  1. The problem with this scenario and scumpot's(no offense dude) is you have to be dealing with a person with the same ethics as the person who asked the origional question. Some people in the industry or just fun jumpers would buy it cheap or take it for free and just resell it. Buyer beware thing. I cut up my Cruise light (origional owner) and kept the warning panel for fun it only had 500 jumps on it but it was sniveling really bad. May have been able to sell it eventually to someone for a "good deal. No thank you. Warning: Nylon burns really fast don't hang it up in you house or let kids/adult use it for a tent. Just my opinion R.I.P.
  2. Agree with all of the above. The business is small enough that your always dealing with the President of the company where customer service comes first
  3. I'm guessing the time frame is somwhere in the summer boogie circuit. There's a lot of turbo's heading east out of Arizona among other places, going right past your DZ. R.I.P.
  4. Haven't had good luck with BBB Small claims court with same paper work
  5. ***A Pentagon audit found Cheney's former company may have overcharged the Army by $1.09 per gallon for nearly 57 million gallons of gasoline delivered to citizens in Iraq, senior defense officials say. *** Seems even the Pentagon isn't sure they were overcharged. Glad you are so certain. Sorry Gravitymaster IMO your quote May have is PIO double speak to save face for the contracting agency" vs . Google search may show that senior pentagon offical was in charge of the contracting agency that awarded the contract and was supposed to monitor their contractor. BTW isn't Halibuton out of the gasoline business in iraq for now..... Wonder why? To busy? Not worth the effort? May have gotten caught with hand in cookie jar.
  6. I see a profile here. A certain type person wearing a long sleeve shirt on a very hot day. R.I.P.
  7. Psst have you checked any of the countries/cities in the middle east.www._________.com I'll stop there. Earl's probably already got them. Bastard? Earl could care less it's all about business. R.I.P.
  8. You have to remember who your dealing with the Gov't, State, DMV. When you've worked for the Gov't we had to deal with them every day. This is their typical B.S. you ended up with the "no" people. Can't reason with a head of lettuce. Based on the above reg's maybe you can go somewhere else or even the same place and fill out another application and respond no. If they ask show then the reg. DMV
  9. Wasn't there a recent domain thing in the news about some kid who used his name for his websight and it was close to one of the big boy's. Bill gates or someone? I think the kid beat the big boy's. There aren't that many DZ's on the west side of the mt's in Wa. I'm sure J.F. would know whats going on. She's also the conference director and Earl is a USPA GMDZO but USPA is probably "to busy" to help you out. As far as "Earl the Pearl" has he gone international yet R.I.P.
  10. Haliburton? It's gone political it won't be over until after the election depending on who wins. Lets not forget about our troops and their families when they come home. R.I.P. SCR 2719 old fart

Based on watching Cops on T.V. isn't the purpose of the ratchet lock to prevent the Bracelets from tightening up on the bad boy/girl, If they were to lean against them. How come on T.V. (Cops) it looks like officers use a pen to lock up the ratchet. Also isn't the purpose of the ratchet mechanism so one size bracelets fit all size wrists. It's looks stange when a real big guy/girl gets hooked up and the police have to use two pair of bracelets beause one pair can't reach both wrists. I would not want to be a police officer. The customers usually aren't very nice people. On the other hand for recreation purposes maybe, as long as I didn't have to wear them. Forget that I would always end up wearing them R.I.P.
  12. Does it count if a person doesn't inhale? I shot up that evil weed just one time and it made me want to go out and rape sheep. Nevery picked up the needle again R.I.P.
  13. Might want to do a "seach posts" on the subject. IIRC there was some good info Hard deck, snivel vs mal, etc. R.I.P.
  14. Some kind of big PC type thing forget the name, 32 footer maybe. I doubt if he could get away with a 28 ft surlus main for a reserve must have had a big lopo. Real nice guy. always had to go out base. R.I.P.

  16. Hi North I recommend emailing your Sis and if she concurs sending a letter to your boss with a CC to HR and the big cheese, (Chain of command.) Your supervisor has allowed this situation to go this far you shouldn't expect him to do anything after he gets your letter. Check with your sis for the legal buzzwords that you can use in your letter. If your feeling stressed, depressed, losing sleep over your work situation mention that to your sis. BTW never say postal at work! Keep a daily diary. Not a professional work enviroment, you could be a old man before the feds got to your case. Have you considered looking for a job at another hospital? Two weeks notice would be sweet R.I.P.
  17. Hi People >>I think in every industry it is prudent to at least give other companies the option of proving they would be capable of handling these items/services. I think good business/governing would call for competitive bids especially when the VP used to be/still is tied to the company.>> The contracting agency has some extra hoops to jump thru due to the FAR's (federal aquistion reg's) this agency has found it expedient to give contractor's a job order contract to avoid have to get competitive bids for every item of wotk as they occur. In this case Halibutons oil well fire contract was someh0ow modified to include other items of work. When this agency has used this type of contacting in the US during peace time they have awarded the contact to one contract for a year with the option to increase the period of performance for another two years. Due to the workload at the contracting agency the period of performance is alway extended regardless of performance rather than going out for new bids. From what I saw as a employee of this agency This is not a good way to do business because if the contractor fails to perform IAW their contract the contacting agency doesn't have a replacement waiting in reserve. To get rid of a contractor for poor performance and procure a new contractor IAW the FAR's is a time consuming process. To avoid this situation IMO the contracting agency should award these type of contracts to a number of contractor's if one doesn't perform IAW the terms of their contract then they shouldn't be awarded any new work and contractor # 2 can start picking up the slack. In Iraq Haliburton is the only game in town. For them to lose the fuel supply contract due to "book keeping errors" (price gouging) is very unusual. Prior to their removal the contracting agency at the highest level (3-4 star General) denied any wrong doing by Halibuton. Congression oversight proved him wrong. >>If Halliburton really was the only company who could provide these services, why not go through a bid process to show that to the American public>> see above >>A bid process is not always required as a matter of protocol. Take 9/11 for example. The telecommunications network that was crushed in the process belonged primarily to one company (the same network that served Wall Street) - Verizon. Verizon was able to rebuild nearly 20 SONET rings in a matter of days, and restore primary services where needed the following business week. You know how many American companies had the same resources to meet the challenge? One. SBC and BellSouth each had similar resources, but neither company had a presence in New York. Assuming any of these companies could have done the rebuilding, I would submit that there are maybe six companies worldwide that could have responded in the same fashion>> The bidding process of the federal Gov't has to comply with the FARs (see above). FEMA and other Federal agencies use the job order contract process to expediate the process. I'm not aware of who the contracting agency was for the 9/11 telephone work. For further info on the Halibuton contract in Iraq do a Google on Corps of Engineers in IRAQ. Beware some of the info is published by the Corps Public information Office AKA Propaganda Dept. BTW I be retired and served with Corps for a short period of time in Dharan Saudi arabia in 1990. I don't believe there is a conspiracy between Cheny, Halibuton, the contracting agency et al. Stupidity yes conspiracy no. R.I.P. Federal Contracting 101
  18. Whoa! That wingtip looks like it is only about two-feet off the ground, and headed towards those people! My thoughts exactly I hope I would have been smart enough to be running my ass off befor the camera shot just in case I needed to avoid the flames and flying debris. R.I.P.
  19. IMO Scott was just another Pentagon propaganda oops I mean public relations success story like Jessica. I think the only ones who were successful in E&E in our class in Panama were the combat controlers,& para rescue guy's. A city slicker pilot/air crew person (new yorker city here) would have a problem with E&E in the jungle or woods with just one course. PT what the hell is that? I can't even spell it! No disrespect Ms Amazon but IMO Fairchild was the wrong place at the wrong time (late 60's) to teach E&E for SEA. THE POW camp OTOH was a good idea but wasn't available in Panama the right place to teach E&E at that time. Of course both Fairchild and Panama schools were "success stories" at the same time. Don't know what kind of training Ogrady got, 20-20 whatever it was, it wasn't enough. R.I.P.

Talk to Ms Amazon. Or check out her comments on the Vet thread about her old job The USAF used to pay her to play a guard in a POW training camp. Not a lady I would mess with. Unless she told me to Damn what was that safe word R.I.P.
  21. Hi GM This is getting off topic. But I'll Try and respond. As hard as it is for the conspiracy crowd to believe, Haliburton was in fact the only company who on short notice, could provide all these services. Can you provide the name of another company who could? Please let us know who. I agree there was no "conspiracy" it was stupidity by the US contracting agency. Another company that could have provided the service's? Who did it during Gulf war one. There were a lot of different Oil well fire companies working to put out the oil fires during gulf war one, The threat of oil well fires was the origional reason for hiring haliburten. Can we go back to the origional sunject now. With or withour Haliburtin we're in deep do do. R.I.P.
  22. Now you are really asking for trouble. "Small" issues like "Kurdistan" and the effect this will have on claims for territory from Turkey and Iran will "pop" up. Issues around the borders with Iran in the south, etc. etc. You end up with Tribal controlled areas with resulting faction wars and instability (a little like Afghanistan). This will not just affect Iraq but also Iran, Turkey, Syria, Jordan and the Golf States. That is like putting a light to a powder keg. And the Powder keg holds something like 70% of the worlds oil reserves. Woooha - hold on to your seats and tune in to "mayhem in the middle east". Gawain you really ARE a follower of GWB's school of "foreign policy made simple".... Sounds like the domino theory used to justify Viet Nam. History will tell the truth. Lets just continue to support our troops in the field and their familes and continue to support them after they return home.
  23. Jumping out at 500' because people are shooting at you is smart. But going out knowing once you land and they will still want to shoot at you. Thats man nuts R.I.P.
