My daugher and I spent time with him at the vets and said our good byes. It was so hard cuz even though he was so sick he purred and rubbed up against us and went from Erin's lap to mine. He looked up at us as if to say take me home. OMG we felt so bad, cried buckets. This was one cat that had used his nine lives. Felix was 10 years old and had suffered from kitty lukemia and aids most of his life. Since his immune system was compromised he'd get sick easily, but he always pulled through. There were many times we thought we'd lose him but he'd always surprise us. This time the vet told us he could try to treat him but it was doubtful treatment would help and the humane thing was to put him down. Hard to let go - but he'd suffered enough in his life so we did the humane thing as the vet suggested. Felix will be cremated and I don't want to have his ashes sitting on an urn on the mantel, I want to scatter them on an ash dive. I hope this doesn't sound silly, an ash dive for a cat. Actually I don't care if it sounds silly, he may have been just a cat but he was part of our family. I've never done an ash dive so I need help to plan it . Thanks for any help. Corvette drivers do the wave thing too. Other Corvette drivers wave to me all the time, but I've never had anyone that I didn't know wave to me in my husband's Jeep Cherokee, so I guess it has to be the other kind of jeep? Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

It was an otter. We were set up at the front of the plane, I was standing outside with both hands on the bar. She was inside and had my arm grips. She gave me a shake to indicate she was ready, then I gave the count with my leg, out, in, out and it seemed like timing was okay, and the exit was stable. Thanks Bobby. It was so nice of you to make sure my jacket got back to me. But actually, I don't even need it now cuz the weather is great in so cal now. Hope your weather is good too. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

Chris Irwin. I've got a thing for guys with long hair. He usually has it under a baseball cap or a helmet, but when it's loose I think he's really hot. Course it doesn't matter what I think, we're both married. But I still think he's hot

I was doing two ways with a friend. I was outside and she was inside taking my arm grips. She hit her head on exit and I hit my shoulder. We figured out that obviously since she hit her head she wasn't diving down, but what I am unclear on is why I hit my shoulder. Was it because I didn't swing out far enough on exit or just because she had my arm grip when she left (hitting her head). Exit was stable despite hitting the plane on exit. We had to leave the DZ before having time to talk to a coach, and know it will bother me until I can talk to a coach next weekend, so thought I'd ask in the forum. Have you had to read your posts the next day to see what you wrote?
Evelyn replied to Evelyn's topic in The Bonfire
I was just talking to someone at the DZ about this. Posting when drinking and then the next morning you read the posts to see what you wrote and if you offended anyone. This has happened to me a couple of times. Has anyone else done this. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller -
You're doing great sweetie. You've breezed through levels 1 -4 , so no reason why you can't do that through the rest of your levels. I thought level 4 was the hardest and you aced that (know this since we've been PM'ing). As far as the landing thing, I think flaring early is something that a lot of us do in the beginning. I'm not experienced enough to give advice, but get good advice where you can, and I'm sure you'll learn very quickly. Good luck! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

Congratulations! We were really scared when we bought our house, worried about how we were going to afford it, etc. Now 20 years later we realize it was a good thing we bought then cuz we couldn't afford to buy our house at the prices today. I'd really kind of like to sell the house though and move to a trailer at the DZ

Need advice. PM being sent. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

So last year I forgot my parent's anniversary for the first time. I heard about it from my mom for weeks afterwards, because "I'm the one person who always remembers, it's so unlike me to forget" so made sure I didn't forget this year. I always send funny cards rather than sentimental ones, cuz I figure they know I love them, I call every week and visit every month and I figure everyone can always use a good laugh. The card I sent had an old couple sitting on a porch and the man was saying "I think the day we met was the happiest day of my life" and the lady says "me too" and you open it and the man says "you think the day we met was the happiest day of your life?" and the lady says "I think it was the happiest day of YOUR life". Anyway, this is exactly something my parents would say, so I thought is was hysterical. My mom was offended because of the picture of the old couple, and did I think they looked that old. I explained that I didn't think they looked old, but that that was something I could see them saying. She said I should have pasted their photos over the old people then she might have thought it was funny. Then she went on to tell me how they got such beautiful cards from my sister and brother and niece that it made them cry. Anyway I apologized and promised to send a "nice" card next year. But now I feel even worse than I did last year when I forgot their anniversary . So I'm wondering, do you think I was wrong to send that card thinking they'd find it funny (my parents usually have a good sense of humor, my dad and everyone thought it was funny - just not my mom) or is my mom just being overly sensitive? I left my jacket at Eloy. It was a brand new really nice jacket. Realized I'd left it once I got home but then forgot about it. Got a PM from Bobby, one of my roommates at the Holiday Boogie, telling me that I'd left my jacket and he was giving it to Tonto to bring to Perris. Then got a PM from Tonto saying he had my jacket and what should he do with it. I had him leave it at manifest and they kept it for me until my friend from the UK who was staying at Perris picked it up and brought it to Elsinore to give to me. It may not seem like a big deal, the return of a jacket, but it just goes to show what great people skydivers are and how they take care of each other. So many thanks Bobby, Tonto, Perris Manifest staff, Stella and just skydivers in general for being such great people

Elsinore? Elsinore? Why is it that my bottle of Shiraz always ends up there? ltdiver I'll be there Saturday with your bottle of Shiraz. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

[reply Yep...I have a bottle of Shiraz for you that I keep drinking and replacing. I'll get it to you one of these days. Wow, what a memory you have, girl. Perhaps we can sit down have a bottle together sometime. ltdiver Yay Lori, I would love to share a bottle of wine with you. But I'm gonna jump at Elsinore until Perris dries up. Wow, you really -have- turned into a skydiver, haven't you Evelyn... ltdiver Yep...I have a bottle of Shiraz for you that I keep drinking and replacing. I'll get it to you one of these days. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

I love getting kisses and hugs from my skydiving buddies. I go to the dz pretty much every weekend and always get lots of hugs and kisses, so figure the math. I think that skydivers are passoniate people and like to express themselves. Hence lots of kisses and hugs. If you are not getting hugs and kisses you are at the wrong dz. You should........Most of the people are great. Petty crime (pickpockets and such.....same as anywhere) are rampant but not much violent crime in that city. Some really great stuff to see like the old city and Fort. Get a feel for it during the day and see if you want to hang out at night. Just keep in mind that there IS trouble to get into.........just don't go looking for it. Good. I will keep that in mind. Will only be there during the day, for just one day. Ummm..........it's Colombia..........anyway........I'll assume you are stopping in Cartegena. If so.......there's a "party" bus that takes you around the town and stops at the bars. Ride it........you'll have a BLAST. Just be careful and don't go down ANY dark alleys. Thanks for the info. I was wondering if I even wanted to get off the ship in Columbia. Just checked the cookies. Have another minute or two to go, so I have time to post
-
Okay, got 10 min. before the cookies are done. It's a 15 day cruise to Mexico (several different locations), Columbia, Costa Rica, Panama canal. Should be lots of fun. Benn to all the locations before except Pamama and Columbia - but that will be another post. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

Thanks Rosa. I'll be careful. Forgot to turn on the oven so have time to post while I wait for it to heat up

\ No way...I'm jumpin with him Saturday

I'm drunk. I came home from the gym all excited about booking our 15 day cruise, so kind of celebrated by drinking wine. Now I'm kinda drunk but have to bake cookies...don't wanna disappoint Frenchie. My husband and I always go out on Fridays for dinner at a friend's restaurant so this is the only night I can bake cookies. Hope I don't forget an important ingredient
