  1. Practice with NVG? For when they have to go and play in exciting challenging foriegn places where people don't like them. You can call the base PAO and ask about it. Just call from a pay phone (wear glove's) and give them a general area rather than your address do not use you real name. Don't wait for them to call you back, just get a name and leave the phone booth immediatly & don't look up. Call back later for the answer from a different phone.
  2. Your evaluation is correct. It's one of the problems when a business monoply is in charge of a customer organization. The USPA is supposed to represent skydivers, but it's run by the GMDZO's who require USPA membership to jump at their DZ's. The GMDZO's only pay 5% (estimate) of the operating budget of USPA. The customer has two choice's: want to jump join USPA. Dont want to join USPA it's very challenging to find a DZ to jump at so you can't jump. From the little that I've read about the BPA and the CPA. They have a similar conflict of interest. The tail wags the dog. Lifes not fair, don't worry be happy! pay the dues and skydive! R.I.P.
  3. Hopefully this will be a once in a lifetime oppurtunity.I'm not a ob/gyn but I doubt anyone will see the video or would know what it is except you. It's your body, you know the drill, you've got other things to worry about beside a dumb video. Good luck.
  4. Hi Michele Don't worry about the intimate stuff the video started after the incision was made and the skin was spread everything else is draped in green couldn't even tell it was a neck. All we could see was the area the Dr was cutting , grinding and hammering on. When we try and find the tape of the neck surgery We have to remember what to look for or we get it confused with the shoulder surgery (scope). Did you get a video of your tandem? Skydiver's luv to geek the camera. If they don't have video, colored stills are still a option. As long as its scope or micro stuff.
  5. Spoken like a true unbiased Tandem driver, AFF, S/l and Coach, and rigger without a hidden agenda. I assume your USPA dues are tax deductiable and you work at a DZ. Not picking a fight just calling it like I see it. R.I.P.
  6. Hi Chris Wife was going to have her neck fused so we asked the doc the chance of getting a videoof the surgery. We figured Micro surgery, TV, just hookup the VCR. Dr says No problemo
  7. First time we went for a ride on a CH-47 (Chinook) We thought it was a blast: great rate of climb
  8. I can still remember Roger at dillingham field organizing a big way, standing up with one of his bare feet in a ice chest. Hard core I also remember a world champ swooping the ditch at deland barefoot (me old fart) and poping up just befor the bridge but caught one of his barefeet on the flower barrel planter on the end of the bridge. He just limped off laughing. Hard core You wanna play you gotts pay (sometimes). R.I.P.
  9. ***At USPA BOD meetings (and at other times I recall) I often hear a statement used by BOD members and others present. "What is good for drop zones is good for skydivers". I would like the opinions of anyone wishing to comment. Do you agree or disagree? Based on the info from the Google link the GMDZO's are the USPA BOD's. The GMDZO's didn't want to kick in the extra $50/GMDZ to lobby for this effort. The $15k is coming from the USPA membership I disagree but so what? USPA/GMDZO's have a monoply so if you want to play you got to pay. Botom line until the jumpers take back USPA and strongly encourage the DZO's to start their own organization like the PIA it will be SOS
  10. I remember some guys doing that shit back in the 70's...That is just totally whacked. Sometimes you have to wonder if some of the no pulls that you used to hear about back then were related. They probably thought it was a good idea at the time This thread was started by someone who doesn't exist, in a public forum. Who knows they could be a reporter gathering background info for a pulitzer prize BS story. Most of the people up to this point have responded no no no and I believe them because I know it's true. What you do in the privacy of your bedroom is your business this is a public forum on the internet. What's next talking about having sex with dead people. Do I really exist? Good acid dude! where's the floor Thanks I found it without anyones help. R.I.P.
  11. Funny response. But I'm trying to get some serious answers. Try looking in the mirror and talking to yourself. If that don't work for you do the same as above in the nude R.I.P.
  12. Damn Whats the rush? Your riding the elevator at work instead of taking the stairs and you want to skydive. If you haven't done it already try a couple of plf's (sp) and see how you like it. Of course do whatever floats your boat R.I.P.
  13. Since this is a troll Later with that sissy Mary jane shit. It stinks, bad for the lungs, spend to much time at the snack bar.Need to much equipment to use it etc. If you really want to enjoy a skydive Acid aka LSD is more discreet, the colors are more vivid, The old DZ is now a new one all the jumpers on the load are new, airplane ride to altitude is a blast Spot? Exit? no problemo Look Ma I can fly
  14. We were jumping a cruiselight when we jumped while it was snowing. It was just raining on the ground but the altitude temperature thing changed that. We got about 3k befor the visiabily starteed getting challenging due to the snow and did a hop & pop. The snow didn't sting like rain but when I checked the canopy I could see the snow collecting, inside my canopy. Whatever, Did a controllability check the canopy worked. Landed in the rain and the Ice that had collected on the leading edge of the nose fell off We decided we didn't need to jump anymore that day. R.I.P.
  15. Hi Diver Diver The local police started getting some heat on profiling certain ethnic groups for traffic stops. This resulted in a dramatic decrease in the stats. After the dramatic decrease in profiling during traffic stops some of the ethnic minorities that were getting stopped looked at their paperwork and found out the police had made a mistake and checked off the caucasion box on the ticket/report Let us know how you friend does in court. The last time the chatroom had a sob story the person rose from the dead. So maybe your buddy will luck out, R.I.P.
  16. Deuce: The initial post mentioned that the guy was driving just like he always does.*** QuoteHey guy's lets get real who is diver diver and how does he know how the guy was drivingbecause either the kid that got busted told him so or he is the kid. The BAC is an objective quantative test. I did some quickie math: all the american G.I.s that have died in Iraq up to now are equal to one week of fatalities related to DUI's in this country. R.I.P.
  17. Dude! It's not me! Look at the profile. No avatar. Lives in Ohio. Just looks like DiverDriver....but it's not. The one, the ONLY..... Hi Chris Didn't need the picture, what the guy was saying and what you have said in the past didn't jive. I even checked his profile, who knows in cyber space DiverDiver could be a 20 yr old that gets to tell his sob story to the judge. R.I.P.
  18. A while ago I got in the back seat of a minivan with a family of 5or 6 Those folks never used them so I couldn't find my set and wouldn't let the the driver pull out of the driveway until I found my seat belt (under the seat) and got mine snapped in. A long time ago while in the USAF we air evacated a older american couple from turkey that had been in a car accident. I still remember the Husband walking on the plane he had been driving and wearing his seat belt. His wife and life long patner was carried on in a streatcher her head and face covered in Bandages. The women recieved medical care in flight from military Dr's and nurses, lots of units of blood during the flight to germany. It was unusaul for us to carry civilians. We asked one of the escorts what happened. When the couple got into the accident the passengers door opened and the lady was ejected and slid down the road on her head and face. Massive head and face trauma. When you see two people that were in the same accident one without a scratch (seatbelt) the other critical (no seatbelt) it makes a person think. Prior to the accident at Perris I thought as long as I had my back against the bulkhead I would be OK. Wrong! When the bird crashed the weight of all the bodies moving forward crushed the folks with their backs against the wall. Some jumpers don't like wearing their seatbelts on T.O. to bad their not only playing with their own nickel but everyone elses that's sitting in front of them. R.I.P.
  19. damn I thought we were talking to diverdriver but it din't sound like him trying to get a irresponsiable dumbshit off on a technocality by some scum sucking lawyer. Diver Diver maybe you could be a character witness for your buddy in court and tell the judge what you told us. See where that gets you. BTW how old are you? Ever been charged with DUI? drink just one or two beers and drive? A lot of us have known people that were killed by folks DUI.It ruins the lives of not only the deceased but their whole family forever. Think about it R.I.P.
  20. Would he deserve a second chance if he had killed someone? He says he was driving normal, have you ever heard a drunk driver say anything different? This won't ruin the rest of his lifehe's still alive. Just teach him a lesson he won't forget to be responsiable for his own actions. Dead people don't get a second chance just ask them! approx 23,000 every year from DUI accidents. The legal limit for blood alchohol(sp) in Wa state for underage drinkers/drivers is 0.0%. We live in a small town and read the typical to bad so sad story in this weeks, weekly paper. 4 yutes all DUI, 1 yute fell off the roof of the car DOI. His life is ruined forever he be dead. Happened a couple of days before he was supposed to leave for basic training. R.I.P.
  21. Assman be carfull for what you ask for.
  22. Troll Check out the profile you all are answering a person who doesn't exist except in cyber space. Do like Nancy said just say no to drugs, skydiving is enough of a buzz and it's legal!
  23. short answer: Sounds like shit, save your time and money look around for something else. Second thought if it cost lesss than $500 and you only want to make 2jumps/yr have rigger check it out.
