    How do you explain the DROP in crime when Kennesaw put its gun law into effect? How do you explain Chicago's huge drop in homicides after the death penalty was effectively eliminated in Illinois? Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways? I can bet the answer to both of the questions has nothing to do with the death penatly.

    Are countries with strict gun laws likely to have harsher punishement for criminals too? Just curious, as I think that would have more of an effect on crime rate than firearms access would.

Good for you. 23 actually. I wish you would take your own advice. You had asked a question, I answered it. My landings are nothing a few thousand jumps can't fix. You have proven otherwise.

    I would assume that once the car is started, the doors lock automatically. At least that's the way it works in my car...

    Watch it. I have 23 jumps, and all landings have been safe. The peas are a little close the hangar for me to land in them safely with my jump #'s, not that it matters in this conversation. The only answer I'm prepared to give is "Ask your instructor", and that's been said many times. Once again, watch it. Nothing you said would help him out. Nothing I could say would either, so I chose to say nothing. I wasn't trying to be a smart ass. Deal with it. I'm not, and I don't give advice to people I'm not qualified to give it to, which at this point is pretty much everybody. I wish you would do the same. If it doesn't work, you need to reconsider your choice of DZs. See my statement above. My landing's haven't been that great, but then again I'm not giving canopy advice like you are.

    I wish they would just legalize it and tax the hell out of it. It'd save the billions of dollars that are being used to keep offenders in prisons, and be a nice little source of revenue for the gov't.

    I doubt that. Learn from the mistakes of others, you won't live long enough to make them all yourself. See above response. You're contradicting youself. You say they'll give good advice, but you say they're hypocrites... Which is it? PD doesn't make that one in a 110. I'm thinking of a five letter word..... Hmm.. Troll!.. That's it.

    Two words: Sick Days. It worked great for me until I walked in the next day after calling in, and my boss asked me if I got any jumps in. She told me that if the weather is nice if/when I take a sick day, that I better have a doctor's note or some good pictures....

    I think there should be helmet laws, but similar to the ones in Texas. Helmets are mandatory, but exemptions are available. To get the exemption, a few criteria have to be met, one of them is a certain amount of insurance. I've never seen the laws actively enforced here. Most of the guys I've seen riding w/o helmets are usually doing 130mph down the highway, and probably don't even have a license to ride the damn things anyway....

    Yep. I heard the writer on the Tom Leykis show a few months ago, and he shared alot of interesting statistics. It was kind of funny that there were still people that called in to gripe at him.

    Teri has been dead for 15 years. What's wrong with living with another woman? I haven't heard that this is the case. If he was going against her wishes to stay alive in her current condition, what motivation would he have to let her die? None, he could just walk away. She is essentially brain dead. What good is any kind of rehabilitation going to do? I seriously doubt that is the case. While he may have removed pictures on the wall, I doubt that was the reason. Sounds like a reporter is showing alot of their opinion in their reports. I've yet to hear anything from a doctor saying that any amount of rehabilitation is possible. If you have such information from a credible source, I would like to see it. You're assuming that she wanted the exact same things that her family wanted for her.

    Teri Schiavo is dead. Why keep her body alive? What actions are you referring to? I have been watching the news (which is probably the most biased source for information anyway) and I haven't seen anything that would make me not believe him. Her husband of many years relayed that message to everyone. He has nothing to gain in her death. I haven't seen or heard anything that would lead me to believe that he has any other agenda than making sure he did what she wanted.

    AND SAD... I VIVIDLY remember one of my teachers, a nun, spanking a misbehaving student (not me) with a paddle in front of the class...student was very embarrassed & the rest of us were afraid one of us might be next! END of problem for the rest of the year. Not now of course, now you don't DARE touch the little darlings or someone will be suing for LOTS of money & another attorney will have a brand new boat paid for! Agreed. I think it was a smart decision on the part of the school, but it is sad that it was a measure they felt was necessary for their own protection (against lawsuits, etc...)
