Christmas present from my brother's girlfriend.. *PIC*
mailin replied to grue's topic in The Bonfire
ooh, got a $50 GC to there for a present.... I want! Jen Arianna Frances -
I have done alot to bring down my heating bill. For starters - its stays at 64 starting November 15th - 50 from April 15th to November 15th. Our door to the deck is off limits in the winter - stopped up expandable foam and covered in plastic. All Windows (double pane replacements) are covered with a thick layer of plastic and heavy curtains. I have natural gas for my heat and hot water. If I ever get really cold I have a small electric space heater that I use (actually, I think the cats 'use' it more than me when I have it on) For the month of February last year I paid $522 for my heat (and this is living in a 3-decker, mind you - an apt. below and above us so there's heat everywhere). It took me until September to pay it all off Not looking forward to this year. But I'm glad I don't have oil. Jen Arianna Frances

It's a plan of mine! In reality, the only time I go up to PEI is in the summer (its quite boring during the 'off season'), and the last few years my family has rented out the house for some extra cash, so we haven't been able to get up there since '96 - but when I do I plan on dropping by

Where is it? You're not the first person to mention it and I'd love to try it and compare. We only go to Lester's cause my husband heard about it at an Expo's game one year. Well, that won't do you much good now, will it? Jen Arianna Frances
-
Thought you knew that? My family is scattered around the north east - from Providence, RI (me) up to Prince Edward Island - so I travel up there alot. Montreal is by FAR my favorite place in canada though. I really found Toronto to be pretty boring, where as there is so much history in Montreal you can't really get bored. French canadian heinz is better than ANY heinz ketchup you'll find in the US. I bought a case last year and when we go back in March I'll have to buy more! Some smoked meat sandwhiches from Lester's Deli in Outremont would be good too... danm it, now I'm hungry! Jen Arianna Frances

I go to Montreal often. Be prepared for cold. We went up there January 6th one year and it was -5 (F) without the wildchill. Quebec City is nice, but better to be experienced during the spring/summer. You can easily spend 4 days in Montreal - lots to see! Jen Arianna Frances

Help! I need a legitimate excuse for a 6 month leave of absence from work.

You should ask AggieDave what happened to him when he was trying to get a police job and the people hiring him read his comments on this site... ... oh you can't, he doesn't post anymore, no doubt because of that same issue. You better pray hard no one gets this to people who can fire you - cause you've dug yourself a HUGE hole here, with no one to blame but yourself. This wasn't smart my friend. Jen Arianna Frances -
well, considering the entire project is in .net - that probably won't work... thanks anyway Jen Arianna Frances

Do you know how to automate Word with C# to automatically replace certain words, add attachments and dispaly in a report, in real time? If so, you can have my job Jen Arianna Frances

oh man, I loved crystal pepsi. That and OK soda helped me through 7th grade Jen Arianna Frances

MP3 players & their USB connection, please help
mailin replied to sundevil777's topic in The Bonfire
Good buy! And its a flash drive, so if you kid drops it down a flight of stairs it should still work (unlike an iPod). Jen Arianna Frances -
I'm not arguing with you Wendy, I'm well aware of that - but the type of publicity this is getting versus other factors that can affect a pregnancy (and in a far greater percentage) is well... wrong. Jen Arianna Frances
-
oh please. Why aren't they harping on the ones that smoke throughout their pregnancies instead? Most woman who continue to skydive in their pregnancies are experienced enough to not do anything risky... its truely pathetic the type of publicity this is getting. Jen Arianna Frances
-
Abusive to who? I really doubt that if someone was pregnant and decided to skydive that anyone was pushing them out of the plane I'm so glad I don't watch tv. Jen Arianna Frances

oh goodness Arianna Frances

Anyone get it passed Rudolph? I got 348.3 but it stopped just on him. Jen Arianna Frances

I was taught this method by two different people at my DZ - it seems ridiculously easy. THe first time was after a drunken bonfire night - hehe, but after he showed me how to do it, he picked it up by the top skin and it stayed rolled up - had I tried to do that with my S folds it would have crumbled The second time is by a jumper that has one of Brian Germain's lotus' - and he was instructed to pack that way by Brian... he has no trouble getting it in the bag... versus me... When I get back to jumping I may try this way because I won't be jumping as much and want to minimize my packing time - psycho just seems faster. Jen Arianna Frances

oh that must have sucked... I've had a picture of Fiji on my wall for the last 3 jobs... one day I hope to actually get to go... very cool Jen Arianna Frances

Mistreatment of skydivers by EMTs
mailin replied to KillerKimmy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My DZ is very friendly with the EMTs and Police in the town - the police even use a parachutist as their logo. An elderly member of my DZ came down from a jump and was sitting in the packing area when he passed a blood clot in his lung and was dying. Member of the staff were there to help him immediately, while waiting for the EMTs I have never seen such passe action by the EMTs in my life - they had to make several trips back to the ambulance (which for some odd reason they had parked far away from the packing area) to get equipment - and they WALKED back - not running. I've never been so aggrivated by EMTs in my life. Does this have to be a skydiver specific thing? I"m not sure, but it left a sour taste in my mouth regarding the EMTs in that town. I hope I never require their services... Jen Arianna Frances -
You can help just by being there for her to talk to, and offer support. It can be hard, but she has her husband for all that 'take care of important stuff' now - just being there is the best thing you can do for her

Good luck to ya - as a Comp Sci major I had to take a ton of math. I took college algebra 4 times, no lie (and believe it or not, it wasn't cause I had failed it or anything). By the time I got to Calc II it wasn't totally foreign - I actually got a B in it. The more you do it, the easier it gets. Finals can suck, boy am I glad I don't have to do those anymore! Good Luck!
