I personally use the University of Phoenix libary for what ever research I need to do in business or personal. As they are the largest peer reviewed data you can find. Plus to back up this information I use other sites as well and not just one or two..more liek 4 to 7 for most projects since I dont ever want to get caught not having the information correct. Why would anyone just use one source for college work?? bets the hell out of me. Then that person should get a failing grade. Was wondering if any one knew the details of what happened to Santos Matos in Z hills tandem> Ive heard that he had a heart attack but did not ever get the full details. Does any one have a old photo of him... He was a great man whom I had the pleasure of meeting once well working with that is. and when I heard of his death in 91 was sad to see him go. They even named the DZ after him at Mcdill AFB, that I had jumped at in 94 when attending jump master school there... My understanding and from all the Army viedos that Ive seen was the free bag if and when it does get caught will still deploy the reserve. That is also why the bridle can deploy the reserve even if the reserve PC is caught on something. What scares me is the round parachutes (reserves) that do not have a free bag and I could see these going into a horse shoe. thank god for the squares. Question about causes of accidents
kenneth21441 replied to EricGleason's topic in Safety and Training
Accidents just do not happen as there are factors that come about with these. If you recall the 28th of Jan 1986 when the shuttle blew up after launch. It was not just one factor but many; O-rings, being cold out, design, etc... So this being the case. Skydiving accidents happen due to several factors. So lot of people want to just say pilot error when it can be other factors. My last malfnction report while in the Army went like this: a jumper died and was found 3 hours after the operation. First thing was that one door was broke so the jumpers had let one pass through then the jumpers moved to the other side and jumped. There was a door bundle that you need to give a 3 sec. time to release before a jumper goes. Jumper was 200 lbs + including weight of ruck sack 60 lbs and his M-60 another 30 lbs. Jumper exited in a dive out and his ruck sack was not secured with the single point release running around his leg. In the end the jumper had 14 line twist when the NCO's found him. So that 28ft dia parachute was now much smaller and with that weight he was moving. ] Jumper broke both of his femurs etc.. You get the point. Well the blame came down to the Jumpmaster team for moving the jumpers against what was planned and trained for. Not having the equipment (ruck) secured. DZ party for waiting so long to begin a search for the missing jumper etc... So accidents do not just happen. We try all that we can to prevent them but that is the nature of the beast in a way of saying,. Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith -

Photo trivia - ParaGear catalog cover
kenneth21441 replied to The111's topic in Photography and Video
Since I dont know what the pic is yet for the cover I must say that the photo was reversed (flipped) Just a real guess /// Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith -
The pistol you purchased will work for self defense. As the story of the difference rounds is noted. You might want to see who reloads near you and have a box of custom rounds made if you live in an apartment or have loved ones in another room (close By). This is a reduced amount of powder in the case that will allow you to hit your target without over doing it. Be sure to keep your ammo separate from the pistol and if you plan to buy another caliber be sure that you mark them in a plastic bag or so to avoid confusion later... I do not know if you have kids or such but would recommend a trigger lock or so to prevent unauthorized use. Safety: Never carry a round in the chamber Always assume the pistol is loaded Never point it unless you know what you are going to hit etc. Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith

I thought that suicide was against the Koran. But so is crashing into a building or straping on a jacket with some TNT. While I feel sorry that they had to go this way I sure wished they had taken out a few others of their beliefs with them. So that way they all can go to that paradise that they think is so nice. It just makes me made when our policy is put the test everytime we try to take care of business. When it was the US who allowed these powers to stay in power, not including the Saudi's who let these powers also stay. Why did Bin Lindians mom got to visit him with no questions asked or not even a tracking ??? Why did we just fire off two rockets when they attacked our embassey in Africa in 1999?? So with that put all on a plan and drive into there own sites. Ideal of Mecca comes to mind, Just 46Km from Jiddah. Suicide in this way saves lives. Most of if not all my turns below 500 feet are braked turns: that is brakes set at 25 to 50 percent then turning in the direction needed. This limits my speed of the turn and get some control factor. Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith

Controls opening of the canopy. Without it you wished it was there. Im sure there are other data on this in this forum. Also check with your instructor or rigger for more data. Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith

This sort of happened to us here in Marshall, Mi. Where the owners of the airport operation and the city were trying there hardest to kick the skydivers out by not letting us us the vary bathrooms that we had built along with that we could not use the hanger for packing so there we were out in the sun. tells you alot of what the sun can do when your packing in it all day long.... Well that has been cooled off and now we can use our bathrooms and can pack in the hanger. As having jumpers here help promote the city and airport. Why did they not know this since we are located near two of the busy interstates: I69 and I94 and jumpers can be seen from both of these areas.

As a veteran it takes alot to sign up and go off to foriegn lands to meet people.... But when your time is over and you are back in the other world this data should be kept out of others hands. give me your SSN, date of birth, name etc.... and Im sure that someone could do lots of damage like sign up for phone service, electric company, buy a home or rent a home... Not including the passport and other ID issues that we face in the modern world. Oh yeah, Did i forget the part of not paying for anything....... try and then get something done..... What about a job that checks your credit report?? Looks like fast food is your new job.... That is what scares me and to have our own government agency that is for the veterans wait several weeks before we know about it and to do nothing really to make sure that this had not happened.... What the F*ck!! If that had happened to me I would have been fired and put away, let it happen in our own system: get promoted or what... This gives a big Black eye to all of us...... Whats is the total cost???? Millions and my lost for respect for the people in charge of this... Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith

Thats an easy one. invest some of the funds into real estate and travel to jump. Since Ive already been all over maybe retire at 37 in the Philippines or in Asia area in general./// Why due to you can live real cheap and the money will last alot longer..... Not that I am greedy but you have to think about that one... Why real estate so i have some funds still coming in from rent and selling if needed. But generally the value should go up if the property is taken care of. Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith

Kinda sounds like the reason to invade Iraq
kenneth21441 replied to akarunway's topic in Speakers Corner
I have a better answer: Statgic bombing of sites with nuclear weapons. thus making the largest parking lot for a Wal-mart that can also sell oil. That would clear up any in fighting. Big Business Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith -
Well after all the time that we have served our country the same system that takes care of sort of really let us all down. How could they do something so stupid as to let our records be stolen and then to wait a while before it was released, maybe they were hoping the scum bags would have a heart and turn the data in or maybe aliens would land and save the day. I just received my letter today from the VA and can only add up how much this cost our service members in not only this mailing but the fact that we have served and some of us had died and now to be shafted like this. I just feel that I need to vent this off here and want to blow off some steam. Because there is nothing else we can do: what cry over when we should grab the bull by the horns and beat him down. So what's to stop someone from ordering a seal press and die with your seal symbol on it from Para-Gear? I guess nothing can stop that other then I had did my part by keeping my seal out of the picture. And if that low life wants to spend the cash to buy a seal with my letters then maybe he should just go out and get his riggers ticket and do the work himself. But what do I know??? I have found that riggers/ skydivers tend to take care of our own and if we can get justice it can be done within our own community. A word of mouth goes along way in this business. Just my two cents on how I feel on this issue... Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith

Looking for 3 dealers that can help me
kenneth21441 replied to TaylorC's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Why not contact RWS directly. After all they are the ones who made it plus they know who there dealers are...... Hope that this helps. Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith -
Bob loves his target and we always put a dollar on it. Of course I must let him have it, as due respect. Bob is from Battle Creek, MI and his sister is a great person also even when she was not feeling well. You are correct its alot better to see Bob then see him not at all. This is one man I respect not only from his been there, done that, and owns the t-shirt. But the fact that he knows his stuff I hope that when I reach his age that I will still remember as much as he does. I personally think that we should start working on a book on his life now. Just wished I had the time to write it all down from his many years of jumping and all........ This man knows when skydiving was dangerous and sex was safe.... If that was so true. Ken..

I sure hope that this was fake, but then again how can someone be soooo stupid. I guess this is the new Army then what I was in. Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith

I guess I needed to spend more time on spelling it all out. In reference to the fact that nylon degrades with time. In this I mean that every time you pack a parachute it is being worn (is that why PD has a chart to keep track of the repacks on the data plate), not including the UV light that the nylon is exposed to durning the years. this does not even take into account if there is still a manual or if there are any needed changes. I would say that if you plan on staying on with skydiving that you buy your own rig. It will pay for it self in the long run just be sure to pay yourself back for it. New and used gear has its good points and bad points but the best thing to state here is get any gear checked by a rigger. Personally I got new gear so it fit me like I wanted with the colors that I wanted and etc.... Hope this helps, Enjoy,.
