  1. tracking in a freefly suit from an RW dive (I don't have an RW suit, so what do I do ...ha ha) is not as efficient than from a freefly dive. If you are in a sit, the correct track away technique for a freefly dive involves doing a cartwheel to head down (to maintain speed and then looking up at the horizon and tracking away. The improper method is to cork on to your belly 180 turn and then start tracking (sloppy dangerous corking and slow) Done correctly you will be travelling fast (downward and as you look to the horizon you will move very quickly away from the formation (first a steep/tracj bordering on head down which is a fast horizontal movement building up speed into a gradual belly to earth tracking position) This is all done very quickly and smoothly (ie. break off at 4,500, cartwheel, headdown a second or so and gradually flatten your position to flat track, flare at 3,500 wave off pull between 3,500 and...well...I usually pull above 2,900 or so) Also a good habit is to do a quick barrel roll at the end of your track to clear airspace above you before you pull (only takes half a second and may save your life). fly free ramon

I have about 200 jumps at 1.3. I like 1.3 because you can surf it a little with a hard turn onto final (parctice straight in landins first..see S&TA) or you can sink it in a back yard in brakes and PLF. a psycho pack can make them snivel a long time. I propacked mine with open nose and slider pulled out the front of the main to speed openins up a little. Plus they're cool if you suddenly want to do some crew. bloo skies ramon
  3. If you jump at Spaceland like I think you do , come talk to me (ramon or better yet, Derek, about the main). I recommend against buying a large higher performance main (cobalt stilleto) and then having difficulty selling later when it is too slow. bloo skies ramon
  4. I get the same run time error (BFDeal) on I.E.5.0 on NT.
  5. I'm working with a Master rigger. Basically he taught me how to do inspections and pack. When he starts to get busy I will do inspections for him while he is packing (to help him out for teaching me). When he has less work he shows me how to pack a weird rig or he will give me his rig and tell me to go inspect and pack it. He is a nice guy, if you are not in a hurry and don't want to blow money on the school, I would hang with a good rigger. bloo skies ramon
  6. I'm looking for a reserve/gear inspection checklist. I heard there were some on the internet but I can't find any. I have one in the Parachute Manual Vol II, but I was looking to see if any body ahd any more detailed ones or efficient ones. bloo skies ramon

My friend Tommy gut away his jedei and he found it about two miles from the DZ. Lucky ha ha. I imagine a spinning malfunction where the canopy is mostly inflated would be the worst scenario for it flying to Timbuktu, so keep your lines even, get good tight stows with 3" bites, leave a good 18" of line left over, and make sure you have good body position when you dump. bloo skies ramon
  9. The Vipers were made by Atair in Europe and sold here by skydepot. They are fully eliptical high performance (not extreme, but will still mess you up if careless). They were made by the same people that made the Space and Alpha and are now producing the Cobalt. You can find used ones for a really good price, my buddy loads his up at about 1.9 (probably a little too high) and he gets nice surfs. bloo skies ramon
