I've had some deep relection lately. The weather was a bit crappy here this past weekend, so I decided to stay at home rather than venture to the DZ and spend some time with my family. I spent Saturday with my Mom, we did lunch and a movie (Exorcism of Emily Rose - great flick, go see it!!) and some clothes shopping - it was lots of fun. She reminded me that we hadn't had one of those days since April - when skydiving started to kick into gear; and we used to get together for a day and talk all the time. Today I've been listening to the classical internet station - lots of very moving pieces and now I'm sad. I sold my clarinet (I had named her Tracy) in January to pay for AFF. I don't regret the decision because my TMJ did not allow me to play anymore and frankly, she could have done much better being played than collecting dust. I travelled to NY City to deliver her a man that was visiting family for the holidays - he was from New Orleans. I just heard that the school he ran (an arts school) suffered major damage in the hurricane. The thought of Tracy being destroyed has me so sad. When I purchased her in HS (it was so much money!) there was so much hope pinned on her (I was a music major) - and now not only is she gone from my life, but she may be destroyed. Not a grand thing to be thinking of today, and its not enough for me to re-think anything because skydiving has been the highlight of my life and I'm not about to give it up, and don't really plan on scaling anything back - but I am looking forward to the end of the season when I can catch up on things that have been neglected. Its all about balance I guess - and I'm looking forward to getting some of that back. Do you have regret from skydiving? Jen Arianna Frances

What to do for a bruised tailbone?
mailin replied to ntrprnr's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I have to respectfully disagree After my runway crash I saw a chiropractor that was able to manipulate the muscles surrounding the tailbone and made the pain DISAPPEAR. I went from not being able to sit in the car to drive to his office to being able to walk up stairs with ease. He also helped immensely after my bounce - tore many of the muscles in both hips (landed on my knees). I saw him the day after the incident and within 3 weeks I had no pain. He uses active release therapy - I'm a very strong advocate in it. The problem is finding someone who practices it. Jen edit to add link Arianna Frances -
You're incorrect. Out of the 2000 calendars order, there are 100 left. We sold them to the girls for an introductory price of $5 - they were to sell them for $30. After the introductory period we raised the price to $10 - which is the price the girls sell them for. As far as the issues with Jan - she seems to really enjoy nitpicking at Kate's hard work associated with JFTC. I won't even get into what she did with our calendar. Jen Arianna Frances

That picture was on tour in Boston a number of years ago and my art history class in HS attended. Its a fascinating picture because of the detail, but you really have to look close to see it. One day I'd like to have the money to have a few replicatoins in my house - they really are beautiful. Jen Arianna Frances

Are you talking about "The Arnolfini Marriage" by Jan van Eyck? Jen doh, somebody beat me to it Here's some nice detail of the mirror: Mirror detail Arianna Frances

Now that the summer has been winding down we're getting bigger stuff at Orange cause tandems are fewer, but New England on a whole has had fewer experienced jumpers this year from conversations I've had with folks - maybe its the high jump prices (currently $24). Best bet for larger RW is still Pepperell to my understanding - but we've got 4 way scrambles in Orange on Saturday and night jumps on Friday if thats your thing (Pepperell is also doing night jumps). I've consistently gotten on fun bigger stuff at CK but its a 6+ hour drive. I'm seriously hoping next year is better Jen edit to add: thankfully for me there's a majority of RW at JTown. Wow! She sure got big - with eyes to die for too! Jen Arianna Frances

I agree with you - met my husband in a chat room 7 years ago But... the lack of face-to-face contact in internet conversations does lend this medium to over sensationalism which I find a bit much sometimes. But I've met bunches of great people off here - actually, come to think of it, I've never met someone on here that I wouldn't want to see again You included - you coming down to Perris the end of the month? Jen Arianna Frances

I like dramazone.com better. Lots of people looking to get the attention they don't get in real life here. The drama gets a bit thick at times - so I go into SC and stir shit. Then bonfire gets a bit more tolerable and I come back. I have yet to see a day go by without someone whining about something looking for people to stroke their ego as a result Jen Arianna Frances

Can't you solve PR by using the FOIL method First Outside Inside Last? (t-1)(2t-1) F - 2(t square) O- (negative)t I - (negative)2t L - (postive) 1 Don't feel like taking the time to find my old books to solve your QR question - so good luck with that Jen Arianna Frances

15: 6 : 0 15 - the number of stand-up (most in no wind!) landings I've had out of the last 16. Ironically, my last tumble was on 100. What an amazing weekend. Lots of fun 4 way jumps - gawd, I love launching stairsteps Looking forward to 4 way scrambles next weekend and having a team next season! I love skydiving - and I love that the summer is over and all the experienced people can actually do some fun jumpin' instead of tandem jockeying all weekend. Fall rox!

Really? I thought the Pink Floyd one was the most cool - but only cause it was intentional. Jen Arianna Frances
