I'm lost here. Are you happy because you got a package, or happy because UPS actually got the package you were expecting delivered to you?
-
I have a couple of ideas. The first one starts with you coming to South Texas. I fixed it for ya. Weather up here around Dallas has been crap on the weekends lately. Looks like it s going to be raining this weekend too.
-
Wow. Looks like one of us has some time on their hands...
-
How big is yer head/what size did you get? I've got a big melon and I'm thinking about getting a FF helmet, but I'm not exactly sure what will fit me

Down here in TX they've got similar laws, and in Oklahoma it is now considered a Class V controlled drug. I think there is some kind of meth problem down here.

We're not talking about hijackers on a jet here in this situation. By no means am I saything that action shouldn't be taken. I am saying that if I was in the situation described in the thread (you should actually read it),what the actions I would take are, given then chance to think them through. I don't know his intent. But we are discussing an armed robbery, not some guy coming in a randomly killing people. I do know that If I fire and miss, I will likely provoke return fire that could kill other innocent people. Given my lack of currency firing a handgun, it is more likely that my use of a gun would make the situation worse. If you will actually read what I posted at least 3 times, the actions I stated were based on a situation on which the armed robber had not fired the weapon How would you feel if you fired upon the armed robber, untentionally killed an innocent person standing nearby, then the police find out the gun was fake?
-
So in your mind are there no situations where having and using a gun make things better? I never said there were none, just that until the robber has started shooting (IF he ever does), there are more situations where drawing the gun would make things worse than better.
-
Here is a quote from an earlier post of mine: I was referring to hypothetical situations where gunfire had not yet occured. That probably wasn't very clear.
-
Yes. By looking at each situation, and the possible outcomes, I could determine that my actions are more likely to make the situation worse for everyone involved.

While I agree that they should be vigilant in all their duties, given the nature of the accused crimes (gambling), and the people involved (none of which probably had a criminal record), the area in which they were going (a home, as opposed to the basement of some mob-run club) it would seem that the actions of the police went well beyond what was necessary. Major overkill. it's impossible for us to come to an agreement here because i have a subjective point of view. Once that warrant has been issued and you are under arrest, you have forfeited all civil liberties (read: not your constitutional liberties) Until those men are secured in a cell, i'm not comfortable. True. I don't have any experience as a LEO, and my view might change if I did. Also, given their education, they should have been smart enough to know that it was a crime, the possible consequences of it, and should not have done it. I'm not going to comment on the accusations of the treatment of the people after the arrest, because at this point, they're just accusations.

When does doing nothing become worth the feeling that you will have for the rest of your life, knowing that you could have saved someone's life, and didn't? And how would you feel if while trying to save one person's live, your actions resulted in the deaths of that person, and many others?

i wish i could show you a video they use for training. (it's for government purposes only, so i can't) a man IN A POLICE STATION HOLDING ROOM (obviously after having being searched) in uncuffed. The officer steps into another room for a second. At this point the suspect pulls a loaded .45 caliber pistol out of his groin area and puts the gun in his mouth and blows himself away. Luckily this man was only selfish enough to take his own life and not one of an officer. The point is that complacency is the first thing that gets you killed in the line of duty. I'm sorry but these guys reaped what they sowed. If they had to sit in handcuffs for 3 hours, so be it. Don't want to..? Don't gamble illegaly. Hindsight is 20/20 and we NOW know these guys were decent citizens who made a mistake with their gambling. But like i said, an officer has no clue who you are or what you may have in mind. Self-preservation is rule #1 in the field. So an officer is justified in yanking me through my car window taking me down and cuffing me when I get pulled over for an expired inspection sticker?

I would love to hear what they told the judge to get a warrant for that one.

Who is "it"? Or should I go back to school to learn proper English? Don't understand. Thx. I think he means the gun. Apparently, here in the US, they run around and shoot things while their owners are completely oblivious to their actions.

I had some kind of sinus stuff going on about two weeks ago, and ended up using the stuff for about 4 or 5 days in a row. After I stopped using it, my nose was screwed up for a day or two. I'm guessing that's what it was.

I use some Afrin decongestant nasal spray that works great for congestion. I get the 12-hour stuff and use it before I go to sleep the night before and then after I wake up in the morning, and it usually works all day.

Teens Leaping For Thrills In 'Garage Jumping' Trend

Read more about that particular case, I think you'll find it pretty interesting. It wasn't as simple as some lady just spilling hot coffee on herself. -

That's a completely different story, but lets not go there. -

Supreme Court: No death penalty for kids
justinb138 replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
Really? So the person that gives the lethal injection should be executed as well? Fine, amend my statement to "extrajudicially kill someone..." or "Murder someone." One is the legally sanctioned elimination of society's feces, the other is Murder. There's a difference between illegal murder and a state-sanctioned execution. The condemned get off easy, being euthanized. Try getting beaten to death or stabbed, like some of the victims. I'm not trying to defend the actions of the criminals at all, I'm trying to make the point that it isn't as simple as it seems. -

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that. Yep.

Same here. I used to jump off the roof of my house on to a trampoline (ended up in a nearby tree a few times) and jump off the roof into the pool. If I ever got hurt doing something stupid, my dad just laughed and told me to stop being a dumbass. -

Well, given the fact that it is the topic at hand, I figured that you could put two and two together. And I agreed. And who are you to decide that capital punishement is necessary? I'm just asking why we should go to all of the extra trouble to execute someone, when it's more effecient to just let them rot in jail. I'll agree with you on most things, but you're ignoring alot of good information on this one.
