Come out to ASC for the PST intermediate dealio in March. You can do it, there was a big guy there on a crossfire 149 this winter....it was his turf and he beat me (all my swoops were longer, but I broke the rules twice and he was consitent). you could do the same

I have about 200 jumps on my ole vengeance loaded at about 1.7. Typically a very neat pack job (symetrical flakes and in the bag) will stop some of that hunting and seeking, but the vengeance is pretty well known to fly off in funny direction while opening. I think sometimes one side inflates a little slower than the other cuz of the airlocks and makes it behave that way. I don't find it sensitive in the harness at all compared to an FX or VX, however poor body posiition will probably cause crazy (exagerration) openings on it also. I think it is pretty tame actually but make sure you track a little further on small dives (2-3 way) instead of hanging out cuz it could give you a brisk 180 back to where you came from, just like a more extreme canopy. I don't mind the way the vengeance opens but it probably does open the jerkiest out of all the non cross braced canopies (albeit mine opens soft). good luck...make sure to add about 100' to your turn on to final. Here are the flight charecteristics translated by a computer "babelfish". not very helpful, but it apparently is fun to do rear riser turns on it. FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS: The X Wing flies fast, fullly and very elegantly. The kurvenverhalten is typical for such a span: the cap has a relatively large turning radius. This proved however as extremely positive, since this screen develops a high potential at Kurvenbescheunigung. FR curves are rather steep and the dipping behavior are pronounced. Kirils, it looks like it might be cross braced but not with the cross bracing only going half way up the "non-stressed" rib. The top skin looks almost like a normal canopy. Is it cross braced? Can you "quickly and short" translate this? Ein absolut geniales Flugmanöver, das nur mit dem X richtig abgeht. Da der Schirm als guter Gleiter ausgelegt ist, bringt Backriser- fliegen eher wenig. Wir konnten die besten Ergebnisse mittels 1/4 Bremse erzielen. Probiert es einfach selbst aus. PACKEN: Normaler Pro Pack mit einer Besonderheit: Slider muß in die Mitte der Leinengruppen - Nasen bleiben offen und eher vor dem Slider.
