  1. The Bulletin has been corrected to include adding clear shrink wrap if ripcord is not damaged. Mark Klingelhoefer United Parachute Technologies
  2. I'll be there. But not with my normal boogie tour goodies I traveled with all summer. I'll be there to have fun and not work. Mark Klingelhoefer

    Turbo Tax???

I noticed that too. It cost around $70-$80 to file with Turbo Tax this year, with E-file and Direct Deposit. I think I might try tax-Cut or something else next year. I've been using TT for around 8 years now and it has never cost so much to file and get direct deposit. A few years, you got one free E-file with your purchase. Anyhow, I'm done with TurboTax after having to bend over before hitting the send button this year. Mark Klingelhoefer
  4. In regards to this senario, Vigil believes their AAD performed better than the Crypres. It did what it is designed to do when it reached the parameters. It fired. Imagine if you will the following senario..... You are on a stretch C130 getting ready to make a skydive with 400 of your closest friends (or people you just met that morning). The airplane does something goofy that causes your AAD to fire, it only causes the guy sitting next to you's AAD to shut down. Do you want to leave the airplane with 399 other people thinking you have a functioning AAD on your back or not leave the plane knowing you do not have an AAD for the jump? Vigil lets you know when it can't work. It Fires. At least that is the story I got from Vigil when I spoke to them in Gap. Mark Klingelhoefer
  5. Here is a copy of the Service Buletin. The affected ripcords are identified by black shrink wrap on the swedge. http://www.unitedparachutetechnologies.com/PDF/Support/Product%20Service%20Bulletins/PSB300107.pdf Mark Klingelhoefer United Parachute Technologies edited to include link as attachment was too large.

    Cool Pic

Correct me if I'm wrong, but summer always lastes 3 months, even here in Florida. Mark Klingelhoefer
  9. I'm not trying to start anything here. I come from Florida where SL just does not exist, but are the students charged less in a big class? If the DZ charges $100 a head to 1 student and the same $100 a head to the class of 30? If the DZ is making 50$ a head regardless of numbers basically for providing a room for you to instruct in, why should you not expect the same profit margin per student? Mark Klingelhoefer
  10. I have a funny, but true story. I was working down in Clewiston FL and worked with this one black guy who every time I would talk about jumping, he would love to listen to my stories and watch the videos, but his line was "There is no such thing as a Black Skyjumper." He thought we were all wacko. I was also the Vidiot for a few CReW teams at the time and 2 weekends of every month, I would go to Z-hills to train. One weekend, he asked if I could drive him there, and he would have his cousin pick him up so he could go to Tampa for the weekend and he would drop him off on Sunday and I would drive back to Clewiston. This particular weekend, they were doing 100 ways and I noticed 1 black jumper in the 100 ways. When he returned with his cousin, I made it a pont to take him over and introduce him just to prove to him the he was wrong when he said "there is no such thing as a black Skyjumper." 11. I think your vendor spot just got moved to right next to the porta-johns!! Bwaaaaaah I love you guys....Hey I heard you changed the name again to UUPT, the first U being uninsured?? Mark you are gonna tell the uppers that this is your event and that you have personally been invited? right? I think Greg will be the one you see, and Greg by the porta potties is kinda funny. Whatever, I'm just rolling with the punches. Mark
  12. As far as the space issue goes, I don't think they are talking about the Dropzone as much as the plane. When I learned to jump, back when skysurfing was still in the X-Games, Titusville was the training grounds for the best of the best (Brian Rogers, Erik Fradet, Sean, Cliff Burch
  13. I thought Jay was already like 45. He complains like an old man. Mark Klingelhoefer
  14. It would not even be a first for Joao. I saw him do it 7-8 years ago in Titusville. No TV crews, but a lot of Sony handhelds captured it. Mark Klingelhoefer
  15. I've got Stilletto #16, the oldest flying stilletto 120 in the world, and it still flys great. Granted it only has about 1200-1400 jumps on it. Mark Klingelhoefer
  16. Wow, I could book it right now to book for thia afternoon, returning on Monday to Atlanta for $40. That's 2 jump tickets..... What's going on in SDA for the weekend??? Mark Klingelhoefer
  17. I am absolutely the same person here or at the DZ. This is part of the reason I don't have to use a fancy alias here. What you see is what you get. Mark Klingelhoefer
  18. 24/7 in favor of the move as of now. Mark Klingelhoefer
  19. If this is a problem in Bonfire, then move the posts to General Skydiving where these posts are not allowed. I perfer this rather than not allowing our community to discuss what they discuss on the off chance that a one time visiter might be offended. I don't think they (the wuffo's viewing for "other reasons") are really interested in the other things we discuss behind our "closed doors". they are poking their head in the room for one reason and one reason only. Mark Klingelhoefer
  20. I'm sure the DVD was going to be sent out free of charge to anyone who registered for the boogie in the past. They probably were going to send it out to the address you listed on the waiver as a "Christmas Present". I agree with you 100%. Can someone else do the work and just send me a check? Mark
  21. I just wonder if when ChasingBlueSky posted a thread entitled "What can we do about SkyRide" on October 22nd 2004, he ever knew that 2 years and 2 months later, after 1,939 posts and 124,670 views, we would still be saying the same things and going back and forth with the same heated argument as when he posted his initial post. Maybe we should just try "google bomb them using blogs" as suggested by the original poster. Just trying to give some perspective to this thread. Mark Klingelhoefer
  22. Maybe it's in reference to how the old ragged out lightnings (that you see a lot of it CReW) fly. Old, Ragged out, dog of a canopy. This is not to be taken as an insult, more of a joke. I have MUCH respect for you Dawgs. I've even done a little myself. Mark Klingelhoefer
  23. I too though Mon's was it for sure.... Mark Klingelhoefer
  24. What is the Toadsuckers if not a Muff like club for Dawgs? Been There, done that, got the T-shirt. Mark Klingelhoefer BTW, Kevin and Jimbo, you guys are sickos, but its part of who you are and we accept that.
  25. Do intentional cutaways with a tersh count? I'vve got a couple of those. Mark Klingelhoefer
