  1. Or a constituional amendment against talking back to your parents or using the Lord's name in vain.
  2. Nope, I seriously don't think so. He won because the GOP have messed up your country BIG TIME. They need a change and Obama "sounds" like he can bring that change about ...... and they could not stand the possibility of Palin in the White House - that really would have been a complete disaster 95% of Black men and 96% of Black women voted for Obama, and Black people voted in record numbers. No it couldn't be about race for them.
  3. Should be lower taxes for 95% of us, free healthcare, and an uprising of the middle class. What it is going to be it higher unemployment because of larger taxes on businesses small and large which will lead to job cuts and increases in the price to produce their products, thus increasing the prices of said products. 4. I think that is one of his promises he'll keep.
  5. I think the word Divorce does much more to corrupt the "perfectly good word" than letting gays get married.
  6. Even during his acceptance speech, I had to stifle a minor recurring cringe while hoping not to see the top of his head disappear. I hope security takes REAL good care of him. I actually said a little prayer for him last night. I hope with everything in me that the country has grown enough that there is not even an attempt.
  7. I think we agree on 2 of 3 things here. I don't think anyone needs to own an M-16, but I think everyone (if you are not insane or a violent felon) should be able to own a handgun or 30-30. I don't care what people do in their own bedrooms (assuming it is not a 60 year old with a 12 year old) and I don't see a reason that one gay man can not inherit something or visit his sick partner in the ICU. On healthcare, I've had benefits (not great but still benefits) but have not been to a doctor in about 6 years because I'm affraid of what the insurance company will decide it should and should not pay. I think if we all had the same benefits as a senator, it would be a good thing. I also think that if I can get the same drug from Canada as the US at half the price, I should be able to do that. 8. Easy for you to say. YOUR race hasn't been run into the ground for 400 years. YOUR gender hasn't been run into the ground for thousands of years. Asside from a few of his stances, I think Obama will make a great president. I'm for National Heathcare, Gay Rights, Assault weapons ban. I think Obama will do a great job. It just seems to me that race was much less of an issue to white people than it was to black people. With 95.5% it is hard to say Blacks were not voting "race based".
  9. Any Vector 3 or Sigma without a Skyhook can be retrofitted with a SkyHook at UPT. Mark Klingelhoefer
  10. ya know..i'll be the first to admit that race IS an issue in this country. its becoming less and less of one, and in a few generations i really believe it won't matter anymore...but not now. it DOES matter. i think it sucks that black people are criticized as much for celebrating their achievements as they are for "not achieving". again, its only been 40 years since the civil rights movement...many people alive today suffered horrible injustices, and for the life of me i cannot understand how one could even suggest that last night's accomplishment is "silly". to go from segregation to a black president in 4 decades is an EXTRAORDINARY feat. i feel that we do a tremendous disservice to ourselves and to our country's history by discounting what's happened in the last 24 hours. obama IS the first black man to become president of our country. he IS the first to accomplish that. it saddens me to know that there are american citizens out there who can deny the significance of this. how? When is the last time your saw a christian white male that was "allowed" to celebrate because of it, yet we have Women's World Records in skydiving and First Black President, First Female VP Dem or Rep. It is not the majority forcing people to see the difference, it is these groups. Just get over it and consider everyone equal. The more differences are drawn attention to, the longer the lines will be clear.
  11. With results like this for Obama,(from CNN exit polling) White Men (36%) 41% 57% 2% White Women (39%) 46% 53% 1% Black Men (5%) 95% 5% N/A Black Women (7%) 96% 3% 1% it is hard to say it was not about race for 95/96% of African Americans.
  12. Why does it have to be dead? Could make for an interesting ride to altitude. Mark
  13. Ouch. I've offically been offended. Thanks for that. I'm out of here. See you all in 4 years when I'll start the SC thing again.
  14. So if you believe that life starts sometime after conception (lets use 3 months as a example) what is wrong with using abortion as birth control within those 3 months, and why are more people not "pro abortion". If it is not the ending of a life, then nothing tragic is happening. If it is the ending of a life, then the story line behind the pregnancy (rape, 14 year old, slut) should not matter. If is is a life, why is it OK for a rape victom to end the life, but not the slut? Mark PS. I'm not trying to be offensive with the "slut" term, just painting a picture. I hope this is not offending anyone.
  15. I'm not a big brother, but I did spend 1 year of my life as a Youth Counselor 24 hours a day 5 (and sometimes 7) days a week in the middle of the everglades being a "parent" to between 12 and 18 Department of Juvenile Justice Youth offenders (and a few foster kids that were "too tough" for any other placement). As far as the woman who has been raped, I understand it is a HORRIBLE act/situation, but where does the line get drawn? Being the parent of a developmentally challenged kid is really tough. Should they be aborted? I personally do not see the grey. It is either ending a life or not. A child of rape that is put up for adoption can live a fantastic life. Why is it OK to "end a life" in some situations and not others? Mark Klingelhoefer Mark Klingelhoefer
  16. I was born with a birth defect that gave my parents months of "trauma" wondering if I would survive the early months of my life, and I'm glad they decided to "tough it out" rather than taking the "easy route". This has a lot to do with my value for the life of the unborn. Mark Klingelhoefer
  17. I don't think I've pissed anyone off, but if you can't have a discussion on views with people you don't agree with, grow the hell up. If I've offended anyone in any of my posts, I appologize, but I have not been "warned" once.
  18. But if it is not the ending of a life, what the hell is the big deal about the kid and the slut having an abortion? Why should we not promote it as "just another form of birth control"?
  19. And what if the rape victom has the baby but shortly after, decides she can't hack it and throws the kid in a dumpster? Is that still alright?
  20. If you believe that abortion is murder, then what is the difference between a rape victom, a 14 year old, or a 30 year old slut, and why should one be allowed tto kill a baby while the others can not. If you don't believe it is the endng of a life, then lets start advertising on TV with sales on abortions cause there is nothing wrong with the procedure. Mark Klingelhoefer

  22. It's me. And I don't have much hair. Got to wear the ball cap to keep from getting a sunburn on my melon. And we met at Dublin, back when you had hair. Yeah, I remember. I was kidding wheh I asked who was in yours. an my hair isn't as thick as it once used to be.
  23. That's me without the hair, who's the guy in yours?
  24. OK, so I was bored today and was watching "super Band" on VH1 Classic, and I saw a commercial for this product. It you go to https://www.mightymendit.com/flare/next you can see the comercial. They actually encourge (kind of) using the stuff for rigging work. I thought it was laughable and figured I'd share. Mark Klingelhoefer
