  1. How about invading them, occupying them, and installing a new government? Is that OK if your not a ciizen of that country?
  2. Ya, I think NCClimber is having a time out.
  3. Bill is right. In countries with responsible government, such as the UK has now and was developing at the time of the revolution, the crown rules with the advice of her council (cabinet), which is a committee of the legislature. The whole idea of the republic was that the administration administers the will of the people. That will is expressed by the legislature.
  4. Ya. I suppose the Police will protect people and their homes from the wave. Just leave it to the police. It's their job.
  5. Do you have the canopy? Can you not look for the label yourself?

    Yoga

I think he is supposed to have his arms more in line with his torso and not out to the side so much.
  7. No, it would make a min 20% AMERICAN of Mexican heritage vote in less than 20 years.
  8. I think he's referring to the priorities of the US gov as a whole and not within NASA
  9. I knew what it meant. I just liked the ubiquitousness of the metric 5k as it was applied to the "we don't need no damn French metric shit 'round here" lbs. It's just like liberalism; it creeps up on you.
  10. So what are you saying? Father knows best?
  11. The first freefall should be done according to the same count as the practice freefalls IMHO. We generally refer to it as a 3 second delay: ARCH THOUSAND REACH THOUSAND PULL THOUSAND.
  12. If a parachute is certificated it must have a TSO label. If the label is absent, the TSO is void. Your rigger should know that.
  13. As far as production costs go I think it depends on what you make the biodiesel from. The US is trying hard to make it from corn whereas Cuba and Brazil make it from sugar, which has a much higher carbohydrate value and is thus much cheaper for a given energy value. Of course corn is what the US grows and corn is what gets mid-west congressmen elected.
  14. Oh *please*.... C'mon, give him a break. I think he went to a friend's house for thanksgiving turkey and someone on the other end of the table quietly said grace for himself. You can imagine HOW UNCOMFORTABLE he felt being at the table with that religious fanatic. I suspect, after screaming and yelling at the rogue pray-er to 'STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT" he had to go get counseling from a government approved "recovery from prayer exposure expert". There is one, one, admitted atheist in the US congress. It was national news when he admitted it. The number of congressmen who pretend to be Christian to avoid discrimination is perhaps larger than the number of GOP congressmen pretending to be straight.
  15. When I was growing up two blocks of the main street were owned by the same land owner. Behind the businesses was a street that was maintained by the town. One day a year there were road blocks set up and PRIVATE PROPERTY- NO THOROUGHFARE signs in place. The land belonged to the land owner and he maintained control of it by denying passage one day a year.
  16. So,.. What does Fred Thompson think about America's incarceration rate?
  17. I am pretty stunned. It does show how complex these issues are. I knew there were anti-Zionists within the Jewish community, but to hear them praising him was a shock.
  18. Yes China is a communist state. That is not inconsistant with being a stable society. I disagree with the political philosophy of their current administration, but it is a stable society none the less. India is majority Hindu. Hindus do not believe in God; they believe in a pantheon of gods not unlike the practitioners of witchcraft who occupied northern Europe prior to the coming of Christianity. While France was a Catholic Monarchy in the past, as a society they have removed religion from official life and are doing fine. If you insist that France's past is still dominant I will grant you your point. However you must also grant that China's past is of course Buddhist. Buddhists do not believe in a creator.
  19. Even at the cost of breaking it? If there is no other alternative, Yes. I have no response.
  20. Even at the cost of breaking it?
  21. Similarly there are no good stats on how many people drink and drive but arrive home safely. All the press goes to those who kill or injure themselves and others. My guess is that the overwhelming majority of drunk drivers do not crash. I am pretty sure that they crash at a higher rate than the sober, given their overall numbers. Likewise for those who aggressively downsize.
  22. Actually I do believe that. So does the SCOTUS. It's a shame you have so little respect for the US constitution.
