  1. I totally agree with you. I too love my Pilot. I haven't packed it yet cuz was told wait until I had 50 jumps on it so it's not so slippery. I've got 50 jumps on it so may start packing it myself soon. I did the demo program at Square one and demoed a Spectre, Sabre 2 and Saffire before deciding on the Pilot. I chose the Pilot because I got the best landings from the Pilot and I found it to be responsive under canopy, at least for what I want now. 2. I've worn both a belt and vest and prefer the belt. I wear 18 1/2 lbs. in the tunnel and when jumping with big guys, but usually I can take out a lot of the weight. I prefer the belt because I can wear it outside my jumpsuit and take it off if I need to (example: landing in water). It's low enough that it doesn't interfere with my handles. 4. I think tatoos are awesome, but I could never get one because I am deathly afraid of needles. I won't even give blood. If someday I ever get over my fear of needles I'd get just a little tatoo of a canopy on my ankle. But I don't think that will happen any time soon . 5. I totally agree, we should do that again...soon!! Luv ya Jeannie and Happy Birthday!!! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  6. I already wished Jeanne a happy birthday in another thread, but Jeannie is such an awesome person she is entitled to have multiple birthday wishes. I didn't say this before, but can't resist now...ha ha Jeannie...you're now older than me...for another 9 mos. But if we get to feeling old my friend we can just go to the age guessing lady at Excaliber who tells us she thinks we're 30 sumthin! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  7. From reading your post I would think it would take a lot to embarass you....so I'm really looking forward to hearing what could embarass cocheese Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

    Edible Flowers

Last year we had a 4th of July party and my sister in law brought a dish that included edible flowers. She was so excited that she had brought this really original dish. Everyone picked out the flowers and didn't eat them even though she told everyone they were edible flowers. Think some people have a problem with eating flowers, not just because they're flowers but because people aren't used to eating them. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  9. I would say what other people have said, and add to that have a current photo for your avatar so that people will recognize you and come up and introduce themselves (looks like you have that). Since I'm pretty shy and won't go up to people I don't know it helped me to have people recognize me from my avatar and come to me and introduce themselves. 10. You are absolutely correct. Gia is such an awesome person. I haven't known her that long (was introduced by Rosa when she initiated us into the PMS), but got to spend a weekend in Vegas recently with Gia and Jeannie (compliments of Gia who had won a Vegas weekend and shared it with her friends). She is one of the nicest people I know. Always smiling, laughing, singing, dancing...so much fun to be around - just an all around NICE person. Luv ya Gia
  11. Happy Birthday Jeannie!!! Have a GREAT day Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  12. The following is an e-mail that was sent to me recently. Thought it would be appropriate to post here
  13. Happy Birthday Justi! Have FUN sweetie And please do post pics soon
  14. Thanks for clarifying. I was indeed talking about my experience in a controlled situation. I would not advocate anyone trying this on their own, just wanted to let people know what I had done in my canopy control class, and my experience. 15. OMG. I got so much information from his course. We started at 8:30 am. Had lectures, jumped, debriefed, more lectures, more jumps. We didn't finish until almost 8 pm. Sooo much info. I'm gonna keep practicing what I learned and I'm confident I'll be a much better, safer canopy pilot. Sorry, he didn't show the low swoop, late toggle video, but maybe he shows that in the advanced course
  16. I'd heard of people doing it, and thought "no way, if I've got a perfectly good canopy over my head I'm not gonna collapse it". Well...I did Scott Miller's canopy control course last weekend and one of the excercises was to fully stall our canopy to where it collapsed. He didn't just say go out and stall your canopy. He showed us videos of people stalling their canopies, and then letting up on the toggles so it reinflated. He told us exactly what to expect - the end cells would come together and we would feel like we were falling backwards out of a chair. He told us that he had done it hundreds of times with no problems, and that all his students had done it with no problems, and that the worst that could happen is we'd have some line twists if we let up on the toggles unevenly, but he showed us how to avoid that, and we were doing this excercise high enough that we could cut away if necessary. So I did it and was glad I did because I found out that my canopy will not collapse when I'm flying with toggles all the way down, I had to wrap the steering lines around my hands a few times to get my canopy to stall. Now that I know my canopy won't collapse when flying with my toggles all the way down I have a fuller range than I had before. It was a great learning experience and I wanted to share it. Waterbeds

My husband and I have our original water bed frame that we bought in 1977. Have replaced pretty much everything but the frame. We love our waterbed and can't imagine sleeping on anything else. We have a featherbed on top of the waterbed matress and a down comforter on top....soo comfy
  18. 0:5:0 Did Scott Miller's Canopy control course...AWESOME!!! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  19. Thanks La Donna. I may take you up on that for one night, then stay with my parents the other night, I'll see. Will you have your license by then? I need to find some other belly flyers to jump with. Think most of the SD people are freeflyers . Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  20. Hi Gia, I am going . I'm planning to be there Saturday and Sunday, possibly Friday afternoon. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  21. Just got the Eloy Boogie video in the mail. It kicks ass. You kick ass! Don't know you very well since we just met at the Eloy Boogie, but you seem like a great guy, and I was really happy to see that I did make it in the video, just don't blink or you'll miss me . But it wasn't your fault the weather didn't cooperate for our balloon jump. I think you are great and look forward to meeting you at other boogies
  22. I don't have anything on my calendar for that weekend and it sounds like FUN so I think I will be there. It's only a 5 hr. drive and I have relatives to stay with...maybe. How far is it from Danville to Hollister? Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  23. Mine is about $40/mo. and includes locker/towels. It's YMCA, nice women's locker room with steam room, sauna, jacuzzi. I actually get a 10% discount because my husband is on the Y board of directors. Nice weight room with lots of machines. Lots of classes which are free with membership. I go every night during the week so it's worth it. Not too crowded, I never have to wait for machines. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
  24. Ohhh....Andrea you are so upbeat. Hope you heal soon. What a trooper!! If you wanna go snowboarding call me....or if you wanna go skydiving...call me...I vote for skydiving !! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

    Boundin!

I ordered it!!! Can't wait to get it even though I'm not in it. If the weather would have cooprerated I'd have been in it on a balloon jump, but unfortunately got cancelled due to weather. Oh well....there's always next year. But I still wanna see all my friends having fun....thanks Duece Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller
