If it's not Oakenfold I'll usually have some Crystal Method, Kruder & Dorfmeister, or Orbital playing. When I show up at the DZ, I just plug my iPod in to the stereo in the packing area and let my playlists run. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

From the time I've started sit-flying I've always worn a wrist-mount. I've just learned to compensate so that I can read it. If it's a problem, see if your rigger can make you a hip-mount for your altimeter. Do not depend on your audible. It is a backup only. My ProTrack is set to go off below my break-off and deployment altitudes. If I hear it before I've initiated one of those two then I have severly screwed up. That is one way to pull it off, but watch the arm extension. You don't want to whack the step with your arm. A better way would be to pull yourself up a bit so your arms aren't fully extended over your head. You can then use them to push yourself away and back to provide you with the initial momentum.
