  1. At least you did what you thought was best. Maybe the kids will get some presents even if you don;t get to spend christmas with your friend.
  2. I have about 500 jumps on mine 1. thick leg pads..it is nice under canopy (especially if you swoop). 2. It can feel like a brick on your back due to the lumppy packing tray, but the harness does allow for freedom of movement. 3. Main flap is very secure, reserve flap is very secure. 4. Riser covers can look wrong or lumpy if you tuck your risers down deep, if you put them in the middle of the chanel by the reserve tray and then put the inner riser cover over them it will look right. done correctly the riser covers are very secure (unlike lost of odyseeys I hav seen). 5. Tru_lock toggles are cool and the hard cutaway housing is really cool (had a hard spinner on my VX today and i had a one arm cutaway

  8. You will be fine....I promise... as long as you follow your flight plan...don't get down wind of any obstacles and have plenty of room to land straight in. Make sure you wear shoes and land in grass. (probable worst case is anything other than that
  9. Did you pay for the jacuzzi? Is it yours or hers? If it is hers (her money) you need to beg. If it is yours...well...you just go and ask Ann Landers.. "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.

  11. Didn't pack up as big as expected. Was a pretty canopy. Where did those risers come from , Eric was in a hurry and I packed it for him and a toggle came loose and wrapped around the other riser when the slider hit it ..oops Eric pulled down the offending riser ...flew straight and untangled my mess. sorry Butz.... moral is..I guess it opens well behaved...
  12. the assclown award is sooo under used here..... "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
  13. Makes sense. I guess for this example the brief 29 Gs would be experieneced by part of the riser or links while a skiydiver body is merely coaxed to begin pivoting upright. Any long term G's experienced would involve the skydiver no longer having pivot romm and would be felt directly on the decelerating body. 14. Is this what will happen to Dean Kamen's segway personal transporter once it (haha) becomes commonplace..... "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
  15. Hey Jason, Eric Butz said I have to learn that one by taking my wounds.... last time I tried it over the big pond I made an un-expected 45 turn to the left straight to the bank. "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.

  18. that is true also, but if he were to do something like that in order to cause a spectacle, he would probably not care about the tiny community of base jumpers. Of course an actual base jumper would have done it at night after much planning so as not to get noticied (unless he is like John Vincent climbing the St Louis Arch at dawn and getting a warrant and news coverage) Disclaimer: Old school Base jumpers (I have many friends who are new school and regret this) caused their own bad rep at El capitan and other locations through dis regard of their surroundings and reputation of base jumpers as a whole. "Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce.
  19. I personally would have been much more impressed by someone climbing half way up (wearing a top secret base rig)...starting negotiations with the cops....then jumping off and landing his canopy on the street. then he could go to jail flipping off the reporters and probably would get his political message (whatever it was heard at least somewhere) I think he might actually become some sort of hero (in some circles) if he did that instead it was just a sad drama......
