Emergency school alert notification (Yes I'm freaked out)
justinb138 replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
I wasn't aware there was a list of "suspected" sex offenders, I just thought that the lists contained only people who were convicted of sex crimes. Damn. -
Personally, I think all drugs are over prescribed, especially Ritalin.
-
IIRC, they aren't cheaper than either UPS or Fed-Ex, they're much more expensive.

Next drug litigation goldmine for mass tort lawyers...

Ugh....The Vioxx lawsuit commercials are pretty much over, and now this.... -
Yes they will.

I've had to do that before. Stood in line for 45 minutes, gave the guy my ticket to go get the package, waited 30 minutes for him to look for it, then he came back and told me that the truck it was coming back on wasn't back yet! (It was 9:15 at night!). I went to go pick something up at Fed-Ex just before christmas and it was great. Walked in, no wait, gave the guy the tracking #, showed him my ID, and was out in 5 minutes.
-
And if you UPS, make sure the package requires a signature. Lately, UPS has left a few 1000$+ packages sitting on my porch. They didn't even ring the doorbell (I was home), they always just leave the stuff on the porch and drive off.

Can you reccomend any websites?

This Absinthe you speak of , do you know where it can be obtained in the US ?

Hey don't go starting vicious rumors about me. I'm as dumb as a box of ...er...sharp as a marble..no wait, um...not playing with a full deck! Yeah that's it. Wheel's spinning but the hamster's dead?

You'd think he was a Skydiver...

I heard somthing from a study a few days ago about gay ducks ... -
Oh so true....
-
On a serious note, I could have sworn that I heard something about the US selling F-16's to India and Pakistan. Anyone else heard anything about it?
-
Hmm.. He said there were 2 Strong SE140R's with serial #'s of 001 and 002 right? Anyone given the manufacturer a call to see if they had any info on those particular canopies?
-
Hmm. Ok... makes sense to me now. I need my coffee this morning.. While the distance between the two cars is closing at a speed of 120mph, each car only has the kinetic energy of a car traveling at 60mph. Upon impact, the effect upon the car will be the same, as it is coming to complete stop instantly, whether the object causing it to stop is a brick wall or a car travelling the opposite direction at an equal speed. eh... I'm giving myself a headache.
-
If I remember correctly, the energy increases exponentially with the speed, so it's much more than 2X. Where's kallend?
-
Yup.. Thanks.

BASE jumping is much more hazardous than skydiving. (And it's just a pilot chute in hand, and then only on certain jumps).
-
IIRC, 50 jumps, water training, and a few other things. (accuracy, etc..)

So what you're saying is that evidence or testimony of this nature is only allowed when it tries to prove that the defendant did commit a crime, as opposed to showing that they would commit a crime ?

U.S. Marines versus United Auto Workers Union
justinb138 replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
I don't doubt that a bit, as I've known quite a few people in that industry that have to put up with very dangerous work conditions on a daily basis. Some of the things I've heard about are pretty disturbing. I absolutely love the company I work for (I work at a Distribution Center for them). My distaste for unions stems from the fact that our lowest performing location is the only Union building in the company. I end up fixing problems caused by the incompetent people that work there on a daily basis, and it's a real pain in the ass that they won't fire people despite the fact that they can't do their job. I make a whole lot more than 10/hr, have a great insurance plan, one of the best retirement plans in the US, safety is the #1 concern, with no collective bargaining agreement needed. I'm not very fond of unions. -
what an asshat.

Death Penalty In California? I don't see it happening for either of them... Haven't they only executed about 2 or 3 death row inmates in the last 20 years ?
