  1. Vancouver is habitually listed as the most or one of the most fit cities in the country. Now if you are into fatties that's a different story.
  2. The science is not settled. I can site several peer reviewed articles that prove that I get it and Happy doesn't. You missed the point completely.
  3. You see! That's what I'm talking about. What you don't understand is that pulling that race crap is just avoiding the real issue.
  4. If you don't understand, then just carry on; there's no point in trying to enlighten the likes of you.
  5. "The Godfather" or "Apocalypse Now."
  6. It would mean that your boss doesn't owe you any money on payday, and your bank doesn't owe you any either; how much food and ammo do you have.
  7. There is nothing new about eugenics. Rape as the natural spoils of war is just that. Remember the "first night" policy in Braveheart? I don't know if that was actually practiced in medieval Scotland, but I wouldn't be surprised. The practice of agriculture is the same thing. The natural attraction we have for people who are healthy is the same thing at its core. The only thing that is new is the application of modern scientific technology to the practice. When that happens we get a moral dilemma that requires us to painstakingly redefine our moral code. Finding a good husband for your daughter is fine; sterilizing everyone less than five feet tall is not (or is it?). I believe this is the main reason we are having such a hard time controlling health care costs. There was a time not that long ago when "do everything you can" was a reasonable proposition; the science of medicine had very real limits. Throwing money at many of the problems would be of little use. Today the science is advancing so fast that for just a few more percent of GNP we can continuously have positive returns. We have to make the hard decisions both in a micro and macro sense based on economics and not on compassion. Our moral norms are not well equipped for this.
  8. YOU just haven't jumped from enough narrow body 182s lately, that's your problem. I have, it really is cramped between the door and the pilot. I prefer the 182 widebodies... Me too as a jumper, but the narrow bodies climb faster so DZOs like them better. I seem to recall Aggiedave talking about doing tandems out of one; now that's crowded.
  9. I have never seen a skydiving 206 that didn't have 6 jumpers as its normal load. i have no idea why you think it would be "bold" to get in one with six jumpers.

  11. Which gives these guys the right to brag about it on their website.
  12. No, the one in Casa Grande is closer than Eloy. As far as I've heard it is the closest to the city.
  13. Hmm, so you think these foreign companies should not be allowed to operate in the US. I guess Exxon, Microsoft, Ticketmaster, Safeway, Weyerhauser et al. should be kicked out of Canada. Oh and of course GM, Ford and Chrysler. I think Castro acquiesced to those wishes didn't he?
  14. The people who own the Casa Grande DZ also have one in the San Diego area.
  15. I don't get it. What's your problem with these guys? They don't seem Skyridey to me.
  16. Well try and avoid these if you go. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-columbia/story/2007/09/24/bc-cougarsighting2.html There are a few cougars in Montana too. Granville Island is downtown Vancouver.

  18. I have changed students to a poised exit on occasion for just that reason. It sounds like you are going to do at least one more jump from a hanging exit; if you do and you feel yourself slipping off, rather than putting everything you've got into hanging on, just let go and arch! You were planning on leaving anyway.
  19. It would make the Iranians squeal, but what else could they do? Are they going to attack a US base? I don't think so; they are not that stupid. Are they going to provide arms for Americas enemies in Iraq; The horse is already out of that barn. The comparison with WWI doesn't quite work; If the Austrians had assassinated a Serbian or a Bosnian that wouldn't have started the war. It had to be the big power that was the aggrieved party, likewise for this situation. I do think it would be the end of the UN. The non-aligned countries would insist that the US is unsuitable to host it if they cannot provide protection for their rivals. If it got moved the US would undoubtedly demand that the funding schedule be revised, and it would all fall apart.
  20. ummm dude, your boys haven't been in the super bowl in 14 years. It's their longest drought. You can talk smack when they get back in it. Ya, you would have thought that some other teams would have caught up by now, but that just isn't the case.
  21. That's what is so great about being a Cowboys fan; listening to the hate pouring in from all directions at the most successful team in superbowl history, and then watching y'all squirm as the 'boys kick your team's ass AGAIN!
  22. How 'bout them cowboys! I've never met skinny but I sure am going to enjoy the jump he buys be when the 'boys walk all over the skins. I mean,.... they lost to the Giants, .. THE GIANTS.
