is before it becomes a personal attack! A "group" of two might be pushing the envelope a bit.....

Yes, its an interesting "quirk" in this forum. As I recall, I used the term "homophobic" once in this forum, in a very general way not directed at any one person and I was still accused of making a personal attack. The way I understand the forum rules, it is OK to make blatantly bigoted statements about a GROUP of people, but if you call the individual who made those statements a bigot, that's a personal attack.

Remember me telling you that you are an angry person? Well until you come to grips with this i really don't think you'll get past it trying to force your agenda on others. Remember the meds, and counseling i advised you to get? Now you've added evil to anger, it really makes the issue far more complex than it originally was. That man said nothing that was evil in my opinion. C'mon, lighten up. When you go off on these tirades, it makes you look as if your the one who has the ass for "breeders? I'm quite sure your a very intelligent person with lots to offer. I also believe your a very likeable person, but your pent up frustration is getting in your way. No one is bashing you, no one hates you, and i haven't noticed any militants in the area. Wow- its been said already, and better, but that's just totally out there and uncalled for. Talk about passive hostility! but he's the one with issues? Maybe you ought to be taking your own advice. Associating all homosexuals with child molesters IS evil, how could it not be? By "Lighten Up" do you really mean "roll over and take it"?? I think he's stating his point really clearly and logically, and he doesn't need my help but your post, all of it, was just plain wrong. Far worse than blatant bigotry, IMO.

The last time I saw my parents remotely happy together and affectionate with each other, I was 10 years old and didn't know what sex was. I'm the youngest of 4 and even now its hard to fathom them doing it even 4 times. In theory, I'd like to say rock on, but if I saw it??? In my house, that would have been a very rare occurrence anyway!

Well, for starters, I generally enjoy both giving and receiving gifts! To some extent, I don't want to embarrass someone with an extravagent gift if I know they cannot or will not reciprocate, nor do I want to continually "raise the bar" year after year. (and there are years, like this one, when extravagent gifts are out of the question anyway!) But honestly, this is only an issue with the people on the "fringe" on my gift list, not my close friends and family- and by "fringe" I guess I mean co workers and my SO's friends and family, because they are different every year. But if my best friend or my sister gives me a $50.00 piece of jewelry and all I can give her this year is a $15.00 bottle of wine, or vice versa, we'll both be OK with that. I do feel a little bit awkward if someone I wasn't expecting to exchange gifts with suddenly gives me something, especially if its something really nice, and I don't have much, if anything for that person! And I guess if I went out of my way to put together a really, special gift for someone, and all I got in return was a $10.00 gift card to use at WalMart, I might just be a little put out. I think most kids pay attention to how much they get vs. how much their brothers and sisters get. When they are really young, they look at the number of packages, but at some point they also start taking into consideration what things cost, too.

how the HELL could anyone EVER be a heroin addict?
tigra replied to weegegirl's topic in The Bonfire
Well, here's to hoping you get comfortable enough giving the injections that you can do it without hurting the person you are caring for, but not so comfortable that you would feel OK about injecting yourself with heroin, animal tranquilizer or anything else. I found out last year that two people I know/ knew had heroin addictions and I was shocked in both cases. One of them died from an overdose, and her mom found her body, next to the drug paraphanalia. The other was stealing from her employer to pay for her habit- the employer finally got wise to the theft, and the drug addiction came out in the process. Now she's doing time. Both were in their mid 20s, attractive young women with good careers, born and raised in suburbia. The woman doing time has 2 young kids. Heroin doesn't discriminate, I guess. -
That pretty much sums it up!

She WAS a 16 year old girl, however and what she's saying is that when she was a rebellious teenager, her parent's lack of trust in her caused her to not trust or confide in them. Trust works both ways. Ideally, as a parent, you want you children to feel like they can come to you when they are in trouble. I think step one is talking, step two could very well involve online "spying", searching her room, and all of that because you do need to do all you can to protect her. But the truth is, if she's determined to hide something from her parents, she will. There is no easy answer, and no, I'm not a parent.

The other way of looking at it is this- with cash, the person can take the money and do something practical with it, pay bills, etc. If your idea is to give the person a GIFT, a gift card or gift certificate at a store you know they like is a better idea. Then maybe they will use it to buy something for themselves they would not ordinarily buy.

There's plenty of humor here, its just that most of it isn't intentional.

That's the stuff I like too! I also like almond butter done the same way- almost sinful!

I think he was very very bad -I missed most of it, but I do know he was warned a few times and kept going. Anyway, isn't his time out over yet? It IS the holiday season afterall!

Me too- tonsils and wisdom teeth still here, no problems. Funny, because i used to get tonsilitis a lot when I was a kid, but I guess I outgrew it.

a) mine was bothering me and b) most doctors *say* that, but lots of people get the hardware removed for a number of reasons.

I'd say it was a test on Trump's part and Randall failed. He's absolutely been "playing God" and self promoting for the past 4 years AND the show is losing popularity with each season. Hence the multiple firings this year and the possibility that in the end he might really hire two- it kept people interested and watching. Its win/win for Trump when he can do something to boost ratings for next season AND screw with people at the same time. That said, fair question or not, Randall should have seen through it. He gave the wrong answer, and I still feel that Trump will (or already has) offer Rebecca a "real" job in his organization which she may or may not want. It might be easier for her to get past the whole reality show stigma within the Trump organization than outside it-who knows? And that's assuming she really does want a career in the corporate world! BTW- I wonder if Surreal life is recruiting Alla!
-
I think Trump has already made the decision to hire her as well, but publicly asked Randall for a reason. Randall could have made himself look really good, but instead he looked like a jackass on national TV. Trump set him up and he's still going to hire Rebecca!

Sadly, I doubt the cops would understand this was my way of making it a safer commute for everyone on the road!
-
I think it should be mandatory for my SO whenever he gets behind the wheel in heavy traffic. It sure would make MY commute home more pleasant and I actually think it would make the roads safer for everyone else too!
-
I'm kind of surprised Trump hired him. In spite of a great season long "interview" he showed his true colors by continuing to attack her in the final boardroom when she had NOTHING bad to say about him. Trump tried to get him to shut up a few times- he was literally talking himself out of a job. Speaks volumes for the self centered ass that he is- his final "decision" that there should be only one was just icing on the cake. The thing is, if Trump wants a true apprentice, the 23 year old tough as nails whizz kid is exactly right for the job. My guess is she'll end up with a "real" job in the Trump organization while Randall gets little more than the title. After a year, he'll go back to school, get another degree or two and continue running his own businesses.

I just had the plate and screws removed from my fibula on Wednesday. It was in for over 2 years, not bent or broken. I wonder if you started weighbearing a little too soon and that's what stressed the plate? Shouldn't be an issue as long as you are healing OK, but I also don't think its all that common- he was probably just trying to make you feel better.

I wonder just how many of these shows they film that never get on the air. Remember the previews for "Meet your new neighbors"? or something like that? ABC was going to run it last fall- a reality show about a group of ultra conservative upper middle class white folks on a cul de sac having to choose their new neighbor- the choices included a black family, a large hispanic family, a younger biker type couple with neon hair and tattoos, and a gay couple. (pretty much every stereotype out there.......) Gee, after running the promos for a few weeks, they suddenly decided the show wasn't such a good idea! Ya think? The worst thing is- for every one they realize is "ill advised" they air 3 more that are worse! But I still love Survivor and am oddly fascinated by The Apprentice........

Slice it up and fry it in butter. Its only nasty of you think about it for too long!
