  1. I pass through 2 school zones on the way to work each day. I'm not sure why, but I see 3x the number of car accidents in the school zones than I do on the rest of the 30 mile drive. Seems like it should be the other way around. Glad he's Ok!
  2. Ever been to Texas? It's probably a lot more common than you think. I know it is here.
  3. Many of these upright folks will become felons regardless of whether or not they can get a gun. Guns don't make people criminals, people make their own choices to do such things. If you take legal guns out of the equation, you only have less people able to defend themselves (and easier targets), not less gun crime. It doesn't matter if guns are banned. Criminals with guns are a constant, they will always be there. If put in a situation where citizens have to deal with these criminals, many would like the chance to defend themselves by using the most effective means possible. I still don't see a valid argument in what your saying.
  4. Eh, a reasonable fear. Every gun, legally owned or not was once a big slab of metal, I still don't see your point.
  5. I usually just wore a t-shirt and jeans and some gloves w/the fingertips cut off.
  6. If you do decide to buy a paintball gun/gear, you'll probably see things that look like dirtbike chest protectors with the rest of the paintball gear. I don't recommend them. While they will stop it from hurting if you get hit in the chest or back, they will also make you the target of pretty much everyone else on the field. Just a warning.
  7. I can understand a guy renting a rifle/shotgun (flew in to town to go hunting with one of his buddies and didn't bring his rifle with him, etc....) I can't really think of any good reasons to rent a handgun for 3 days.
  8. If hit at close range, it'll leave a minor welt. It's no worse than a weak pimp-slap. If you're not wearing a mask, it can be much worse. That goes without saying... True, but I've seen people go out and play w/o them before (Not at a paintball field). First time I went I saw a guy get hit right in the crotch from about 3ft away. I've never heard a man scream like that before in my entire life.
  9. What kind of gun was he trying to get? If it's a hunting rifle/shotgun, I could see a good reason why he might want to rent a gun. If it's a handgun, I'd be a little more suspicious.
  10. If hit at close range, it'll leave a minor welt. It's no worse than a weak pimp-slap. If you're not wearing a mask, it can be much worse. I've seen some serious damage done to someone's face because of that. With the proper gear, the chances of getting hurt (other than being sore for a few days) are very slim though.
  11. You must not know the true details of that particular case (other than what the media chose to report). I suggest you read about it, as it makes sense, and is pretty interesting. Are you talking about the general liability laws, or gun laws? There are alot of problems they need to deal with. Instead they choose to argue over steriods in baseball and the teri shiavo case.
  12. I was down there not too long ago and the riverwalk smelled like ass, and the water was pretty nasty.
  13. I wasn't aware that congress passed a law exempting baseball bat makers from product liability laws. Do you know the bill number? How many manufacturers have been sued because someone got the shit beaten out of them with a baseball bat?
  14. My boss has a few for that reason alone. Why should a gun manufacturer be liable when someone uses their product in an illegal or unintended manner?
  15. It is a safe product just as long as you aren't stupid enough to light it and inhale the smoke. See, cigarettes don't cause cancer, it is the stupid people who light them and inhale the smoke that cause cancer. It is not a safe product when used as the manufacturer intended.
  16. QuoteWhy do gun makers get a special exemption? Quote Why do knife makers, why do baseball bat makers ? There are tons of products that can be used to commit a crime, why should guns be held to a different standard when the product is used in a manner not intended by the manufacturer?
  17. I wouldn't consider that a terrorist attack, just a kid that went nuts with a gun. (We don't need to dispute what is and isn't a terrorist attack, it really isn't relavent to the topic) Even then, the proposal in the article about denying guns to suspected terrorists wouldn't matter, because the gun was stolen, and he wouldn't have been on a suspected terrorist list. If a terrorists wants a gun, they're going to get one, passing laws will only determine whether they do it legally or illegally.
  18. Many, many times. IRA spraying a pub with bullets, Sunni Muslims shooting up Shiite mosques, or Christian churches etc. etc. Happens a lot, actually. True, but for this discussion (about US gun laws) I was speaking about terrorists using guns in the US. It isn't a really big problem here. I would hope they would be far more concerned with the threat of attacks of a larger scale.
  19. How would a routine background check for a gun purchase show ties to a terrorist group? Absurd ? Hardly. Terrorists taking advantage of it? I haven't heard of any terrorists using firearms against anyone, they are pretty ineffective as a tool for terrorism. must be destroyed after 24 hours? I've yet to buy a gun from a place that didn't keep records for years. This report makes it sound like the NRA wants terrorists to have guns. I'd love to see a transcript of LaPierre's response. Are anti-gun groups the national interest? Should car manufacturers and dealers be liable when cars harm people? When has a gun been used in a terrorist attack?
  20. What would it be if he had a 5gal gas tank and some matches? It could very easily be the same or more than if he had a full-auto weapon.
  21. That happened to my grandfather a few years back. He had an old 70's-ish chevy truck with a ton of room under the hood, and a cat had crawled up there to find a warm spot. It wasn't pretty.
  22. Absolutely. Beautiful and powerful. I do like the white pipes better though
  23. I just gotta ask, where is that pic you have from? It's kinda freaking me out a little bit.
