Just means you understand the blues....it always makes me feel good...it's all about being alive. It's not for everyone, but when you get what it's all about...it stays in your soul. For me anything with some good harp, piano or guitar works for me. I listened to the PBS blues cd's on one of my many long road trips and have to say it's amazing stuff....and introduced me to some legends I didn't know about. Well worth the cost. Have you checked out anything by Johnny Winter? Robert Randolph is one my new favorite artists. Bo Diddley is amazing in concert. Anything on the old Chicago Chess Records is worth buying. Listen to Robert Johnson and you will how one man influenced several generations of musicians....and then there is Jr Wells.... One of my most memorable days at work while still in radio....one of my coworkers is walking down the hall with this short guy....turns to me and says...Bo, have you ever met Jr. Wells? I laugh and say of course not...Wells lifts up his head and says "now you have." Then I got to watch a studio jam session of Jr and a couple of his local friends. Want a good, strong and healthy relationship? Then don't date a skydiver. As for me - it's trust, honesty, loyalty, acceptance, fidelety, etc....you get the point. Besides the Cubbies...I am the same way. It's a Chicago thing It made the press here over the weekend. LOTS of very upset people claiming NY favortism about moving Game 1 to Wednesday. The Angels are a damn good team and most in Chicago were hoping for NY since we match up better against them. The rest will work for and against us...it has interupted our winning streak (going back to Clevland) and allowed time to think. The Angels are exhausted and worried about Colon's MRI....but that could be all the more to drive them forward. We've seen that all year here....true baseball fans have seen what Oz has done. Yet, this is a very worried city. No one will speak of the WS due or incredible history of sucking/losing/choking. Jenks against Santana could be interesting in the final innings.....this is going to be some good baseball. This is one very scared town right now....we all want to scream that we finally got here. 4 games is a long time to go in this town....esp when the Cubs choked with just 5 outs to go in 2003. It doesn't help that west coast baseball teams know how to hit against us. What we have going for us is Colon going for an MRI and them arriving in town at 6am after a very long 36 hours for them. I'll take anything to help us out at this point. If it wasn't skydiving, it would be something else. A strong passion for a hobby/sport isn't a rare thing. If you were training for a Marathon you would be out every day doing that - would it matter? What is the real issue? The danger? The lack of time for her? Or something else. I'm sure she has things of her own as well. Find a middle ground. If you care about each other it won't be that hard. The street ticket vendors are very shaddy in this town. I went to buy some for a sold out game earlier this year....just decided after a long day at work I needed a game to relax at...... That is why I like this team and always have - it's the game that matters....and being around a group of people that understand why it's a big deal that Manny was flipped in the rotation in game 2. 2-0 against Boston? That is a scary place to be IMO. I am not new to the evils that is Ticketmaster or Ticket-tron (what they were called here in the 80s).....and I was on board with Pearl Jam in '92/'93 when they went against them. Only 10k tickets went on sale and the rest went to MLB to hand out to sponsors etc....which makes it even harder on the TRUE fans that have been going to games for several decades. Just once in my life I wanted to be able to see my favorite sports team in a postseason game in person. The closest I came to that was in 1993 when Bo Jackson hit a homerun to clinch a playoff spot (got the ticket due to an earlier rain cancelation). Tried to get tickets to the ALDS and the ALCS - skunked on both. 5 minutes after tickets went on sale for the White Sox game they were on sale at a local scalper for $2000. I hate this. I go to a ton of games this year, been going to games for 23 years and I can't get into what could be our first real chance at a title. I really wouldn't feel sorry for the guy...he knows what he is doing. He knows how to put on an act...he is a better actor than he lets on. Are the tears real? That is part of it as well. What's really sad about all this? The man is incredibly smart. Then again, that helps him plan this all out. btw - I can retell almost all of his stories verbatim....he has been telling the same ones over and over for years. I worked for Danny for just a bit over three years while he was here in Chicago. The man is very self-destructive because he has always had everything given to him and people are willing to rescue him everytime he f's up; thus he feels he has free range to do whatever he wants almost without consequence. On top of it he has a terrible need for attention and his destructive behavior lends to him getting attention. A lot of what he does is an act - this persona he has is what the majority of the world sees (alot of his personal choices are planned out to help get him more attention). He does have an addiction weakness that is very real as you can see on the show - but his chosen lifestyle helps him stay around those influences. The man can party more than most I have ever seen and I have partied right along side him and have some great stories. His party lifestyle helps generate the majority of the stories that help him get attention....can you see how circular this is? Therefore this show and VH1 are just playing up to his wants/needs so they can have a show and people can watch much like a car wreck. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Went to 12 games this year. First game of the year I purchased tickets 15 min before the start, 12 rows behind home plate against the Twinkies. Got them for $10.
