  1. Sherri wants to go back to the tunnel so maybe this fall after it can support higher speeds. Originally the freefly roster was full but there were some cancellations, she could have jumped, but decided to just chill and save her money for labor day weekend. I want a birdman suit!!!! Maybe if we come down this fall you can give me lessons. ramon "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
  2. Hey man, you rocked!!!!!! ramon "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
  3. The heat wave ZP material is south african (gelvenor textiles). the Safire is regualr ZP similar to what is used on most canopies. The south african ZP is easier to pack. Some people think it tears easier because heatwaves and hornets hafve a tendency to blow cells when over loaded (yes people overload them like other canopies, but I don't think the PISA canopies like it). there is nothing wrong with the Gelvenor fabric. I would get the heatwave If I were you. You are already used to the way it flares and so you will probably inprove on another heatwave. The shitfire..cough cough...ahem...safire will probably give you some trouble as you learn how to flare it . One thing very consistent about safires is that lots of people do not like them (a few raving fans, but they are all touched ) P.S. a heatwave flies almost exactly like a stilleto and is cheaper. good luck "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.

  9. Very good attitude. Lots of people get frustrated when starting, but it takes a little time to get your brain used to being upside down. "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.

  11. You are right about 2 arrows, but the human body has to have the skill to remain arrow like instead of pancake like.. is so hard to go over like 250-260, that skill and finesse are required to stay straight down and allow gravity to pull you that little bit extra to get in to the 280- 290 realm before you cork...and you will cork unless you have a depleted uranium helmet and little carbon fiber winglets on your feet (ok I made that up..but at some speed drag on your toes and feet will be almost as great as the pull of gravity on your body and since youare unstable to begin with slight movements will make you cork.. 12. it is actually about cross sectional density, not weight. (i.e. arrow vs ball of the same wieght, arrow falls faster...forget gaillileo he used two items with the same drag coefficient)). and of course good technique will keep you more like an arrow than a flopping corking whale and so Thomas Mcdow at 180 lbs beat my record and the speed of a very big style and accuracy guy. A skinny person with some technique will go faster than any lardass..case closed.....I know a girl (Jeremy's gf) that has gone faster than any one else in Houston >290... 13. leave the plane like a dart, keep your eye on the ball, and arch over in that direction using the relative wind. It's easy, what is hard is being aggresive and sort of doing the count in your head and leaving right when the ball leaves. Being late eats up a little time (been there done that, but the last time I took it I was really aggressive and I was there quick). Good luck ramon "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
  14. I'm sure you will try a couple of warm up jumps before you take the test, hence you can see what it is like to have the freedom to stand up and dive out. For the ball be as aggressive as you can without leaving before the ball. The ball will present very low surface area to the wind compared to a human with a less than perfect exit. Because of this the ball will accelerate initially, faster than you. So hawl ass to the ball. Get big and put on the breaks well above the ball and get level....breathe...smoothly go to the ball and fly up to it with your hand, dont reach like a madman. Being slow and precise will help you pass where rushing and panickaing will ensure you fail. Especially the last ball grab (lots of people fail here) breath...then fly your hand to the ball and grab. Good luck ramon "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
  15. 15,000 for CRW or for learning high perf canopies. "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
  16. PM me if you want to. They are actually damn good parachutes. While we are posting pictures here is one of me swooping the Panama city beach on a CC105 loaded at 2.15 (wearing 12 lbs of lead). I was by my self on a beautiful day. The dark strip on the front is the cross bracing on the nose I was wearing weights because I went on a little diet, but, before I left Jim Slaton wanted to borrow my weight belt, cuz his broke....hmmm ....
  17. Send a PM to rgoper. I think he either got his 170 modified or exchanged for a competition cobalt. I jump a 105 comp cobalt (215 w/ gear) and it opens softly.
  18. good job ramon "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
  19. me 1000+ jumps pretty good all round ..plenty people in Houston much better but I can out swoop all of em except EZ Boyd "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
  20. Do we all need D licenses? I think some of the folks on the list need to get theirs (I'm not cracking on you about past events either) "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
  21. I'll be there with the freefly group (Rats). hope to see you Ramon "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
  22. Jump Shack is performing test #2 (less poundage block test as opposed to test #1 the field test which can be innaccurate). they are trying to turn around any reserve ripcords sent in 2 days. Just thought I would let everyone know what option they have. Relative Workshop is shipping mine back today. If your rigger is willing to do test 1 and you don't mind a bent pin then that is fine too. Bloo skies Ramon "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.

  24. Actually the market is pretty full of cross braces right now. It is fairly easy to find a used one...albeit I do hope they sell well, competition is good. "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
