  1. I'm so glad he had someone there for him when he passed on. A few years ago I had the priveledge of evaluating a cat for the siamese rescue I work with - it was 2 years old and was taken by animal control because the owner was arrested on animal cruely charges. The poor boy was dropped into a tub of oil and set on fire. He survived but had no tail, no ears, was blind in one eye, no whiskers and was pretty much hairless. Yet despite his ordeal, he loved people very much - he loved to be held and purred seemly all the time. He was adopted by an elderly woman who was legally blind herself, and her adult son who had Downs Syndrome. They loved Mishu (thats the name they gave him) more than anything, and when he finally succummed to cancer earlier this year, they were there to help him along. Had they only looked at his appearance and no what was inside, Mishu would have died in the shelter - but they took a chance, and I think they thought it was worth it. Sam's owner obviously did too. 2. NO offense or anything - but the game got pretty old real quick - no one was EVER on. I was on in the begining when it was first advertised and again last week - no one was ever on and it was hard to do ANYTHING in that game. THe amount of money they gave you was really lame and the graphics etc. didn't work on all systems. I work as a computer programmer, so I'm well aware of the work that goes into it. but don't blame us for a poor product. Had it been a better/more appealing product, you would have the numbers you need. Jen Arianna Frances
  3. wow - that is a big month! Congrats? I know the feeling Jen Arianna Frances
  4. Nope, I love the holidays. Its the only time of year when I can really concentrate on making other people happy, and I love that. Its the only time of year where almost nothing can put me in a bad mood - not the restraining order my mom took out against my dad, not the water main break in the basement that flooded my storage area ruining lots of things and destroying my dryer - nothing. I'd have my tree up already if we weren't travelling to KY for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I love this time of year
  5. Oh yes, GAP insurance was a definite - as we got screwed on a previous car loan because the ins. company paid less than was owed on the car. Its the main reason why I've been fighting my credit report for the last 14 months to get errors corrected. I'll never finance with chrysler financial again Jen Arianna Frances
  6. Thanks for the information. I found this interesting: We talked it over, and we're going to stick with the credit union. I just don't like companies that do this kind of business. Jen Arianna Frances
  7. every American car I've owned and my husband and his family has owned is in the shop with in the first 2 years for a major problem. My husbands Honda is now reaching the 2 year mark and hasn't had anything wrong with it, all we do is oil changes and tire rotations. My grandmother has only owned Toyotas - they have a high resale value and require very minimal work. There's a reason the top 3 car companies on the stock exchange are toyota, nissan and honda. 8. Maybe someone here can lend some insight, as I've never dealt with this before. I bought a new 2006 Corolla 2 weeks ago. The dealership I purchased the car through got me financing at 13% which was pathetic - so I went to my credit union and got financing through them for 8%. Today I get a call from the financing manager at the dealership (2 weeks after the fact mind you) that he found me financing for 7% with a 7 year warranty (car comes with 3 year warranty). I love the idea of saving money as we spent more than we wanted to on the car, but I find it slightly odd that I'm hearing about this 2 weeks after I have the car and have closed on the loan... The folks at my credit union were wonderful and very helpful - the people at the dealership, on the other hand, were not. What would you do? Jen Arianna Frances
  9. haha Ya, lets see who answers that question Jen Arianna Frances
  10. You'd have to see NPH humping the car seat to get the full effect Can't believe they're coming out with a sequal - I want to see if Harold finally makes it with Maria Jen Arianna Frances
  11. Great idea Vicki! Since I'm in New England there are many really great maple candies made locally (I'm not too partial to them unfotunately), but that might be a nice treat! Thanks for the help! Jen Arianna Frances
  12. Thanks for the info all! I feel bad telling her to get me anything at all, seeing as she's 78 years old We've been 'pen pals' for going on, gosh, 8 years now (wow! times flies) and every year we send something small to each other and she always sends the best stuff. Last year she sent me a small english puddings recipe book, which i just love. What would be a fun thing to send to her that would be US in theme? Jen Arianna Frances
  13. I have a very dear friend in York who has offered to send me a small gift for christmas. I am a big fan of english teas but am not sure how easy it is to send to the US - or how expensive for that matter. I usually buy loose teas from an english company on the internet once or twice a year, but my friend is really wanting to send me something. Is it unreasonable for me to ask for something like that due to cost of the product and cost to ship? Jen Arianna Frances
  14. And just a 45 minute drive to a Twin Otter thats here year round! www.jumptown.com Jen Arianna Frances

oh please. Lighten up - I'm sure your a real gem to work for. Secretary's deal with a ton of shit - I know, I was one for 6 years. You get paid beans and deal with people like you. Be thankful you have a secretary to help you and you don't have to do the work she does for you. Jen Arianna Frances
  17. I don't know about Born but Hush Puppies will repair/replace shoes for up to 3 years - its the reason we buy all my husbands work shoes from there. They're in a similar price range, perhaps they have a similar policy? Jen Arianna Frances
  18. Geesh, I must be the only person that really enjoyed HS. I really came into my own in HS and learned alot about myself - I believe its a large reason I'm the person I am today. I had minimal family guidance during HS (they were dealing with their own shit) and had very caring and patient teachers who taught me alot about myself. My 10 year is in 2007, I can't wait to see my old friends and get the chance to catch up. I can understand alot of people didn't enjoy HS and for that reason, don't go to the reunion. On a whole, if you go to it with the correct mindset (hopeful) then chances are you'll get more out of it. Jen Arianna Frances

    Mother Goose?

Did they reverse the W and V or did I learn my alphabet all wrong? Jen Arianna Frances
  21. ahh ok... I was in a similar boat a few years ago and opted out of insurance for a 3 weeks period, but it was because we couldn't afford it - if you can afford it its probably good piece of mind
  22. I thought you could get COBRA for up to 18 months... that, again, may be a state by state thing though... Why is there a lapse in coverage though? When I left my job my husbands insurance was able to pick up right away because of the drop in my coverage - we didn't have to wait until the first of the month. Jen Arianna Frances

    PRIMERICA

Agreed, they bend over backwards for customers - and i'm not just saying that cause my husband works for them, they really are fantastic. Rolling over 401ks from 2 other jobs (and 2 names) was a piece of cake, i didn't have to do a thing! Jen Arianna Frances
