Any rumors on the Katana 135/150 release?
ChasingBlueSky replied to SkydiveMO's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I beleive that Icarus will make a canopy ANY size you want, just because it isn't listed on their site does not mean they won't makei it for you. Also I think the pricing is the same either way. My last conversation with Chris Martin was about a larger crossbrace canopy. I told him that a x-brace will most likely never be in my future since I don't care to go that small or to swoop that far (plus BM is the direction I want to go). He grinned and told me that may change in the future...esp since they had built a Xoas up to a 150 (and wouldn't do so again)....and that they had tested a x-brace tandem as well (low 200 sqft). He went on for nearly 30 minutes about how much he thought could be done with x-brace with proper testing. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Just short of an inch on the ground when I woke up today. Wasn't ready. Haven't gotten around to getting the following yet: new gloves, scarve, hat, coat or snow brush. Was damn cold clearing off the car with my bare hands today. Think I need four new tires as well after driving in this today. More snow for Sat and Sunday headed our way. This is going to be an expensive weekend for me. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

^^ what he said (helps that my roommate is called don - use it all the time. My other roommate is often refered to as Walter....here is a hint: he is divorced.) _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... haha...I'm glad I am not the only one that missed that. I was listening to his show last night...heard him talk about the "lists" he is making on his site. Then it went right to his commercial pimping his Xmas No Spin stuff. Irony ftw! _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

NOW that is a thing of beauty. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

I understand it is a rant - and you have your own passion...and that yuppies are the most annoying individuals in the world.......but, not all HD riders are yuppies and maybe they may get something out of it that you don't understand. There can also be casual riders that can't hit the road for a long haul due to other obligations in life. In fact, I would say most HD riders are guys that wanted one their entire life and couldn't afford a top end one until they hit a certain age. Hell, I can afford a bike right now but what I can't afford is to build a place to secure it at night in my back yard since I live in the city (and winter storage) OR the time to ride one (I barely have time for laundry these days). Personally, I see the sport bike riders as more of the type looking for an image and trying to fit in with the crowd more than the HD guys. Those guys pretending to be an extra from biker boyz annoy the shit out of me. As far as 'ride american' I could care less. I'll buy and ride whatever I like/want....and not give two shits what anyone else thinks. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I share your thoughts Chris. However, I can understand why someone would say this. Death is never a happy topic and always hard to deal with. That phrase is a way of dealing with loss, nothing else. Would you rather your family say: Damn, he had such potential but just sat around the house and died of boredom? Instead, they can take comfort that at least in this tragedy they knew you were out there doing what made you happy...nothing more...nothing less. It is a way to celebrate a person's life instead of concentrating on their passing. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... As of today: imitrex. omg, I didn't know it could remove so much head pain! God I hope this is the end to my migraines. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

Was the point of this to educate or to irk? My though is just to push buttons. How do you feel about drilling in Alaska? As far as slash and burn for industry? It will happen no matter what - people are driven to make money. There will always be people that can't see or don't want to see past their wallet. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Bush: Being against the war in Iraq is OK
ChasingBlueSky replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
Propoganda can be spun from ANYTHING!!! These are people that others in the region consider extreme. If 100% of this country was behind Bush's crazy cowboy notions....then the letter from AQ could be "The Great Satan and their allies wish to remove us....blah blah blah." It's terrorism....the point is not to win with force but thru emotion and illogical thoughts; to make you question everything you normally do; to interupt your life. It is a lose/lose scenario if you try to start avoiding their traps. The best bet against an enemy like this is to keep living your life as is...to keep America 'as is.' Don't get caught up in their spin. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again..... -
Texas may have executed innocent man
ChasingBlueSky replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
Um...huh? How is using a different word make anything different. You are trying to play the semantics game when in fact you basically just said revenge = justice. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Bush: Being against the war in Iraq is OK
ChasingBlueSky replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
There is always responsibility when it comes to any freedom. Yelling BOMB in an airport will help you get you arrested in a moment.....and some possible long term negative side effects. Now. Why does anyone feel that a dissenting view to war is unpatriotic? _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Bush: Being against the war in Iraq is OK
ChasingBlueSky replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
I agree that an educated approach is more civil. However, the message is still the same - the medium has changed. Therefore neither are unpatriotic. Both are protected. Sometimes to get the attention of those that place themselves above the rest of the populace.....you need to make more noise to get their attention. Look at the Mom that placed herself outside Bush's ranch. It wasn't perfect, it wasnt the most civil, it wasn't unpatriotic.....but it made waves. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Bush: Being against the war in Iraq is OK
ChasingBlueSky replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
That was his opinion and thankfully he is free to say so. However, I fully disagree and I don't remember any admendment that comes close to this. People in power NEED to be challenged. Even the good ones. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again..... -

ChasingBlueSky replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
You don't like the harsh words which is fine. Not everyone can speak with big words and do the Beltway 2-step. It doesn't lessen the opinion or how patriotic it is. In war an enemy will use anything to their favor. If they found a dissenting view that works with their spin they will use it. In fact, using an educated conflicting view could help out more. Plus anything we do as a country will be used to fuel their fire. You cannot walk on eggshells because they may over hear a news cast. To start putting limitations upon it can lead to censorship. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Matter of perspective. I still enjoy them. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

Same. However you have to think about this - you are only under some fabric while under canopy. Skycoaster uses cable. Skydiving gear is TSOd, and UL handles the testing of cable. What is the difference? It's just a matter of perspective for you. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... ChasingBlueSky replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
If it is the will and voice of the American people....then it must be heard no matter what they are saying. Trying to keep something quiet can and will have a much larger negative impact in the long run. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Responsibility in your words is needed. Agreed. However, using harsh language is no where near unpatriotic.....nor is using that language to disent from talking points used by any administration. Why does this seem ironic to me? _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again..... -

Bush: Being against the war in Iraq is OK
ChasingBlueSky replied to ChasingBlueSky's topic in Speakers Corner
Well...that should go for both sides in the current petty argument. The simple fact is that you can often defeat ignorance with fact. No one seems to be doing that. Nonetheless - freedom of speech is not limited by tact or vocabulary. Larry Flint has shown that. Responsibilty is needed.....but what you say is protected. To claim otherwise is unpatriotic. So.....maybe I didn't get what you were saying.....my thought is....if you want to say somethinng...say it. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....
