  1. I ALWAYS loved helping officers, pilots, navs. and other aircrew overcome their food aversions....if you catch it you can eat it for the most part. BWAHAHAHA Weren't you a instructor at fairchild? We heard about that place and said no way how about panama. Made more sense going to panama for survival training in the late 60's. The though of haveing to carry two sleeping bags in the winter told me it stay the hell away from that place. Plus we heard you all (Fairchild) hurt some guy's real bad during training, and I'm not talking about the POW camp. The POW camp would be another reason not to go Unless we got to be abused by a lady like you. Second thought I'd still prefer panama. R.I.P.
  2. What Michele said. And Please get your paperwork up to date (meeting). You don't need a recorder carry a pencil and paper if you got to go to a meeting. Let us know if the other guy goes back to work You owe your Sis a big one R.I.P.
  3. Hi Quade I think this only serves to bolster my point that even though we have good intentions, meddling in the affairs of other countries isn't all that good of an idea. We almost always have to eventually deal with the leaders years later, it just gets more messy and the cycle begins again. >> I remember before we helped the guy back on the island there was some discussion about his questionable background. I guess the country has a long history of Bad old boys being in charge the earliest I recall was Papa doc who maybe died of old age then he was replaced by son Baby doc who left on short notice then the military then the pres then the military then we help the pres get back in 1994. But the long cycle of corruption and brutality was never broken. The french knew it, we knew it and the UN knew it. On CNN there was a "expert" that said we were going to do something in 2000 about the election process but Jimmy Carter stepped in and the election was claimed a success. also something about the UN was only concerned about the humanitarian problem (food & water) and not the political mess or human rights issues. BTW we worked with a guy in the mid 60's from haiti who was a political refugee. I guess the planning for the long term solution for Haiti wasn't well enough coordinated with with the U.N. That what concerns me about Iraq not only was the short term plan lacking I see us declaring a victory, leaveing and the place returning to it's ethnic boundaries after a lot of bad stuff happening. R.I.P.
  4. I eat what ever the wife tells me to eat. She says she loves me. she also buy's my life insurance. What me worry R.I.P.
  5. No one wants to tell the king he's not wearing any cloth's. The three star never argues with the four star. The four star doesn't argue with Dumsfeld etc, etc. BTW remember who helped put the last president into power in Haitia sp? 20-20 hindsight R.I.P.
  6. Hi North Any NYS lawyers or cops around??*** QuoteI'm not a lawyer but in my opinion you have just as much rights as your employer to write down what's being said in a meeting. That way you can exchange info on what was discussed at the meeting and make sure there wasn't a "failure to communicate". CYA 101, Business 101 etc. Your employer may not like it. So what? They've already put you on LWOP. Now they had a meeting with you where you can't prove what was discussed, because you were told to come alone. Maybe you can trust them to take care of you. You know you can trust me even if I don't really exist R.I.P.
  7. I believe that in New York State it is legal to record your own telephone or your own regular conversations even without the other person's knowledge. But I didn't, and he didn't say anything anyway. Although he made notes of what I said, I hope they were accurate.*** Gota have a plan sam. A paper trail is a good thing for both parties as long as everyone has the same paper
  8. It's only illegal if the other party doesn't know their being recorded. If you read my suggestion It said place the recorder on the table. He say's what's that you say a recorder
  9. IMO Our troops, and the average iraqi's are in deep trouble. The most recent blood bath involved the iraqi's from the majority religion. In a democratic system they will have a majoity of votes and be able to control the gov't. The minority players don't that. I'm thinking a civil war and the country ends up being divided into three parts Kurds in the North, sheits sp?in the south, and the Suni's somewhere in the middle. This probably won't happen until the US sucessfully returns Iraq back to the Iraqi's. Smae as viet nam Time will tell R.I.P.
  10. Hi First take a deep breath relax and smile Time is your friend. >>i think the charges are for having it taking up space in their shop when its not being worked on. >> QuoteIMO Incorect, Hi pressure sales B.S. We recently had a full size van that blew out the tranny. Limped to the tranny shop, Got the estimate To bad so sad told the tranny guy's van not worth it. We asked if we could leave it i their lot for a couple days so a wholesale buyer could look at it. No Problemo they pushed the van out the door. After a week the wholesaler never showed up we kept in touch and had the Van towed (insurance) prearranged to the chevy dealer where we had bought a car a year earlier and asked them to wholesale it for us. (tranny no workee, 105k miles) The van sat in the dealers back lot for a month no problem no charge picked up a check for twice what a wholesaler offered us over the phone. VW doesn't have to match anyones price this isn't home depot, with their attitude of their 24 hr deadline the VW place is what it is. I suggest you get references and do some math and compare warranties and options of new car. A "new engine" usually doesn't include stuff like starter, distibuter, etc. Also 75k miles Brakes, tires, this stuff can turn into a money pit. Got any place you can stash the car until you figure this out? BTW befor the van we drove a car until it had 185k on it, when its time to go it's time some just sooner than others. Good luck, Your in control not the car or the VW dealer. R.I.P.
  11. Hi North Hope everything went Ok. I'd have recommended you to take a tape recorder with you and place it on the table, so there's no he said she said. I prefer to deal with HR in writeing. HR (human remains) know their in deep do do for suspendeing you without pay when they had prior knowledge of the other guys track record. IMO All they had to do was tell the repeat offender to empty his locker in 30 minutes and escort him out of the building and tell to stay away or they would have him arrrested for tresspassing. Hope you get your suspended pay back.

    gun choice

Hi Dave Your a big dude without a gun. Anyone mess's with you is either nuts or a very bad person. As far as a wheel gun vs auto. Some folks just don't get it. With a rd in the chamber, removing the mag doesn't unload the weapon. Of course training could take care of that if their smart enough to get it. I've got a glock 17 & a 17L. The 17L came with a ported barrel and slide. The blowback from the barrel would get shit all over the front site so after a few rounds the whit dot would be black.. Easy fix. When we go to the range we load up all the mags first and then shoot without reloading 150 rd or something and leave. The cops take a look at the 32 rd mag and we just laugh and tell them it makes a nice blackjack. A lot of the police have glocks for work so of course they can't modify them. I let them try my glock with the competition trigger (forgot spec's maybe 2-3 lbs pull) their jealous. We had a local cop who claimed that his Glock discharged at work without his finger on the trigger After extensive testing of his glock, he was sent back to school for additional training. The "bad guy" who wasn't that bad, tried to flee got tangled up in a barb wire fence and didn't have a weapon was buried.$$$$ IMO Glocks rock at first I was a little concerned about the lack of mechaincal safeties. But once i learned the basic rules, no problemo
  13. Sorry for your loss Lots of tears tonight all around. We'll see your friend on the other side with his tail wagging
  14. QuoteCheck with the folks on the CRW forum about the B-12'sif your interest in CRW . I wanted quick ejector's and it didn't go over very well. It never to late to look "high speed"
  15. Hi John Thanks for the numbers, pierce county covers a wide area including the city of Tacoma and two large military bases. In our particuler area we do have a major problem with meth freaks and I.D. theft. Stealing mail & trash in rural area's is a major problem and almost a cottage industry due to the drug use. I don't know if this included in the larceny theft number. Since we live 1/3 mile from the county road where our mail box is located and we leave out trash for P.U. I don't think even a special heavy duty welded steel mail box and post set in concrete would provide enough protection. Simple solution all mail (except junk)gets sent to a PMB or post office cost $100/yr . All out going mail gets hand carried to a secure location. Trash: we burn anything with our personnel info on it. Once we found our trash can 1/2 mile down the road with it's contents all over the place. Including lots of dog shit

    gun choice

Hey, just a thought - my answer was quick and off the hip. . .yes, But I wanted to find out what this was - profile - Registered today - already starting a gun thread - Me smellum one troll. Thanks turtle
  17. Call me a wimp, etc but I'd rather watch from the ground than be in the airplane on the extreme stuff. Funny thing, when you have to go along for the ride for work it doesn't seem as extreme as when they do it for fun and take you along for the ride without asking.
  18. Who knows maybe you'll want to get a SOS. I'm not old enough yet
  19. Hi slot perfect Thanks for the great info. If the manufactor uses objective tests to determine the airworthyness of a canopy no one can argue with that. $25 bucks is very reasonable
  20. I'm not a rigger or familer with mirages. Did you buy a custom rig or a used one?. I assume all rigs have the lower end of the container connectd to the lower part of the main lift web. This connection can be of different legths. Or the main lift web could e to long leaving to much slack in the connection pt. Get measred for the rig again and have the manufactor check the size of your harness in their data base. The problem you describe can be corrected. The only question is by who and the cost. Custom rig and your measurements were correct and Mirage made the harness to big IMO they should resize the harness at no charge. Used rig, a master rigger with a Big Machine or mirage can fix the problem. Want a G4 strap no problem Mirage will add it R.I.P. R.I.P.
  21. Hi Jeff You have your opinion I have mine. I respect your opinion and your right to carry and protect yourself. BTW 6 yr's ago we moved out to the country. Before that we lived az house for 15 yr's that was located a couple of miles from the green river. Does that name sound familier? The green river murder was operating within a 2-3 mile radius from my house. Hw was responsiable for killing at least 49 women. But he wasn't into home into home invasion and killing house wives. He picked up prostitutes off the street. We weren't concerned. We flew on C-130's in viet nam as a loadmaster for 3 months and only wore our pistol twice. Once when the pilot asked me to and the other time we were transporting 150 VC prisoners with 1 Vietnames escort. The rest of the time I kept the pistol in our helmet bag and hid it on the flt deck so no one would steal it. Guns are heavy to wear and a pain in the ass when your doing manual labor. I did check out a M-16 once when we were going to a place that required a fighter escort. Other than thos three times we never worried about it. BTW The pilot did tell our VC "passengers prior to takeoff that if they even stood up in flight we would open the ass end of the plane release the pallets they were sitting on and eject their ass from the plane. With the terrorist that the military has to deal with today they have U.S. army escorts when their transported and are secured to the pallets. If they move it would be a race to see who kills them first. Me or the army guy's. R.I.P. End of discussion.
  22. Hi Jeff Have you heard of a guy by the name of Massad F. Ayoob. He wrote a book " In the gravest extreme" The role of the firearm in personal protection. He's not a anti gun person he'a a nationaly known Gun expert, Police officer, insructor and expert court witness on the use of deadly force. He also wrote other books "Stess Fire" volume 1 of gunfighting for police: advanced Tactics and technques . I think he wrote another book on the tactical use of shotguns. Rather than express our personnel opinions and go around in circles I'll defer to Mr Ayoob. His books are available at some gun store's if you want to know his opinion on when to us deadly force. Based on Mr Ayoobs book you might be surprised to find out when " I sure as hell will protect me and mine, and for that it is most advisable to have a gun above all else" is advisable. R.I.P.

HI Mr Atsbury The next time you talk to Jay please Tell "Mr" Stokes "R.I.P. said How the hell are you and say howdy to Vivean his lovely wife, For the few folks who don't know who Mr stokes he was a instuctor (or whatever )at the halo school in yuma for a number of years and recently broke the world record for most jumps in 24 hr's. IMO if Mr stokes says it's good to go than it is. Buyer beware is not a issue
  24. Hi crazydiver I've got one also, they work fine standups etc.
  25. Hi Jeff Whats your solution stay home, or pack a gun 24/7 when your not home. I had a judo instructor that competed in the olympic's. He told us he wouldn't mess with a person with a gun. R.I.P.
