  5. Lost 70 lbs. when I 'started' skydiving. Have kept it off for a year and exercise with a personal trainer twice a week with an additional 2 or 3 days on my own. Not really a success story - now I just look like I'm supposed to. Jen Arianna Frances
  6. Nashua, affiliated with Skydive Pepperell - which is on the MA, NH border. You should check out the DZ in that area - Jumptown, Pepperell and SD New England (Lebannon, ME). They even have bigger stuff than 182s Jen Arianna Frances
  7. Check out all of 'em! I'm biased though - I love Jumptown, great folks and great vibe. Next year promises to be great with the new facility finished by then. Hope to see you there!
  8. :3:0 Had an awesome weekend at Cross Keys - gosh, I love it there. Got sleeves, hoping they would help with my 130+ fall rate, but... nope. I gotta re-learn how to fall flat I think Nobody is gonna be able to jump with me.... Jen Arianna Frances
  9. Is he on your good side yet Andrea? Somebody has some schoolin' to get Jen Arianna Frances
  10. Ya, I'll be sure to tell this to my dad (Army guy who tried out for airborne but changed his mind last minute) - maybe he thinks sport jumping is the same and thats he won't do a tandem Jen Arianna Frances
  11. Ya, like he said, come to Jumptown in Orange, its just a short ride up Rt. 2. We've got lots of instructors - you won't be waiting on account of that If you do be sure to find me and say 'hi!' Jen D. Arianna Frances
  12. WTF? How can you make a statement like this without knowing all women in skydiving? I for one work out at a gym 4 days a week and follow a great diet - I take danm good care of myself, as do the gals at my DZ. As a matter of fact I have never met a woman in skydiving who does do their best to take care of themselves - hell, one of the girls at my DZ does yoga every day. Step down off your high horse and come back to earth. If you're admiring surfer girls so much why don't you find one of their forums to troll. edited for a potty-mouth comment Jen Arianna Frances
  13. Last I heard they're expecting an end of the year opening... which no doubt will turn into February Jen Arianna Frances
  14. Yep, she graduated. She's a physicians assistant working at Beth Israel right now. She was very busy but did well. Good luck! Jen Arianna Frances
  15. A place that has both lots of history with places to explore and white sandy beaches. so.... a place like Egypt and Bali combined Jen Arianna Frances
  16. If I bought it new that would be easy, but I bought it used, and for more money than I planned on spending (it was essentially new) - spending additionally money wasn't in the cards when I first bought it (and being without it for any length of time is out of the question of course - I'm obsessed! ) Anyway, I'm gonna take some pictures for Ankie this weekend
  17. Details! do tell do tell.... Jen Arianna Frances
  18. a club... didn't we get in trouble for that before? Jen Arianna Frances
  19. huh? another sexist remark? I can think of 10 people off the top of my head that deserve that distinction before you. I didn't find anything sexist in that remark, it was opinion. geesh! Jen Arianna Frances
  20. oh - well, yes. Its only been packed twice since I've owned it, and still having that problem. I'm not the only one at my DZ that has this problem either... Jen Arianna Frances
  21. Its packed by me 90% of the time. I have the same problem with the riser covers when its packed by a packer/rigger too... Jen Arianna Frances
  22. Yep, thats about it. I think the reason more newbies get into a wings is due to the cost - its generally cheaper than the other containers. I have a wings (bought when it had 20 jumps on it) with all the extras - articulated harness, quilted back pad, cordura BOC etc. Its very comfortable. I mean, very comfortable compared to the Javelins I had jumped as a student. The customer service is great too. I'm not a fan of my container atm cause packing is a bitch when you have the biggest main for the container; but thats not the fault of the container. But... the riser covers suck! I have a horrible time keeping them closed after the container is closed. It would probably work well with mini risers, but I have standard risers. Several other wings people at my DZ have said they have the same problem. The RSL lanyard is too long, with no place to store the excess. Racer is still the MOST comfortable rig I have ever had the pleasure of jumping and wouldn't be opposed to having it as my next. I love the pin protection! Jen Arianna Frances
  23. My cousin went there... you won't have time for anything!! You'll need skydiving to relax though - thats for sure! Good Luck! Jen Arianna Frances
  24. Unfortunately when hobbies become careers they lose much of the allure. I've met many mechanics who drive junk cars... Thankfully for me I never really coded for fun (except game programming, always loved that - but its not what I do for work atm) so work isn't so bad. Jen Arianna Frances
