You and your beautiful self (and SM1,no disrespect intended) need to bring the pain...all of it!! Tim T. Team Paraclete

The cut away I used to get my Strong rating was a Tandem Vector cut away I had while doing tandems in the U.K. Tim Tennant Team Paraclete >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Agreed. I would not employ a tandem instructor who had not done at least one cutaway (emergency or intentional). I had two real malfunctions before applying for a tandem rating and 16 after that. All of my tandem malfunctions were under first generation Strong mains. Even with the best of packers, they still opened hard. Nowadays we average 1 mal per 1000 jumps on SET 400s. Most modern mals can be tracked to sloppy packing.

1st injured student: Any other ideas on getting legs up and out?
usskydiver replied to JJohnson's topic in Instructors
I have used something similar attached to the chest strap for parapalegic tandem students. The other thing I do is because we have Sigma's (light toggle pressure), I have the student grab the grippers on the leg strap to help them straighten their legs. Tim T. Team Paraclete -

As a master rigger and Javelin owner I offer this advice. Are the canopies properly sized for the container? As previously mentioned, take it to a rigger. If the reserve is packed so the shared wall pushes into the main container, that will contribute to this problem. Also not enough material up in the ears of the free bag will contribute. The main closing loop is critical. Check the loop length by holding it up to the top flap (hold both vertically). The loop should not be longer than the stitching for the velcro used for the bridle "hesitator" on the top side of the top flap. If this is confusing PM me and I'll talk you through the process. The History Of HALO Operations

Nice read John. See you this weekend. Tim T. Team Paraclete -
I have not felt this bad about something in a long time. Lake Wales is my "favorite DZ to travel to." My team did our 1st camp there this year and they were wonderful. They threw a great Nationals last year as well. I hope Betty and Roger and the rest of the gang have the courage to rebuild and reopen. Tim T. Team Paraclete

Are you tired of all those sissy "friendship" poems that always sound good, but never actually come close to reality? Well, here is a series of promises that really speaks to true friendship: 1. When you are sad - I will help get you drunk and plot revenge against the sorry bastard who made you sad. 2. When you are blue - I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you. 3. When you smile - I will know you finally got laid. 4. When you are scared - I will rag on you about it every chance I get. 5. When you are worried - I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be and to quit whining. 6. When you are confused - I will use little words. 7 When you are sick - Stay the hell away from me until you are well again I don't want whatever you have. 8. When you fall - I will point and laugh at your clumsy ass. This is my oath...I pledge it till the end. Why?, you may ask, because you are my friend. Send this to 10 of your closest friends, then get depressed because you can only think of two and one of them isn't speaking to you right now anyway. Remember: A good friend will help you move. A really good friend will help you move a body. Let me know if I ever need to bring a shovel.

3. 8-Way Intermediate: a. Representations of the numbered block sequences (except blocks 9, 11, 12, 15, 20, and 22) and lettered random formations from the current dive pool are singularly placed in one container. Fom the USPA Competition Manual (pg 54) the rest of your answers are probably in there as well. http://www.uspa.org/publications/manuals.pdf/SCM.1-5_May2004.pdf I'm too dumb to make it "clicky" Tim T. What was the draw for the Senior Class? Tim T. Team Paraclete

How can 7 sweaty guys and 2 beautiful women look as good as 5 foxes? Tim T. Team Paraclete

That's interesting. I competed intermediate last year at the US nationals and we used a reduced dive pool (no slot switchers, etc) but it was a first four/first five draw. I'm doing open this year so learning all the new stuff I didn't learn last year (I sometimes think my head is going to explode) Tim T. Team Paraclete

Vicki, Where are the complete results (including the draw) posted? Tim T. Team Paraclete

I've had mine for 2 weeks now and wear it daily. Minus all the Hollywood buzz, I liked the idea. It's also kind of cool to be able to look at my wrist and find a bit of motivation to make it through another tough moment when I'm having a tough day. Tim T. Team Paraclete

What about this for water jumps?
usskydiver replied to cvfd1399's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I have used a "Spare Air" a lot when doing over water flights in MH-53's from Italy to Bosnia and back and again from Sierre Leone to Monrivia, Liberia and back. I believe in them for flying operations but not for jumping. My 1,000th was a night water freefall off the coast of Italy from a C-130, no helmet, no altimeter (left it in the A/C after confirming we were at 3,500' AWL). For intentional water jumps the single best thing you can wear IMO is a wet suit. You have to be a pretty dense (body density) individual to be negatively bouyant in rubber. As far as inadvertant water landings I'm definitely going to lose the weight belt first. Tim T. Team Paraclete (edited for spelling) -
That is a "For Official Use Only" document. Even on the Army pubs websight you need a special password to access that info. Tim T. Team Paraclete

He was prebreathing 02 which was critical to his success. I seriously doubt that anyone (in any aircraft) could do successfully accomplish what he did without prebreathing. In the US military, if we're going above 18K we must prebreath for 45 minutes before crossing through 10K. (unpressurized). Tim T. Team Paraclete

After spending the last 3 (or is it 4 months) completely re-doing the interior of the house (all new paint (ok, I haven't done the closets yet but I did do the ceilings), hardwood (bamboo actually) floors, new furniture (in the living room), it was "clean up weekend." Getting the garage back in order so I can find the motorcycle, put my wife's (Colbrodie) Cabrio back in and get a sense of order/balance around here. All this while trying to train 2 or 3 weekends a month for the nationals (8-way / Open). Tim T. Team Paraclete

I agree. I will never need anything faster than her (1998 748L #46 of 100, sometimes referred to as the Neimann Marcus bike because that's the only place you could get them from). There's just something really sexy about a tucked up exhaust and a single sided swingarm. Tim T. Team Paraclete

The color in your bridle window for p/c.
usskydiver replied to tonyhathaway's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I apoligize in advance for the drift but: I have a small rubber band around the french link in my PC. I cock it before packing and S fold the safety line into that rubber band. I have been doing this for years (since collapsable PCs came out) and have never had a problem. The bag does not slip down the kill line or anything. Tim T. Team Paraclete
