Well the insurance stuff is not working out so much like I wished it would at times. So I am going to keep trying and trying to find my market place in the great state of Michigan. With this I am working on setting up a LLC corp here and bring it all under one roof. My rigging business can only take me so far until I test for the Master Lic. and in Michigan that does not keep you going unless the snow and/ or winter do not arrive. yeah right. So I have set up another areas that will permit me additional sources of funding for my family. Selling items on the internet. How sure am I will it work.... Dont know for now but will be marketing the hell out of it........... here in the next few days..... Plus I will be selling small items at fairs and flea markets...it is a nice deal and I love it where I can get gifts for family and friends really cheap..that is a small bonus.. Just wanted to vent this out some... Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith

Can someone explain wing loading?
kenneth21441 replied to dweeb's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
A good to add here is a highly loaded wing will ware out faster in handling the added stress of opening and flying. Say (example) a 1.0 wing load will last 800-900 jumps and a 1.9 wing load will last 500 -600 jumps. Its just like over loading your car for every 100 extra pounds you use an extra 1 percent in fuel etc... Here is one that I got off the net from my home town papaer a few weeks ago. Every time I tel someone about it they dont believe it until I show them this. He wins my award for the time. SOLICITATION CHARGE: A Battle Creek man, 55, was arrested on a charge of soliciting a prostitute after he complained that the woman took his money without providing sex. The man told Battle Creek police he picked up the woman, who he knew from past encounters, near Battle Creek Avenue and Capital Avenue Southwest about 11:40 a.m. Wednesday. He said they went to an apartment and they agreed she would have sex with him for $10. Both undressed and she asked for the money but when he handed her a $20 bill she said she didn't have change. He told police the woman dressed and said she would go to a nearby gas station to break the $20. The man said he waited naked for the woman to return but when she didn't, he reported the larceny. Police charged him with solicitation. Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith

How do I write someone's name with an MBA?
kenneth21441 replied to bertusgeert's topic in The Bonfire
Is this for a class? Does it need to be in APA formatt? If you have to include this M.B.A. on someones note or paper this person sounds like they are too proud of that. I mean I would be but not to the point you call me Ken B.S.B.M. or Ken FAA Rigger I dont care. But you caould always search for that on the net I am sure and if it is for school in APA check out there web site. The discovery show myth busters did a special one on the air quality and a small room and found that you will not die if in a inclosed areas from this. But Ive heard of some who like to do it in the tub and try to capture the gases.???? I personally liked doing it under water at depth and you could feel it run up you wet suit... And no one ever knew it because it mixed with the other bubbles from your breathing... NO smell underwater but not sure if they got it on the surface..hahaha Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith

This whole subject brings back some wild days when I was much younger. And not yet a skydiver. We were all at summer camp I was around 12. And we were receiving our safety briefing on the swimming pool when I let a loud and long one out that laster for a good 20 secounds if not more. The guy giving the briefing stopped and they all looked my way. I was so embassed but when ahead and finished. Afterwards the instructor was mad but everone thought the big kid had done it. and not me.... As I sit here writing this it still is funny,.....

I just did not have that IRNA port deal and saw that I could send it too them. So Thats what I did, but to send me a new one there must have been some issues with the one that I sent. On a footnote: I jumped it Sunday and really liked it. Before I used to use it as a beeper / back up in my helmet but this time I made a glove pocket and got to see that thing in action in a sort of speaking. I may never go back to the old large dial ones again. But since I have one might as well as still have a back up for night jumps and when doing video etc,,,,,, If you dont have a neptune: Get one youll love it...Esp. since all our other gear cost so much this one is worth the cash here. Of course that list is posted all over Bragg and Pope. Even gives you the address of the place. I once sold Crusty Pizzas part time and had to deliver out to Lindas Private Club just over Harnet County line in the trailer park. Well two trailers that is. That address was posted correctly. Just for you all to know when they saw that I had pizzas I collected the money and go out of dodge. I do recall back in what 94 that Air Force Navigator that was caught in some gay bar and kept saying he was not gay, even his sister said my brother is not gay. Well the off post leter was for Pope also and he is no longer in the Air Force. Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith

The reaon why I must say that Bragg is nice is that I served 7 years there and PCSed 3 times there. I spent my time well in learning the ropes of paying my dues first. What I mean is dont take a new recriut out of AIT (Rigger school) and then send them to a SO's (Special Ops) unit. They do see the real army and that can get them in trouble. If you know what I mean? I spent time with the teams traveling to Central America and yes the teams take care of the riggers. as we take take of the teams. Any duty assigment is what you make of it... Period. I loved it when the teams could pack there HALO rigs when they left the home base as that allowed us to use less people to support operations and allowed the NCOs to observe as inspectors and assist the members in any questions that they had. You want to know one placed that sucked was Saudi. Dealing with those people at times was like fighting small little battles in meeting of the minds but really it was like dealing with my five year old... But it was still good when it came to actually doing my job... Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith

Sent my neptune in for uploading of new software and they sent me a new neptune for what ever reason. I must say that the orginal was the first model with no updates and was suprised to see a new one when it arrived Friday night. Must have been a problem somewhere and am speaking loud on this great service here. Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith

Many years ago back in the early 90's. I Rolled pack my main tight to see how it opens and when I pulled at 3500 feet. It took over 1500 feet to open had my hands on the handles and was about to cut away when it started to unroll. I guess I trusted my equipment too much..... But I did not cut away and from that I learned do not roll the nose and tail so tight and so much.....espially when it comes to pulling at 3500 feet..... Also was wanting to test different packing methods that if I was going to pack I might as well jump. Best course: play it safe and do what you know for others. No Due to human nature we all make mistakes. The deal that happened with these rag heads is well before Bush. Think back to Carter and the Iran deal. What did we do about it? enough said there. and add this all up to before Sept 11th what did our nation due. Nothing. What about when the Taliban took over in 95? What did we do? Nothing. Where Bush went wrong is he added in Iraq and forgot about the other part where this all happened. Its sort of hard to rebuild a nations military that was reduced in forces to levels equal to before the Korean deal> under the Clinton Administration. Then when Sept 11th happened the USA had a real eye opener. Now blame a man who decided to take them out with wanted dead or alive: pref Dead. Please dont be TSTO TOO STUPID TOO LIVE Look at all facts and not those of what the media wants you too read..... Making a velcro rig free flyable??
kenneth21441 replied to rideclimbfall's topic in Gear and Rigging
Personally I would recommend buying a newer container designed for free flying. and use the older one for a spare or backup rig for other types of jumps. An example of this I have a MT1XX military rig that I jump for what ever I want but do not use it for Photography or RW. I have a Vector 3 for those jumps., and the good thing is I can do back to back jumps if needed. But just dont trust that spring loaded PC near the helmet camera........ Too many people have died from possible entanglments... But if you want to go through the whole process start with a master rigger in your area. Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith -
Freeflying is fun as hell as long as you know that you are falling faster then before. Just a point that belly flying you travele between 90 to 120 MPH.. Depending on weight etc... Free flying in a stand up you are going over 150 to 200 MPH.... Its fun and fast. Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith

The airborne museum at ft lee was cool to see all the things that our fellow riggers had done in the past. This used to be held in the AD shop and not sure if they moved it since i was there in 1987. I enjoyed my time in and at times wished I had stayed in esp after oll Bill left office. Their was days were you just thought were did they come up with some of this stuff. But you know what, you did it and learned and when you got up there in rank you did not repeat that.... Sort of like life. I used to jump all the time if they let me. Ever operation that i could get on I tried it. Night, CE, C-130, C-5, C-141 ...I did not care. When some of my peers just did a jump every three months to keep pay, Not I... That Red hat deserves alot of respect and to receive you must also give it..... Some think I am a rigger and I am god. Please dont think like that as You hold lives and equipment in your hands. Even if you are rigging that Humvee or 8ft mass supply load, the guys on the ground may just need it...... Bragg is nice. Benning is nice. Take the draw and just do it. With time you will travel. as far as what areas youll work in my 7 plus years I worked many areas: Personal parachutes, Aerial Delivery, Cargo parachutes, HALO, Operations. some parachute maintance, and even shipping and receiving. All these areas let me learn more and allowed to me be better able to do things and go places. Even in Personal parachutes we packed cargo parachutes such as 15ft ext, 28 ft ext, G-14, etc.... Cargo we did G11's (A/b/ and C) and G12's. In the end it was and is worth it. Try it and youll see.... Cheese and Rice!?!?!? What do you pay per hour?
kenneth21441 replied to freeflir29's topic in The Bonfire
That is alot per sem hour. I am not sure how many courses that you had taken or what college that is but you could always find another college etc.... I went to University of Phoenix and enjoyed the classes and team effort concepts. Just had to know who was good team members and not go with the rag bags. UOP also took my military stuff and some of my other college credits. Best advice shop around if you are looking to change to a lower cost. hes not dead. If the french have anything to say over it its a rumor. One that if you believe you fall under the TSTO (Too Stupis Too Live) catagory. Sure We will all love to see this and the other one dead but I would much better love to see him caught alive and then strap a bomb on him and let him walk into Gizmo with the other idiots and let it blow... Just my two cents .... Kenneth Potter FAA Senior Parachute Rigger Tactical Delivery Instructor (Jeddah, KSA) FFL Gunsmith
