15 years ago, I had a plan like this and had no complaints about it......$5 to $1500 in 15 years.......Ouch!
-
I (as do a lot of my co workers) have an HSA plan that says I need to spend $1,500 out of pocket before they will cover anything. I have not been to see a doctor in over 8 years because of this. Just today, I had a conversation with one of my co-workers who is planning on having as many MRIs/expensive tests she can have this year as she has already spent her $1,500 and now everything else is covered, so why not have the tests done..... Is this what they are saying is a "good plan"? Avoid preventative care until you need something done, and then spend every dime you can in that year, because it will be several years until you and afford the $1,500 for the initial visit (and subsequent overspending).... Doesn't sound like a good plan to me..... Mark Klingelhoefer

I'm for universal (single payer) health care. This is not what was voted on. I'm for the preexisting condition clause, but not for my tax dollars going to fund abortions that I do not believe in.

No problem with that, just making sure you got taken care of. Mark

Gary, This is the first I'm hearing about this. We can sort this out, but I need to know there is a problem before I can offer a solution. Drop me an email (with a subject), Mark Klingelhoefer United Parachute Technologies

If you did it again, you should have had more of the less experienced people on the first load. They had FOREVER to build the formation, and the second load was rushed. http://www.facebook.com/#/video/video.php?v=253447846519&oid=257528664051 That should work for taking you to the video.

I just posted my video of this jump to the Toad Suckers page on Facebook.

I'm never going to live this down....... -
I just need to take the time off work and get myself a ticket. I'll eventually get over there to see you. Mark

I was agreeing with you that I can't believe he made the offer on DZ.com in an open forum. Mark Klingelhoefer BTW, I agree with the OP.........Karnage Krew Rocks!!!!

The Vigil will tell you (CONTROL ERROR 1, 2, 3, or 4) when it needs to be sent in for service. It is good for you to use until it isn't, but Vigil doesn't turn into a paperweight at an arbitrary date (12 years). Mark Klingelhoefer

I've reread the initial post and would like to say what I was going to say before I got on my little rant. I agree 100% with what is stated in the initial post and I wish more people had the exact same attitude. If you are doing AFF, tandems, or video for these, it's about business. Team coaching for competition should be about business......but I'd love to see freeflying head back toward the way it was 10 years ago.....free exchange of ideas and pointers. This is one of the reasons I don't jump much anymore. I did 1 jump with a guy that I had never met a couple weeks ago to video him and give him some pointers (and no i did not charge him and i paid my own slot) and the guy (and a friend of his) has called me a couple times telling me how much he enjoyed it and how many times he has watched the video (which took me a week to get to him) and it reminded me how much I love most aspects of this sport we have all chosen to be a part of.

Preach it brother. I've also seen people I helped out go on to be on World Records or win the Freefly Open class at Nationals.

I was completely behind everything in your post and I think people should give back what people have given them in the past (as I have) and was ready to post that, until I clicked on the link in your profile.... When you say "selling your skill is a sellout," what did you mean? Does that mean having people pay you to teach them something.....or does it mean something else? I've never charged (or paid) for coaching, so I completely understood the post and thought it was great. Your profile just threw me for a loop. Mark Klingelhoefer edited to add I've worked on the packing mat before and that is how I paid to jump with people I was coaching for a while.

Here is the information (from www.uptvector.com) on the person who got the 50,000th container for free. Congratulations to Olivier Berlenger, winner of the 50,000th Vector 3 competition!!! Olivier, who lives in Belgium, ordered his Vector 3 through the dealership Fly Your Body based in Gap, France and received the serial number 50,000. UPT has invited Olivier to travel to DeLand in December to pick up his new Vector. Whilst here, Olivier will visit UPT’s production facility and will be spending some time with Bill Booth.

I used to "give away" about half of my jumps that I bought doing "Free coaching" with extensive video debrief, until one of the local "freefly coaches" came up to me and accused me of "stealing money from his pocket" because he could have been charging them "Coach Jumps are $30.00 ". I never paid for a coach jump, and did not want to charge others, but the current state of the sport has a hard time with that. What happened to teaching someone to pack on a "rain day" without asking them for $50 for your time? I just thought the post and his profile link were hypocritical.

He says "Selling your skill is a sellout" and then quotes his prices on a website.....

Actually we like to be at around 14-16 weeks. This allows enough time to sort out any problems with the order before a container goes to cut. It takes 5 weeks (normally) for a contianer to go from cut to ready to ship. We can only make a certain number of containers per week, and that number does not change (unless we hire more people). All the containers get scheduled on a first come, first served basis, and we have just recieved a lot of orders in the last month and a half. We were at 10 weeks a month and a half ago. This only gave us about 2 weeks to prepare the containers for cut, which is pretty tough when you have to send emails back and forth to clarify what is writen on our order forms. We do have stock available in 2 weeks if anyone needs a container quickly, and I try to keep the common sizes in stock. Let me know if you have any questions. I Cant find one.. There was a lits posted of the team, but nothing like Omniscore where you could see who was on the team, with pictures! At this point, I'll rate the new website as flashy, but lacking substance. EDIT: took me a while, but found the list of 4way teams registered. But no info on them. http://www.uspanationals.com/blog/2009/10/nationals-t-minus-1-day-sunday-1111.html down on that page You'd figure with the rain delay, they would have time to post names of people on the teams and pictures...
