    what they have earned is the right to be paid a fair minimum wage. and are you saying that if everyone gets a college education then burger type jobs will just disappear? There will always be jobs for people with no ambition. We will always need floors to be swept, trash to be taken out, dishes to be washed. If there continue to be people with out drive, there will always be work for them to do. Edited to add Should people with no ambition be rewarded for their lack of drive? Mark Klingelhoefer

    If all you are educated to do is say "Do you want fries with that?", how much is one hour of your time worth? If 1 in the couple with no education asks "Do you want Hash Browns with that?" for 8 hours in the morning, and the other about fries in the evening, after they decided to drop out of High School, what have they "earned". They should be taking the bus, not have cable, and not being able to afford to eat at fancy restaurants. America is the land of opportunity, not entitlement. Mark Klingelhoefer

    I know this is not what you want to hear, but try taking a deep breath and relaxing. It's amazing what that can to to relax you body position. Also, if you have a wind tunnel near by, go spend 10 minutes there. It's a lot cheaper than repeating a level. Mark Klingelhoefer

    I was a Whitewater Rafting guide, Kayak instructor, Snow Skier, and Mountain Biker when I lived in WV and PA, and when I moved to Florida (where you could not do any of those things) I asked around "What is there to do for fun around here?" and found skydiving. I told the T/I that I was probably going to take the course (IAF) after my first tandem, so I wanted an altimeter and to "pull the parachute" on my first jump and the rest is history. I got on the ground and charged $1,100 to my charge card after landing to cover the cost of the IAF program. 1 year later, I had about 250-300 jumps. Mark Klingelhoefer

    As the "dude on the phone" I think I should clarify this a little bit. On the smaller rigs, the reserve is a lot less likely to come out because of the pocketed corners. If you have a "sport rig" with a 281 reserve, this is not the case. I jump a 304 and a 306, and on these, the reserve is not likely to come out in a main deployment just before the Cypres fires scenario, plus I am under canopy at around 3,000 on every jump and I do not believe I would deploy my main if I found myself below 1,000 ft. Because of this, I have chosen not to install the mod on my containers. edited to add But on the larger containers, Student Rigs, and Sigmas, it is highly recomended. Mark Klingelhoefer

    If a DZO made all of the money that was used to buy their fancy planes and buildings selling children into sex slavery in Asia, would there be anything Morally wrong with jumping at their DZ, and using the assets that were aquired by the selling of these children? What about if they sold Heroin to make the money used to buy the DZ? What about if they scammed unknowing people by lying about where they were located to entice people to purchase nonrefundable services and only letting people know they were lying after getting their credit card number? It's a matter of degree, but why would you jump at a DZ for example 3 and not example 1 or 2? Mark Klingelhoefer

    If you saw "Life" last night, you might have noticed our (UPT's) posters on the wall and rigs on the gear rack. I was contacted by one of the "Art Directors" and asked me to send out some rigs and other "stuff" to make their set look like a small DZ.     Good to know that at a "Group Member" dropzone, clouds are never jumped through and minimum clearance from clouds is always followed where you are jumping. The "Group Member" DZ's I've jumped at thaought this as more of a "guidelive" than a rule. Get rid of the GM Program or have them fund themselves and I'll consider restarting my membership.     I said that fixing the mistake would take an entire rebuild of the rig, which we would do if you were that upset, but we would prefer not to rebuild the rig if you could live with the mistake. You chose not to have the rig rebuilt. There is no way I would have told you 2 months. typically a rebuild goes to cut the day the decision is made, and it is red tagged to be rushed.     John, I’m sorry you did not receive a response over the weekend, but you posted after we had closed on Friday, and I have just seen the post. We sent you a new set of toggles per your request in June of 2007. I don’t know what you are talking about with me acting like this was an inconvenience in replacing them. I believe we had them in the mail to you the next day, although I never received the picture I requested of the faulty toggles. I hope we can get this resolved.     The information was sent to the USPA on Friday because containers shipping last week were shipping with the mod (and work instructions).     If you go with a Vigil 2 you can change the mode between Student, Expert or Tandem, so if you have a rig down for repairs, you can take the AAD and put into any of your Student, Tandem, or rental equipment.
