  1. OK everyone, let's say it together: Yes, he's an asshole, but he's OUR ASSHOLE.
  2. Sounds like the King County WA referendum on the New Seahawks Stadium.
  3. I watched the whole thing. It is a modern day take on an old theme. In the '70s the tin foil hat gang wrote "None Dare Call it Conspiracy." That seems to be the seminal volume in the 'international bankers' conspiracy/ CFR rules the world' theory. In that one they claimed that communism was a capitalist plot and that John D. Rockefeller fired Kruschev. This time they have gone after 9-11, North American Union, and in a surprising twist made a bold move for the growing atheist contingent (I sound like a commentator at a political convention). The truth is the expansion of the Canada-US Free Trade Agreement both breadth-wise (to include Mexico in the '90s, with Chile and the Caribbean region up next) as well as depth-wise (the desirability of free trade in labour is well discussed in the works of Milton Freidman, the advantages of unifying the North American currency system was something I remember discussing with my finance prof when the EURO came out) is not a conspiracy; it is a concept that has been discussed as a logical extension of Manifest Destiny since the Reciprocity Treaty between Canada and the US during the 1900's. If you prefer to call it the secret agenda of the 20th level Masons go ahead.
  4. I think she's just missing NCclimber.
  5. Well I must say I'm very impressed. He makes nice to the so-cons while explaining why he wont support the amendment of hate, why he supports civil rights, why he has no intention in getting into the abortion quagmire, why he believes in peace. I don't get a vote but I think I know who I'm hoping for. Ever heard of the Reagan Democrats? I think if he ever got past the GOP nominating process you would see a lot of Paul Democrats.
  6. Tell me about it. Al built this ridiculously over the top stand for the mock-up this year. "that's never gonna move!" he proudly proclaimed. Guess again, the wind picked up the mock-up 182 body and the stand at about 4:00AM this morning and tossed it over.
  7. i would argue for "if your mother is legally here at the time of birth" to be added to that list.
  8. The USPA is a division of the NAA. At least thats what it says on my USPA membership card in the FAI section.
  9. I failed to find mention of USPA or LASA there either.
  10. Doesn't seem to be any mention of them on the FAI site. The only member from the US is the NAA; I can't find a mention of where the USPA fits in either.
  11. Have you noticed that the topic every one else has chosen to discuss is the morality of it.
  12. ...and until it is legal innocent taxpayers are going to be caught up in gang wars funded by drug profits. http://www.nowpublic.com/crime/two-six-surrey-murder-victims-were-innocents-caught-gang-hit
  13. Because it is anthropological rather than political in nature.
  14. I agree. Queen Elizabeth is very influential because she has devoted her life to being an informed adviser. She is exceptional in that regard. King Juan Carlos is also influential although I don't think quite as much as QEII. The fact that they reinstated him after 60 or 70 years of fascist rule speaks volumes about the legitimacy of his influence.
  15. If you don't get why the Ramones are in SC, you just don't get the Ramones.
  16. I have no intention to go to Baghdad. I also have no intention to take for truth a message I have not yet examined.
  17. But you are not a citizen of Iraq. You have been going on about how non Americans should not be part of an internet discussion of American politics yet you think it's OK for American troops to physically interfere with another country. My comment has nothing to do with the righteousness of the Iraq war and everything to do with the inconsistency of your arguments.
  18. Did you just trash a movie that you have not seen less than one minute after finding out it existed? You did didn't you? Why don't you watch both of them and then tell us what you think.
  19. I always get symptoms from immunizations. I have never had a flu shot, but the ones I have gotten for travel always suck.
  20. In Newfoundland they hunted them to extinction.
  21. Does that go for all Scientologists or just him? Do you also boycott any movie with Forest Wittaker or John Travolta? What about Jews? Do you boycott those as well or are you OK with Jews?
  22. All history is. On the other hand we still have the pre-revision versions to examine and thus mitigate the effectiveness of the revision. If a story is revised around the fire and is not corrected for one generation, the old story is gone. This is an extremely cogent matter to Natives today as many of the languages are in danger of being lost; many of the stories are going with them. The task of speaking with the elders and writing down the stories is nothing short of frantic in many communities.
  23. "Free" Some were free, others were not. Slavery was practiced by some nations, others not. On the West coast the Haida were tribute collecting thugs that oppressed many people much like the Vikings did in Europe. The truth is because the entire hemisphere was non-literate we just don't know that much for sure. The historical records of story telling cultures are extremely susceptible to revisionism.
  24. I think it's broken. I clicked on drunk and it just gave me my original image back.
