  1. Ah...I have avatars turned off in my display options....I thought it was you. But the colours made me wonder if it was Matt. Kris.
  2. Fantastic Video and flying!! Kris. P.S: Who is the flyer in the white and blue Acro?
  3. opening characteristics - mainly the forgiveness of the canopy durning deployment with a poor body position. We know kallend has some trouble with that Dang - you found me out! What happened? Kris.
  4. In Indian Mythology, the Gods are described as having arms that reached their knees. Apparently, the Gods would make good wingsuit flyers. Kris.
  5. I think I'll try it. Brain has been always just complication. While taking some pics(yes yes on the ground), I noticed what a good example of not having a head this pic would make . Kris.
  6. Ahh...so that's where the statement "You got some ballz!!" comes from? Kris.
  7. Hi I am Kris, I am scared of the dark and also of going stowed. Kris.
  8. Geez Kris, you could make a demo fleet out of that, and start a wingsuit school for tall thin students only, of course. The only suit I am letting other people use is the S-Fly. It has been flown quite a bit(the suit that I have most jumps on out of the lot) so I am not so possesive of it any longer. I even offered it to someone that was taking a trip to spain. Chuck, As pusher-in-chief, you know this bro, this shit is addictive . While taking that picture(of the suits) I realized that I will never do justice to the suits with the amount of jumping I'll be doing here in the U.K(30-35 jumps last season). So, I thought long and hard and came to a this conclusion. "One more wingsuit is all I need" Kris.
  9. One of these is..... tdog from another thread. Scott campos in his skydive radio interview...around 21min 42secs. There is another less common 'incredible feeling of lift'. It feels like someone is holding you by the scruff of your neck and lower back and dragging you across the sky. Need a visual? try to spot it in the [url "http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=1499"]'Year of the Robibird' video(aka YOTBM). These posts may be helpful. 1) Jim on how to fly and body position. He is the flyer in the fastest motherfucker in the valley video. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=291308;search_string=Lukas;#283287 Kris.
  10. you do it everytime.....and so am I right now. Read here. Kris.
  11. What is WAAS? SiRFStar Worth noting that the ForeFunner units(even the 205, 305) are not WAAS enabled. The edge 305 has Barometric alti, WAAS and the new SiRFStarIII high sensitivity architecture. Too bad it is not convenient to carry it on a wingsuit flight. Great tool for BASE though. Kris.
  12. Nice!! As long as we are posting pics of suits that are not flying. My runway is a bit congested. Went to the DZ today ...too windy. Kris.

I checked out the website a few days ago, the Slipstream pics are great . Kris.
  14. http://www.garmin.com/products/foretrex201/ Garmin has stopped the ForeTrex after the 201. No barometric altimeter. You are confusing it with the eTrex Vista. Can you give an example? Are the advertised faster acquire times on the new 205 and 305 series, just a marketing ploy? Kris.
  15. I used to have the unit acquire signal on the ground before I got in the plane and used to leave the unit by the window by the pilot. After wearing it for exit, I held the hand next to a window until exit. This is why I was suggesting getting the newer units(205, 305), they are supposed to acquire satelite in just a few secs. Kris.
  16. Forerunner 201 size : 3.3"W x 1.7"H x .9"D Forerunner 205 size : 2.1 ” .7 ” x 2.7” (the website says W x H x D..but that is obviously wrong based on the picture) The 205 looks like it will be easier to wear, I have used a 201 to log flights and it is not that comfortable on the wrist due to its length(W above). The 205 and the 305 acquire a satelite signal quickly that is a nice feature. I'd say go for the newer ones if a bit more cost is acceptable otherwise the 201 will work just fine. If you get the 201, don't try to upgrade the firmware on the unit. I had mine stop connecting to the PC after an upgrade. Garmin replaced it under warranty but why mess with a functioning unit Kris.
  17. More surface area and head high angle of attack equals more drag and not necessarily lift. Not my cup of tea but some wingsuit pilots have been able to fly the GS1 at very impressive glides. Kris.
  18. Maybe to do with the narrow(ish) leg stance and huge arm wings... O.k, I guess I'll have to try flying a GS1 to find out. I saw verticalflyer's GS1 at Weston and it seemed like too much work to me.... Kris.
  19. Just my opinion.... None of the suits are made to automatically fly themselves. Kris.
  20. I was in TF for less than a week and did only 8 jumps from the bridge, during this time I saw i) A family in an SUV stopped in in the middle of the bridge to ask if we would jump. They wanted to sit in their vehicle and watch. The traffic behind them was slowing down and other vehicles were honking but these people did not want to leave. Jimmy had to persuade them to leave. ii) One driver honked and gave us the bird at us as we were standing on the bridge(geared up and ready to go). Somehow if there were more happenings of 'i' or accidents as a result, it seems like more people will be like the person in 'ii'. Kris.
  21. Unless you have money buring a hole in your pocket, wait till you can jump a wingsuit and get a real one. As the Matter website says, it is really for technical BASE jumps where you don't want the hassle of a wingsuit. Kris.
  22. Dude....34 and 44 on that list dropped out. Kris.
