Hi Darcy...don't feel bad about not heading to the DZ today. I started out and turned around when it started raining. Think it cleared up later, but don't think it was a great day for jumpin in So. Cal. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

Had planned to jump all day, then party all night. But driving to the DZ it started raining so I turned around and went home figuring I had a lot of stuff to do at home rather than waiting around all day for the weather to clear. Now the weather is great and I'm kicking myself for not sticking to my original plan. Now all my friends will be having fun without me . But at least I will be heading to the DZ tomorrow with hopefully better weather

I work only a mile from where I live so I could jog or ride my bike to work, but I go to the gym after work which is 10 miles away. Yeah, I could find another gym closer, but I've belonged to the same gym for over 20 years and I get a discount since my husband is on the board of directors (it's a YMCA gym). It's bad enough that I have to pay $2.86 a gallon for premium (I have a Vette so have to use premium), but our RV only get like 5 miles to the gallon and we're camping this weekend, driving from L.A. to Carpenteria, about 90 miles, so it's gonna cost a lot to get there and back. My husband told me "just relax and enjoy the weekend, don't worry about gas prices". I will try to do that but I am still really upset that gas prices are so high. The reason I was asking here is because the DZ, and my rigger is an hour + drive for me. I am going out of town this weekend, so if it was something I needed to get my reserve repacked for I'd have made time to go there. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

Thanks. That explains a lot. Like why I didn't notice it sooner. I was kind of in a hurry to beat traffic so just grabbed my gear and threw it in my car. My Vette is 10 years old and really bumpy so my rig got to do lots of settling between San Diego and Los Angeles. I like your idea about watching my reserve being packed. I will plan to do that next time. I want to learn everything about my gear because the more I know the more comfortable I am. Thanks

No - I know I've got lots of stains on my rig, all due to crappy landings , but this is the reserve pushing up against the container - not a cosmetic thing. But I will take your advice and have my container washed and scotch guarded once I learn how to land , BTW - it was nice meeting you Jeff. I was impressed that you remembered making my container since you do so many. But I guess not everyone has the initials EFS. When I was deciding if I should have my name or initials embroidered on my rig we decided that by using my initials someone without those initials could still buy it if I ever wanted to sell, and in the meantime if someone commented on the EFS I could act all innocence and say "whatever do you mean, those are just my initials"

I just noticed that there is an outline of a circle on my container where my reserve is, under the reserve pin cover, but only on one side, like it is pressing against the fabric of the container. Will this affect the performance of my reserve? Should I have it repacked? What would cause this? I jumped at a new DZ last weekend and the packer shortened my closing loop - could that be the reason? I know it wasn't like that before. My container is an Infinity and my reserve is a Smart. Don't know what all that is about...just wanted to say hi to my former roomie and hope rounds and stuff are going well. I watch Greys Anatomy and think of you . Look forward to seeing you again sometime
