  2. If you were replying to me I didn't say anything about brainwashing, nor did I read any of the other posts (no time for that BS). Nor did I insult you in any manner (I don't need to). Fact: plenty of easy terrorist targets Fact: Royal Saud family supported Bin Laden Fact: money laundered through Islamic banks in UAE and Kuwait Fact: We educated and financed Bin Laden also Fact: It took us months to come up with one sentence about a bin laden cronie meeting someone in Iraq Fact: the UN resolution says nothing about regime change or America gets to attack Fact: there have been no terrorist attacks since and people willing to die could easily do damage if they wanted to or were here. So why should 9/11 be used to convince us to send our kids and our tax dollars during our stunted economy go to war in Iraq. We already cleaned up the Taliban so reminding us about 9/11 and including verbage to attack Iraq is obviously preying on peoples emotions to convince them that We need to revenge ourselves on Iraq. That is lame and is the refuge of politicians and finger pointers, not responsible citizens, voters and decision makers. Big Lie tactics...."If you are going to outright lie to a populace...just keep on repeating the lie over and over again as much as possible"...para phrased from Josef Goebels, Nazi propaganda chief "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.

  7. That is a good point. and I can think of many far worse urban disasters that can be done very easily with a truck and no explosives. Also you can grow all sorts of biological items in a beer brewing kit (botulism, and you can get anthrax cultures from dead goats here in texas...sheesh high tech my ass) and mail prussic acid all over the place. None of that has happened. where is the beef...all these orange and yellow terrorist alerts, I watched them constantly because I traveled to the mid east after 9/11...nothing. Lots of Osama's money was funneled through charity's and through the UAE and Kuwait via various banks. We fail to come up with anything conclusive about Saddam in that manner yet we have piles on the Saudi Royal family. I still think calling him a threat is silly and The govt is appealing to our emotions for war support, instead of giving us reasons like...hey we hate him and we're taking his oil. "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
  8. Good post, but... What does Saddam actually have to do with 9/11? Osama Bin Laden had attacked us before with several building bomb attempts and the US Cole bomb. He was a known threat that had a history of attacking us. Your patriotism is comendable and Saddam is a snake, but he is not going to be removed because of that or because he is some sort of threat to us. We ignored him for 12 years and even for 6 months after 9/11 but right now when our strategic oil reserves are lowest he is a threat? His electron storage ring was destroyed in 91 by us so he cannot enrigch uranium. Biological and chemical weapons are very impractical though ever contry has them (weather must be on your side and they are not all persistant) they are more weapons of terror (as in scare everyone) than of mass destruction. Mass destruction is like Hiroshima not like 100 people killed on a subway (Aun Rikoyo nerve gas attack in Japan). I have no problem removing him, for shits and grins, but I suspect what you will see is we will seize the oil fields and let the city battle drag out as there is no need to get control of them after we have air superiority of the region. If that happens it will be evident what is important here (caveat: I have no problem taking his oil). "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.

  11. If you have a body of water you can land by , start practicing landing by the bodyof water, but concentrate on turning at your correct altitutde. Once you have your turn zone dialed in, try a gradual slow turn over the water, with the intent of landing in the shallow water. This is to get a feel for what the water is like. Hopefully you will land standing up in knee deep water but you might surf a few feet on the soles of your shoes before you sink. then one day when you are really on the ball and in the righ turn area try a harder turn. Don't try to dip your toe in as you might put too much foot, rater try to keep both feet flat and sort of water ski your surf. After you have some adventures doing that and feel comfortable over the water you can try other things.. bloo skies r "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.

  14. You have to make corrections with the risers early before you build up too much speed or you might not get the other riser down. I have to correct with toggles or harness lean sometimes and using a toggle though efficient withthe VX, will add drag though. be safe ramon "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.

  19. Well, the Velocity is very different formthe FX in that it has more cross bracing (a pattern copied in the VX, but not so in the xaos 21)..the xaos 21 is the same canopy as an FX with different line trim and slight nose mod and the stablisers...but it is the same planform and airfoil and cross bracing). The velocity feels more like a vX in flight (twitchier, more rigid) than an FX. I think it is wrong to say it is an exact copy of an FX (maybe they came out with a ZP cross braced canopy after Icarus) but it is quite different, unlike a xaos which is just mods on an FX just my 2 cents "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
  20. My VX is old and opens nice (it has the little parachute mark on it that shows it was either made in Spain or in New Zealand as opposed to Precision). My FX was newer (Jan 2001) and made by precision and tended to open hard. It also tended to have the seams come un sewn. Anyway the big differences for me: My VX absolutley will not plane out by itself after a hard dive (by plane out I mean recover in a positive glide angle above straight in normal flight..a stilleto will plane out ,a vengeance is seems to sort of stay in a dive but not as extreme as the VX). My FX would come close to plaining out by itself. The vX requirers more toggle input to do so. My VX is much more sensitive in the harness than the FX. I can spiral down in the harness pretty tight in the VX, but in the FX I can only do gradual turns. The VX responds very well to slight toggle or wieght shift during a swoop, I can change direction s very easily in case of a wuffo running out in front of me ( granted I still need some lead time and I could still be surprised). The FX seems to want to go in a straight line after a hard hook and requires more severe toggle input to initiate a heading change during a swoop. The VX seems to have a steeper glide too. And it dances around even more while openeing (yes I chopped the other day and I never really had openeings I could not deal with on the FX) that's about it, I really like the VX, I sold my FX, and I kept my Vengeance as a back up.
  21. I was shocked when I saw the article. Normally I don't touch those POS magazines. ramon "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
  22. Just like Hook said..speed. I didn't start doing it till I was very consistently swooping at almost max canopy speed along the ground very consistently and it did in fact start out as cross wind landings where I decided to start small tunrs in to the wind. One thing to note...some canopies do this better than others ramon "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
